In this video at 2:21 you miss the important part of the story - the stealing of the pig - because there's so much "clutter" in the whole scene you can't pick up the small action of the pig being stolen amongst all the people and actions going on in the frame.
In "modern" filmmaking there would be a cut-in to a close up showing the pig being stolen.
