Also, there were few of us, across the globe, who provided communications to and from Croatia and bosna and hercegovina. We are "silent" minority who were part of croatian war of indenpendence.. We all, were at one stage in our life, members of foreign army's signal core units.

Basically, they were saying that they came to Croatia in 1991 because in their countries (Netherlands, France, UK) everyone was shocked by what was going on in Croatia, but no one was doing anything about it. These guys decided that they can't watch this happen on TV and do nothing, so they decided to come to defend liberty and democracy. They're all very proud of their participation in the war, and when they see children walking to school in Vukovar, they know it was worth it.
