my heart stops right before the budweiser jump...every single time i watch it. It never ceases to amaze me, the riding skills of these two. i bow down to thee :)
seaworld jumps are so spooky! they are shiny and big and awwww! I was hacking my pony around in the jumper ring because the others were closed so they let riders use it. but it was all set up for the grand prix in a few days and so all the riders and I went around and lowered the jumps a bit. and then we hacked and like 1 rider fell off and 3 had their horse/ ponies spook from the seaworld jump including me. haha fun day
omg this is so funny, I looked up little big man because that's my pony's show name, and like all of these horses came up that can jump like 6ft, and he is kinda chubby so he can only jump like 2'6'' or 2'9'' max, hahaha ;) he dreams of being like them someday :P
What a ride!!! Great horse and rider, obviously a lot of time and effort have gone into that partnership. Gretababy is obviously hasn't got a clue!!! I would be so happy to get myself and my horse to half that standard!!!!
what I love is that even though laura and little big man soar through courses she somehow manages to ride with a fairly loose rein. I mean shiz to the nits.
Yeah, I agree with EquiSoup, it's a jump-off and your supposed to clear the jumps and make good time. If you can do that you can win it. Thats the point of her going to so fast! As long as you can make the jump it's not considered going 'to fast'.
PonyRiderForver123 you are horribly stupid. She won didn't she? Going too fast over a jump? Unless the horse and rider were incapable that wasn't too fast. I'd like to see you do it. Or do you even know how to ride?
to fast? this is a JUMP OFF sweetie, the whole point is to go as fast and as clean as you can....and your not supposed to kick in mid air over the jump...these jumps are huge you are supposed to kick after and before the jumps...would you like to be going over a 5 foot jump kicking or holding on? makes the world of difference doesnt it...? maybe beacause you ride a pony you kick in the air over the one foot jump you jump but its a whole different thing on a horse jumping huge.
ponyriderforever its the jump off thats why she isnt supposed to jump the course like a hunter rider she has to go fast to win ov you wouldnt win in a jumper show cuz your a hunter she wasnt giong to ffast she was getting the distance's
kickin correctly while in mid position of the jump???
i dont know how yhu ride - but i know most showjumpers dont kick in mid position of the jump, but when landin the squeeze with their legs to keep the energy flowin forwards and as for a bit too fast??? to win a jump off you have to have the quickest time and no faults, her horse wasn't out of control in the canter. what do you expect her to do - go round in collected trot?
in a jump off it as all about who is the fastest and knocks down the least rails. it doesn't matter how you look, though riding ability is a plus for you and the horse. :P
ive been to the pa nat. horse show dozens of times, horses always spook at the seaworld jump. laura is a great rider and handled the course beautifully.
and also so what if you have been around horses most of your life so have meny other peope and that would be including me!and horses only go lame if the rider jumpsthem stupidly and the fuck up there legs thats probs what you have seen! and if you read the title you will c it has jump-off on it witch meens getting oround the course as fast as you can without getting faults!!!!
can i just say to :'gretababy18' i think the onlu reason she got round that course is beacause she had full controll and the pony worked for her she knew what she was doing and even if she did come to close to the jump she proberly had planned to do that as she had compleate faith in her horse and knew that the horse would do it.
Amen! This ride STILL gives me goosebumps every time I watch it; I'm so glad I was there to see it in person. That's one thing that kills me about Youtube, especially the equestrian community--everyone's a critic, and suddenly everyone's an "expert."
Dude...Lauras a fantastic rider, she had total control over Big Man and he was havin a blast. Lame? Seriously...are u even thinking that? Wow please never jump a horse, you have no concept of it.
i do jump and i was taught to not rush jumps and plan the course that your gonna take, even if it is staduim. if she had control of him then how come she cut that corner really really bad to the point that shes lucky she didn't hit that post? and yea jumping is a blast but seriously i've been around horses most of my life and i've seen plenty turn up lame after a jump round like that.
Your going to compare yourself to Laura? Ha..hahahaha. Its a Grand Prix and a JUMP OFF thats why she cut that corner, thats WHY she had control so that she could make sure a turn, luck had nothing to do with it, percise riding did. If your horses or horses u've been around come up lame because of a round like this, the had serious issues or were so pooly built they should be jumping to begin with. Cold, hard facts.
yeah, gretababy perhaps you don't know who Laura Chapot is.... try googling her. you'll realize your first comment is completely and totally unfounded. and then to compare yourself to her?? humorous, to say the least. you appear to have no real knowledge of professional riding or even the jumpers for that matter. that ride was brilliant. gutsy, yes.. but that is part of what made it great (& part of what a jump off is all about). and with a talented horse like Little Big Man. perfect combo.
If you know so much, and you're so right and so much better then Laura, i'd love to see her and you in a jump off. She has the most trust with LBM, and you should see her in other rides. She's amazing. Your completely retarded
@gretababy18 Do you even know anything about showjumping?
Little Big Man is one of the best horses our generation will ever see- and he was NOT lame after this. He and Chapot went on to win plenty more events.
Sorry, if you want to use it, you have to pull it from here. I am not doing the legwork. Not saying that to sound like a brat, but I don't give out my email on here.
last time i saw her at monmouth county grand prix with Little Big Man she rode in a hackamore, it was absolutely amazing until the last fence. She pushed too hard and he didn't have room to take off. I love them both though, they are amazing together!
omg, both this woman and her horse are AMAZING, no doubt about it. i'm pretty sure i would've killed myself if i tried that budweiser jump on such a tight turn. XD
I swear I get goosebumps every time I watch this video. She and that horse are amazing. That is hands down the best ride I have ever seen in my life. I hope to someday have half the talent she has.
Woah! Look at those turns! gawd, If I tried that on my horse I would've wiped out after the first turn! Awesome vid, She is a wicked rider, and look at that horses reach! OMG It's huge! :D
OMG, this video makes you want to cheer and ride and ride and ride. YES the little horses inch for inch can jump bigger than most 17H horses. My daughter's 13.2 pony jumps 3'6" and my 16H only 4' in comparison! Whahoo
that was very good!!! congrats...you did awsome and for the person a couple comments down I LOOOOOVE BEZZIE MADDEN AND AUTHENTIC THEY ARE AMAZING>>>I WENT TO SEE THEM AT THE GRAND PRE IN LAS VEGAS TOO BAD BOUT THE FALL HUH?
Holy fricken cow. That long spot after the Budweiser reminds me of that AMAZING long spot that Authentic took with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum in the WEG (at least, I think Meredith was riding him. It was when they all changed horses. It could have been Beezie).
I am just an observer, but I have never seen such a display of horse uphoria with rider before in my life. This is a special moment and this horse just loves to jump. Fortunetly the rider knows how to guide the exuberant horse!!! Bravo!

to rawrty- the class with the biggest jumps at the show will be the $25,000 Pennsylvania Big Jump (FEI). generally the class with the biggest prize money and anything marked FEI (unless its childrens) will have huggeee jumps.
OMG that's like my friend in the Future! hands up in the air, going as fast as she can, screaming to get over the jump! creepy lol! (i am not saying my friends rides like that all the time lol just when she wants to win just like this rider lol)
Haha, it's so funny that the crowd starts cheering before she finishes the jumpoff. At most of the shows I've been too, especially the bigger ones, everyone tends to hold their breath until the hindlegs clear the last fence. I guess everyone really did know she was going to win, lol.
wow for a sec i thought you ppl were saying she is ridng thats not her riding that look at the top were you would suscribe to this sn and it says Laura Chapot and Little Big Man--one of the most amazing rides I've had the opportunity to witness. You just knew she'd win the jump off from the moment she came in the ring. so there she isnt riding at all
Little Big Man has more heart than any other horse I've ever seen enter the international ring

Third, you'd never see them fall off on the same day at the same show.
I was proven wrong.

to rawrty- the class with the biggest jumps at the show will be the $25,000 Pennsylvania Big Jump (FEI). generally the class with the biggest prize money and anything marked FEI (unless its childrens) will have huggeee jumps.

I think it was on Saturday. If you google "Pennsylvania National Horse Show," you can see their website and last year's schedule from this show.

Huge...I'm not 100 percent sure, but the spreads between poles on the oxers has to be like 5 1/2 feet or so...

Little big man is an amazing jumper, he gives me chills-I'm thinking he's 15.2 hh, if I remember right.

Amazing jumpoff. The horse did really well to pick up over one spread after the red planks. Very clever little horse!
