In actual fact, this is the CORRECT way to hold ANY frog without hurting it, or incase it hurts itself. Holding it around the waist stops its back legs from kicking or causing it to jump, and lessens the strength behind its struggles.

The frog would squeak like that if you just walked up to it. Its called a 'defence mechanism'. -_-

If it was being squeezed, it wouldn't be able to make the noise, because its lungs need to have a given pressure within them to make the high pitched squeel. If you squeezed their lungs it would just come out as a large, forced exhale of breath, not a squeak.

Okay I have to tell this story. I remember when I was a kid one night my sister found a huge bull frog on the driveway. She bought it in the house to show everyone. I heard her say "look who I found". The next thing I knew I heard my mom yelling ARRRGG! NO! GET IT OUT OF HERE! The frog pissed all over my mom and she was angry to say the least. I looked down the hallway and just saw a stream of urine shooting across the hall to the kitchen. I still laugh when I remember that.
