  • Market the gold cup!!!! if americans still have world cup fever they'll catch on!

  • Muchas gracias a UNIVISION, una empresa muy fuerte y gracias por lo del 2010 en el mundial, os amo desde MADRID.

  • Sorry Obama

Canada will get 2026 for you

  • QATAR WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • QATAR <3

  • Qatar won the 2022 fifa bid :P

  • Obama said "UHHH" 17 times.

  • CALIFORNIA THE GOLDEN STATE FIFA BRING THE WORLD CUP TO CALIFORNIA PLEASE 2022!!!!!!!!

  • USA can afford to host the world cup and we wouldn't have the problems facing japan and S korea, where they can't fill there world cup stadiums anymore

  • USA! Bring it to the States!!! With Big stadiums and Great Cities the World Cup will BE AMAZING! The FANS will LOVE the Experience Trust me!!!

  • YEAH GO USA :)))))

  • USA=2018

    Australia=2022

  • @ultmatDUD nop!

    Russia 2018

    Qatar 2022

  • We want the CUP in the USA ill will be living there by that time ^_^

  • Bring the WORLD CUP back to the States!!!

  • Olympics will never beat the World Cup

    World cup #1!!!

  • @guy2008rules true... but it will in 2016 because football is now an olympic sports...

  • USA will win in 2018 on us ground

  • @soccerdude865

    LOL no it won't.

  • Honestly, USA has the best structure. But I would like Russia for 2018 and Australia for 2022

  • It's not too early for the USA to host the World Cup again. it was back in 1994. And may I remind everyone that Mexico held the tournament in 1970, and then they got to hold it sixteen years later in 1986. For me, if we hold it again, it will help improve the sport here even more.

  • @erickofspirit Mexico held it 16 years later because colombia should have host it...but they had some problems...so Mexico did it again

  • obama apoya world cup 2028 en usa

  • I personally think it's too early for USA to host the World Cup again. I'm hoping Australia gets it, as Oceania is the only confederation that hasn't hosted it yet. It's only fair.

  • @Dejjvid lol australia is part of AFC now... you left OFC right?

  • it would help the sport just like it did in 1994

  • the interviewer here knows whats up

  • football obama we call FOOTBALL and stupid jorge ramos se llama FUTBOL FUT-BOL

  • having it in th US..would promote** the sport

  • Que hace Univision por ayudar a prostestar acciones en contra de nuestra comunidad. NO hace nada Cristina o Don Francisco no proponen algo y ayudan a organizar con el poder de convocatoria que tienen pero no hacen nada.

  • i agree with andrebgood. the world cup is WAY bigger than the olympics. i would love to see the world cup here in the U.S

  • I guess its fair to give the world cup to a country who hasnt hosted a world cup but FIFA could make a shit load of money if they gave it to England 2018 and USA 2022. They wouldnt have to build any stadiums and the USA is building new NFL and MLS stadiums. FIFA lost out on a lot of money by having it in South Africa with all the money put in to building new stadiums

  • i love america and would enjoy another world cup there but so soon?

give qatar a chance. i want to see world cup in my home. :(

  • i want MEXICO or usa to host!!!!!

  • come on!!! they hosted in 1994, why not give a shot for other countrys who never hosted it like australia!

  • u have a point i would love to see the u.s host it again but austarlia wont have a strong bid bcuz the attendance in the a-league is low but i think australia is a bad ass country and would love to see the wc there

  • How fake is this video? You would think the US invented football the way the presenters are speaking. I'm pleased for increasing popularity of 'soccer' in the US but another world cup so soon? England will get 2018 and seems to have the strongest bid, will have the best stadia and like Germany a great infrastructure. Maybe USA in 2022 but they had their chance recently in 1994. I would like to see Australia have their chance. Open wide for some SOCCCEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  • U forget soccer is also a business and the USA's stadiums have an average capacity of nearly 80,000 people with a total capacity for over 5 million tickets!! And for the so called great English bid it's surprisingly weak u have only 2 stadiums that have 80,000 capacity and 3 stadiums under the fifa minimum of 40,000 and 4 stadiums that need to be upgraded plus u might not get the minimum of 12 stadiums tell me how is it that England has the strongest bid?

  • Has any one been to L.A

    Soccer is Huge out there.

Even in High School soccer it gets the attention of alot of people.

    2018 Usa

  • australia for 2018 or 2022

  • very true what he said...soccer is extremely popular amongst kids but somehow as u grow n u leave high school this dies.

  • leeds0united is right but Australia should have 2018 world cup Australia is coming to beat and verse the best teams it is like how usa had it 94 also we have stadiums hich can go 100,000 plus

  • This is probably one of the few things I can agree with this president. It would be awesome. Has it really been 15 years? I remember it like it was only yesterday, that final in Pasadena was amazing and I thought Roberto Baggio was going to drop dead after missing that shot. Mexico hosted 1970 and 1986 so I am sure US has a chance.

  • let s make it happen hahahahha

    lets go new york!

  • the usa should def get the world cup in 2018 oe 2022. they have yet to break the record for attendance which the usa broke in 1994! it would be great for the usa as a country!

  • and with new bigger stadiums and increasing popularity in soccer we can break the record the usa set

  • Sure soccer is big in the U.S. But, FOOTBALL is everyone else's sport - And no bigger passion or support comes from any where else but ENGLAND. Five divisions below the top league we still pull in over 1,000 attendances. The play-offs for that league pulls over 40,000 in. Compare that to any other country...

  • My prediction:

    2018 - England

    2022 - Australia

  • all the nfl and college football stadiums we have here man this countrys the perfect place 2 host the world cup

  • the world cup should only be hosted by a country were football is the number 1 sport!!! besides usa hosted it in 1994....England will get the 2018 world cup and they should...its the home of football and we havnt hosted it in 40 years....nuf said!

  • I hope that the world cup does come to the US so the world can see how nice the US is.

  • WC WC WC WC WC in USA USA USA~~~!!!!!

  • Woot!

  • usa is now a soccer nation!!!!

  • Why can't the US hold it? Because you already have just over twenty years ago.. Time to send it to Australia!

  • BBG1011

    im agree with you

why japan, korea want host 2018/2022 -.-

  • whats with everyone and australia?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Americans are actually crazy about soccer/football. Just look at ticket sales for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa - so far, Americans have purchased more tickets than any other country (aside from South Africa).

Bring the WC to the USA - it would be incredible!

  • @FootyFan2018 Not that i don't believe you because its possible, but where are you getting your information from? I would love to check it out. Please provide a link, thanks

  • dude look at your populationnn abviouslyy

your gonna have the most ticket sale

  • @FootyFan2018 lol nice

  • @FootyFan2018 they are not mad abot football... they are just too patriotic but believe me if usa did not qualify then you will not see a single american in south africa... a true football fans will watch football even if his team is not playing...

  • @FootyFan2018 That's because they have more money to spend compared to those other less fortunate countries where money is tight and people couldn't afford to go to the WC

  • @Frantzu Less than Germany, England, France, Italy, Spain, Japan and all the other European champions? Don't say things that you dont know, of course they can.

  • @FootyFan2018

The USA just had their own World Cup and it did pretty well but there still is very little Soccer fans here.

Theyre arent going to bring the Worled Cup to the USA anytime soon considering we just had one and this country isnt exactly known for its Soccer so why would they? The closest the World Cup is going to get to us is when it comes to Mexico or Canada.

  • I LOVE Obama!!!

  • That's why I voted for the man. ;p Hehe.

  • lol

  • I LOVE Obama!!!

  • It could happen but if FIFA wants a CONCACAF Federation i think Mexico has the upperhand.

  • Rock on Obama...I think you just earned my vote in 2012!

  • lol tru dat tru dat jk!!!!!!!

  • I will support it coming to the US. I would love to see a game in D.C. at RFK Stadium knowing if RFK will be around much longer.

  • No President has the "power" to have the world cup hosted. It's not the President's job, nor the government's job. That would be unconstitutional. He can support it, but not have it hosted without authority from the people.

  • soccer world cup is not the biggest sporting event the olympics are, but it is the biggest single sport event in the world

  • mate...sorry...world cup is bigger than olympics. You just need to watch it from outside US... its mad. Believe me!

  • @andrebgood No, it's genuinely not. Coming from a Brit, where it looks like we could get the world cup and we already have the olympics, the olympics are much bigger. The world cup is the biggest single sport event, the olympics is the biggest multi sport event, you do the math.

  • @Clarkey4boro hmm... russia won...

  • @Clarkey4boro A CITY hosts the Olympics eg. Tokyo - 1964, Seoul - 1980. A country (or two) hosts the world cup eg. Japan and S. Korea in 2000.

  • @andrebgood Where im from in the USA its way bigger than the Olympics

  • WOW!!!! A President who cares about soccer.....

I hope Chicago gets it or a city that is close to where I'm living if the U.S. gets it!!!!!!!

  • Although Obama has the power to have the world cup hosted in the US, the upcoming one is in 2010 and it will be in South Africa. It will be another four years until the very next world cup and Obama may not even be re-elected to have it be in his presidency. Who knows? Maybe he will be re-elected and then we will just see.

  • FIFA is going to award the 2018 and 2022 World Cups in 2011

  • the 2018 and 2022 awards of world cup are in end of 2010 not 2011

  • I hope the World Cup comes to America.....and i didnt know Obama played soccer...lol.

  • I'd love the world cup to be held in America for other reasons than the president i'm sure (money in his mind) ( the game in mine).. Europe does play a very sound game compared to the US. Were learning though.. more and more are noticing the increased amount of skill and endurance it takes to play the game. Good Clip thanks!

  • were going to get it!

  • Awesome... anything to get this sport more high-level exposure in this country so our better athletes learn to appreciate, pursue it, and one day win us a trophy.

  • The USA held a good world cup in 1994, they could do it fine. But being British I hope it comes to the England.

  • Another reason why I happen to like President Obama, we definitely deserve to host the World Cup again. Considering the attention the '94 World Cup brought to American sports fans, not to mention the growth of MLS from its launch 2 years after and growing successes by U.S. national team since then really gives us a strong case to host the tournament once again, whether it'd be 2018 or 2022. Obama, you have my respect!

  • didn't work in 94, they don't deserve another one. Australia, England, Spain should get the next 3 at least.

  • soo true

  • gooooooolll

  • Couldnt agree more!

  • America and football? LOL!!!

they only play girly games like baseball!

  • futbolllllllllll

  • Americans should get more interested in 'global football' before they host it's World Cup. Not the other way around.

  • I love Obama, but whenever Americans talk about "Soccer" it's always half-hearted. I'm being extremely bias but I think us English need a go at hosting the world cup, I mean we did invent the sport. ;)

  • lol no you didnt dude

football has been played forever, it traces back to the chinese, way long ago

the english just put it down on writing

  • England invented football as its known today and wrote the rules we all follow. Your reasoning says the english invented American football (rugby).

though the "As it's known" reasoning means the US invented pizza. (Brooklyn cooks took the italian pie and made it into the disc we know today)

  • american football is NFL not rugby

  • A sport is difined by its rules, the British invented Football, golf, tennis, boxing, badminton, table tennis etc. The USA invented abseball but the UK invented softball. The USA or Canada invented gridiron. As I say the US would host a great world cup. But England hasn't had the world cup since 1966and we have our new wembley.

  • your new wembley has also had loads of problems with the pitch unfortunately :(

  • I agree. As an American, we don't like soccer enough to host an event like this. England would do a better job.

  • Americans love football, they just are not very good at it.

  • wow...Obama is on fire, just giving the people wat they want

lebron James of politics, clutch playa!!!

  • Does Obama actually say "Good to see ya, bro'!" right before the ending? That's fantastic

  • Lol... I don't know man, it got drowned out a little bit...coulda been Paul or something. We can Hope though.

  • and there' s another reason why I voted for him.

  • stand beside him not behind him u fool

  • Just make sport betting legal in the USA and you will see surge in attendance!

  • I don´t know about that, those Manchester Unite guys could tear down any stadium.

  • President Obama is usually a very good speaker (even without teleprompter and notes)...

But since he took his presidency...his 1-ish hour of sleep per night has really affected his speaking.

Same with Hillary Clinton (and almost everyone in the Administration, they must have very little sleep).

They all have "uh"'s in their speech a lot now.

  • yawn

  • LMAO...this was one of the top watcehd videos in Canada today. Typical Canadian voyeur mentality of the US. Have fun in 2010 Canucks!

  • AGREED!!

me and a friend were talking about this....soccer is probably the most popular youth sport in the USA. but when the kids get older they start to play either basketball, baseball or football...

a world cup here will make the sport more popular amonst a more mainstream crowd here

  • OBAMA

  • United States was the host in 1994 I dont see a reason why they should host again

  • World Cup in USA?

    Dude, that'd be insane(:

  • maybe if the U.S can field a team competitive enough to play a world cup in the U.S would be more meaningful...especially to americans...

  • Obama is a great president and he will be remember on the history books forever

  • England - 2018

    United States - 2022

Be fine by me, and who knows what the national team and league will be like in 13 years. Every bit helps it making it happen, well done Mister President.

  • it's true - in america the opportunities to play soccer as a youth is immense, but as you get older, your options dwindle drastically.

  • US SOCCER ! US needs another World Cup.

  • I hope that we do host the world cup, it'll shed light on this amazing sport that is revered all around the world except for USA and their football. (which isn't even played right and the title is wrong as well)

  • world cup here!

  • Am from Scotland and i agree it would be amazing to host it over there. America's a cool country. pitty football isn't so big over there but lets hope this would help a bit.

  • i really dont like obama but if he can help the popularity of soccer here in america im all for it.

  • You tell them Obama!

  • RESPECT.

  • I voted for Obama

    yesssirr

  • I bet he's a Chicago Fire fan :D

  • hahaha probably!!

  • That's what I'm talkin about Mr. President!

  • I didn't support him in the election, but now he's my president and I decided to get behind him. I guess I made the right choice.

  • GOBAMA, He's perfect after all lol

  • Nobody's perfect.

  • agreed.

  • cool;

  • Forget the economy. This should be a priority. :-P

  • You must have never experienced what it's like during recession.

  • Hosting large events like the World Cup are boons to the economy. Large amounts of tourism dollars, extra workers taking tickets, selling food and souvenirs, construction dollars to shore up infrastructure needed to host the games (fixing highways, repairing stadiums, etc). This should be a priority because of the help to the economy it would provide :P
