  • So I was sitting here, with my computer muted, and it took me until 00:40 to notice that there was a person talking.

  • Torrent :P

  • Hello this a tutorial on how to draw on photoshop :) and if you dont have a copy of photoshop or the ability to draw then i CANT help you :) ( wtf) XD

  • dont torrent it, download the trial and use a crack ;)

  • i dont have other dynamics!!! :( help!

  • I see your bittorrent ...lol

  • How the fuck do I do the "The harder you push the thicker the line is" thing?

It doesn't work even when I turn on "other Dynamics"...

    Please Help me

  • @FaggotsFreaksFools Make sure that when other dynamics is turned on that 'size jitter' is set to pen pressure in the drop down menu.

Otherwise try reinstalling your tablet drivers and restarting your PC. Sometimes computer tablet drivers start conflicting with photoshop and stop working.

  • @Crusader1089 Thank you very much, it works now!

    You rock.

And think about the Wheatley thing! :D

  • @FaggotsFreaksFools And how do you do this without a tablet ?

  • AW MAH GAWD PLEAAAASE do a wheatley voice!

Your native speaking voice sounds SOOOO much like Wheatley from Portal 2!!!

  • thumbs up if you didn't watch the whole video because his voice is boring -_-

  • This video helped me a lot.

  • for anyone that doesn't have photoshop, Google > Search "Photoshop Online" > Click the one with the small green text that says pixlr :)

Just send me a PM if you got any problems 8D

  • thank you very much for the tutorial :) really helped. I like the funny intro. I don't know if it's intentional but you sound like Wheatley on Portal 2

  • @BiGizME Ha ha, thank you but it wasn't intentional. This video game out when portal 1 was still a new game! Glad I could help :)

  • fuck this pen and paper it is -__- lol

  • you torrented it, bitch, i can hear it in your voice xD

  • I go to school and I have time to screw around on PS but I still have to pay $1000 for the program. I don't know where you guys get your insane student prices but you should hook me up because I want an $800 refund.

  • @Rayzor199 type exactly this into amazon "Adobe Photoshop Extended CS5 Student and Teacher Edition"

  • @Crusader1089 OMG thats a huge discount!!!

  • @Rayzor199 It's almost as if you can't get it completely free within half an hour.

  • @Rayzor199 D: you buy things dude i should say check out piratebay

  • @Rayzor199 In my school we get all the adobe softwares free

  • If you didn't torrent photoshop you wasted your money...

  • @bananabread112 That or just being a cheep sack of crap, if you're a student in anything, you can get PSCS5 for $200, if not, sucks for you, should go to school if you have time to screw around on PS

  • @Blackearedwolf Okay free vs. $200?? Hmm. I'd chose free. Sure I'm a "cheap sack of crap," as you say. But at least I'm not stupid and hostile to people I don't even know. :)

    kthxbai

  • @bananabread112 Stealing my friend, I swear people like you get so old I have to use a dust pan. "kthxbai!!!!!!"

  • i just tryed 3000 Pixels/Inch an it ran extremely smoothly :P

  • @zEnlightenz Well computers have come a long way in the last three years.

  • @HDMIForce you can invert your mouse buttons so you can make your mouse left handed.

  • What about Elements?

  • @frowlong When using elements you can adjust most of the options by clicking additional brush options when you have the Brush activated, it's not as comprehensive as the full photoshop but it's possible to make it work :)

  • Where can i buy a tablet?

  • @earth1552 Try amazon

  • ohh wait.. cs6?

    Does that work?

  • If you don't have photoshop you can always use the GIMP, which is free. It's not as good as photoshop but they are in the process of updating it. Can't wait for it's next release which will include line smoothing.

  • I use Photoshop Elements 9, and I can't find the brushthingy u get in 2:44...

How do I find it? ):

  • You don't have to use multiple layers, it's in fact stupid :P draw better.

  • funny british accent dude!!... anyways very helpful!

  • Hi! thanks for your tutorials.

i really want to learn to draw in photoshop can you please tell me what tablet i should buy (i'm somewhat of a beginner)

Would a bamboo ($70-$100) be sufficient? or do i need a nicer tablet??

    thanks!

  • Can I buy like a "touchpad" that I can have next to my keyboard and sketch with it into my PC? And if... Got any links/names on them?

  • You torrented photoshop and you know it bitch

  • @D3THFAN This person is trying to help u with drawing , so shut up BITCH ! -.-

  • you sound like ashens

  • you know... If you wan't <----- priceless

  • lol, i like this guy

  • what's a good tablet to start out with in your opinion?

  • Just finished watching and iv'e got to say...I loved this tuorial Adrian. You've got such an extraordinary personality by the way :p

  • 3000 per inch will break your pc, Challenge exepted !

    9999,9 Worked without a problem :)

  • " I suggest you find a coppy on ebay, or.. if you want to.. be illegal and torrent it.

Y'know.. if you want.. it's what most peopel seem to do.. I didn't :( "

( Has BitTorrent in the taskbar *I lied face* )

    ^_^

  • How difficult is it to draw in photoshop elements? Because I have that and I can't afford photoshop.

  • @RaisedByBadgers pretty easy you just have to know where things are in Elements.

  • if i had a tablet i could draw anything! using a mouse LOL!

  • how can i make like a circle and a cirle in it with an sx in the circle thats in the other one, if you dont understand, come to my tinychat and i will show u wat i mean, message me on utube ASAP i really need help.

  • god..people and their videos..... first minute was pointless. why would ANYONE try to find out how to draw on photoshop when they DONT HAVE ONE....lmfao.

  • i have a problem :( i'm left handed and i can only draw with my left hand but i have to hold my mouse in my right hand :(

  • @HDMIForce This is a tutorial for using a tablet. Wacom tablets are designed to be used by both right or left handed people

  • @Crusader1089 great idea i'll go ahead and buy a one

  • @Crusader1089 I am very big on drawing characters. If I may ask what is the general size you make a canvas for drawing a character?

  • @Crusader1089 how much is a tablet cuz i dont have much money?

  • @Crusader1089 What Wacom Tablet did you use?

  • @HDMIForce i am sorry for u :)

  • @HDMIForce im left handed too !. i draw on my tablet with my left hand and use the mouse at the same it :D i never thought being left handed was better

  • @HDMIForce there is a option in windows: start/control panel/mouse, explore there till you find something with switch hand or something, it should change buttons configuration on mouse for left hand usage....

  • @alexandrumihai9 but i can't use my mouse with my left hand :D

  • @HDMIForce u can swich the right and left click in settings

  • @smaklilu90 yeah the problem is i can't control the mouse with my left hand

  • @HDMIForce Just use a tablet! I got one today and I use it for everything! I also had the same problem as you. I recommend a WACOM Bamboo Tablet

  • Oh my goodness, yay! Thank you so much for making this! I'm a traditional artist, and I really wanted to expand to digital work, but never had the slightest clue how people erased their underlying sketches. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • i got mouse on a destop so could i get a tab and if could how much are they and one more thing my pen presher wont work why

  • @wolfpupinapack Pen pressure only works with pen tablets--it's because you're using a mouse and it's difficult (impossible) to vary the pressure of a mouse click.

  • Thanks alot i got a new lap top that came with photoshop and had no clue how to use it

  • I normally just lower the pointer speed from the Mouse Options whenever i draw.Instead of a tablet.

  • I think I felt a little sick in my gut when you said 3000 dots per inch. XD (What kind of computer does this guy have?!?)

  • i so gotta buy a tablet!

  • @AlphaKrizz best buy, bamboo pen + tablet 70$ on sale

  • I think I am doing something wrong, but I selected 13 size brush but it makes a THICK and BLACK line. Did I do something wrong?

  • @Maplestaff you probably have the scale small, the larger the scale of the image the smaller the brush would look

  • lol I found an easy way to draw Laptops only: try double taping the mouse pad to draw and double tap it again to stop :D easy way

  • It sounds like this tutorial was done by Matt Smith.

  • watch?v=MqjpI6vSso8

  • I JUST got a 80 dollar tablet. Bamboo, was it worth it?

  • THANK YOU!

    YOU USE PHOTOSHOP 7

  • hey mate, just wondering, iv seen some sort of gridding going on in some sketching tutorials in which the artist pulls the grid pulling the rest of the drawing, looks really good for birds eye view and worm eye view drawings, any idea how you go about doing that?

  • @ninjanut18 ok first of all were all bananas :D

second i recommend a wacom bamboo pen tablet

  • 3000 pixels didn't break my PC, and it's a weak laptop... =D

  • @EnduringInsanity 3000 pixels wouldn't. If you had 3000 pixels PER INCH it would (that's more than 25000 pixels across)

  • @Crusader1089 nope, computers working fine.

  • skeleton, probably spelt wrong, i don't know, and I don't care xDDD

  • You funny :)

  • You have to have photoshop! If you dont have photoshop i can't Help you with that. Sorry!

  • @ninjanut18 When I bought my first tablet I didn't know the first thing about photoshop either. I'd advise getting the book "how to draw digital manga" which is a book about using photoshop for digital art, not necessarily manga, and is how I learnt most of the basics. Also the deviant art community is great for tutorials. You can very quickly figure out your favourite techniques.

$43 is a pretty good deal for a tablet, and not too much if you find you don't like it.

  • @Crusader1089 can you please help i really want to get good a this stuff do you know what a tablet is and how long does it take to get as good as you?

  • @Crusader1089 I just got a tablet, and i'm trying to figure out photoshop. I am having trouble with the 'other dynamics' brush. It doesn't act like a pencil, it is the same thickness/hardness all the time. Is there a way to fix this?

  • @TheCaptainOfRamen This is a common problem, here's a quick trouble shoot:

Check the box for other dynamics and then click on the words 'other dynamics' to open the other dynamics menu. Check that the opacity jitter drop down menu is set to Pen Pressure.

Try restarting photoshop (sometimes photoshop's pressure sensitivity doesn't load properly)

Try reinstalling (or updating) your tablet drivers.

    Try restarting your PC.

If all else fails your tablet might be faulty. It happens. Send it back.

  • @Crusader1089 what are the settings off shape dynamics and other dynamics (around 2:47)

  • what i want is a tut that teaches u how to colour and do digital painting :-(

  • TORRENT ROCK'S!

  • lol crusader's funny XD

  • Thank you for this wonderful tutorial, I was wondering which brush to use, you sir are amazing TY!

  • my name is chuck norris

  • Tablet 60 dollars? Totally worth it.

  • I love these videos and they help a lot. thank you for posting them. you should keep em coming

  • I used mouse because I can't afford a tablet. I'm just a student who likes drawing, thanks for the tutorial though :)

  • Does anyone know if the Brushes Windows is available in Photoshop Elements 9?

  • As a skeletons I use 3 circles as the body 2 reasonable size one and a smaller one in the middle.

  • i highly doubt most people torrenting photoshop ever make money from their photoshop work, so what does it matter. it is in adobe best interest to let people download and use for free on a wide scale so that more and more people use photoshop, making it the most common and there for purchased tool in a professional industry. in other words, adobe are not counting the individuals that purchase their software, they are counting the amount of licenses a business will buy for their many staff.

  • To use 'other dynamics' you need a tablet right?

  • on papper "Noooo, im gonna loose everything!"

    XD hahahahaha, so true

  • is there any option other than the tablet? thanks

  • Which button you press to make perfect lines?

I do not understand what you say in the video because I can not speak English.

  • can i do this with photoshop elements 8.0 to?

  • I don't have a tablet, they're expensive and not really usefull in my case.

  • @ScOrPiOnE905 If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a tablet i found one on amazon.com for around $37

  • @HostTwilightfan1010 Wow,I'm going to look for it.

  • @ScOrPiOnE905 It's called a VT PenPad

  • @ScOrPiOnE905 Glad to help :)

  • Crusader, I don't mean to waste your time with such a trivial question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere, surprisingly: At 2:02, your brush has an effect similar to Flash's default brush effect; the line you draw seems to thin out towards each end. How can I access this effect in Photoshop? Thank you for your time.

  • @TheSameFourNotes I use a wacom tablet and this is the only way to get that effect in photoshop using the brush tool (there are other ways I can detail if necessary). Using a tablet go to the brushes window and make sure that shape dynamics is checked. Then go to size jitter and in the drop down set it to pen pressure. This means that the harder to you press the thicker the line is. In this tutorial Other Dynamics is also checked to make the line semi-transparent for sketching.

  • @Crusader1089 by Wacom table.. u MEan the BAMBOO one? cuz thats then oen im using,, :D BAMBOO small box was named BAMBOO fun :D

  • can you teach me can to draw swords and make them glow like the LICh KING!!

  • I can help you all getting photoshop! ;)

  • Is it only in paint were you get the tool to make a straight line? No matter how hard I try I can't draw with the pencil tool! (with a mouse) But with the "straight-line" tool i can! And well... In piant you can't do shades and stuff so it's kinda boring drawing in paint. Plz can someone tell me if I can get that tool to a REAL painting program? Thx. (excuse the bad english, I'm from sweden)

  • @DeadTeddy17 If you use the pen tool you can use it like the straight line tool in paint. It will only draw a thin line until you tell it to stroke a line. It is a fairly easy process. If I were you I'd try searching for "inking pen tool tutorial" on the deviant art webpage. There's some good tutorials of how to do it there.

  • Dear Crusader, or what your real name may be. I just strated today, in photoshop ofcourse. I'm going to buy a wacom tablet asap, I can draw pretty good in real live, though Photoshop is so damn complicated! Do you have any advise for me? Or maybe where I can find some good information about drawing in photoshop? The bottom line is That I DON'T get it, I hope you can help me. Oh and Btw nice tutorial.

  • @xXMooverlordXx If you follow what's outlined in this and my other tutorials you should get a reasonable grasp of it. Otherwise I can suggest "How to draw digital manga" as a great book to get you started with the basics of photoshop for drawing. It gives lots of info of how to use photoshop for art - even if you're not into manga or anime. As for general advice... just play around with it, see what you can do with the tools. Easiest way to learn.

  • WTF I USED 3000 pIxEL AM MY COMPUTER CRASHED>... and so it got me into an agrument with my girl.. i had to kick her out... now your video has broken out relationship...BUT HEY I LEARNED HOW TO DRAW ON PHOTOSHOP...OH YEAH!!!

  • @JhosefL 1920 x 1080 is a way enough

  • cant you make the page any bigger on screen??

  • Add some boobs.

  • at 2:02 i laugh when you say very huge...hehe

BTW thanks...know i know how to draw on adobe cs3 but I didn't enjoy it...cause I'm using a PC....gonna save money to buy a tablet

    thanks again =]

  • I doubt i'd want to listen to a man who uses the eraser tool for erasing everything drawn instead of just using ctrl+a and clear it. apart from this, educational video, unfortunately for me i suck at drawing, but practice makes perfect i guess. theres tutorials for that too.

  • @rabcor Because this is a tutorial I wanted to go slow. I used the eraser tool so I wasn't moving too fast for people to follow. The resolution for youtube wasn't very good back in 2008 and people wouldn't have been able to see what I was doing if I went too fast.

  • @rabcor u got pawned in the butt :D

  • you assumed wrong! you can help me even if i dont have photoshop, (getting the plugins on paint.net as best i can)

  • hay man was having a hard time doing bodys and so on in photoshop this is a really really nice guide tho Thanks! :)

  • What is a computer tablet

  • I have two questions:

What is the size of the document you're starting out with, I can't tell on the video.

Also, does it affect your drawing not to have pressure sensitivity on your tablet?

  • @SkysFurrow I used an A4 page at 300dpi which is about 2400*3000. Without pressure sensitivity you won't have increasing or decreasing opacity or decreasing or increasing line width. This is not an unconquerable barrier but will make it harder and my tutorials will be.... mostly useless to you.

  • thank you for making this i have no idea how to use photoshop and this video will help me develope my skills as an artist thank you for making this. and next month im getting a tablet for my bd yay so ive just been practising where all the stuff is for now. once again thank you

  • just download it in trial.

  • im starting out following tutorials but with the tablet does it need to be a stupidly expensive on or can it be a cheapish one around £35? would buy a better one when my skill improves :)

  • @theMinty87 You can learn on a cheaper tablet, but would recommend only Wacom brand tablets. I have heard many horror stories from other manufacturers, naming no names.

  • i have used painter since 11 came out, and wanted to learn ps in addition. this was the most informative tut ive found yet

  • It is about time someone had the sense to make a decent tutorial thank you so much

    this helped a lot!

  • What kind of brash is that that you use?

  • what is tablet..sry for asking i'm dumb ^^

  • @Graffiti313Junkie its like a pad where you can use a "pen" to draw instead of using a mouse

  • Lol love your kickass attitude, "I don't know if that's the proper way to spell skeleton, but I don't know and I don't care." :D

  • Oh, god! I like this tutorial! :DD

  • this is really great, thanks :)

BUT WHAT THE HELLS A TABLET

hahaha sorry im a newbie i dunno what it is :O

  • @LorenaAwesomeChannel It's a drawing board. You plug it in to the computer, and then you use something called a graphicspen to draw on the board. It does not show on the board, but it does on the screen, it can be used as a mouse too, but it is usually used to draw things with. Hope it helps :) I have one, you can buy some cheap tresures at amazon.com :D

  • @BenAdams98 OH no wonder drawings it tutorials come out so good! I've been doingdrawings with a mouse the whole time -.-

hardest shiz ever. ah ok thanks so much :D

  • @LorenaAwesomeChannel No problem! ^^

  • almost noone has a drawing tablet

  • @KAKALXLAX In my experience most artists who wish to go into digital art buy a tablet in the end. If you want to use a mouse that's fine, but I can't help you with that because I make tutorials for people who have tablets.

  • @Crusader1089 Well said. Tablets are awesome.

  • @Crusader1089 which is the best size and brand for this kind of things (drawing and animation)?

  • @KAKALXLAX Wacom are the best company that makes tablets. I wouldn't recomend getting one from any other company despite their high price point. They just work best. If you're on a budget a Wacom Bamboo A5 will get you started and is good for learning the basics. If you want to compete with the champion artists and animators you should really get an Intuos A3 tablet. Or a Wacom Cintiq, which is what the Simpsons and Family Guy use.

  • @Crusader1089 tnks for the tip, which size do u think that is the most confortable to work with?

  • ohh,I always thought that people just used a mouse,&kept wondering to myself, how the heck do they do it so well when it's so difficult to control a mouse when sketching. Now I understand how they do it(yes,I realize that I'm pretty stupid for not realizing this earlier).Anyway, that little piece of info is very helpful for me,because I've been so reluctant to try web art because of the difficulty to control the cursor,w/the tablet, it's just like drawing on paper :) Thx so much4this tutorial^‿^

  • @KAKALXLAX I do, and I'm 13..?

  • @BenAdams98 so?

  • @KAKALXLAX that's not entirely true. I have a tablet and go to deviantart or something - people buy tablets.

  • Hey, I've been wanting to draw with photoshop for ages, having been limited to paint, but I finally got it. Although I have a tablet, I can't get the dynamics to work, it's all block solid and not pressure sensitive, how do I sort this out do you know?

  • @EmoCookieBambi In Photoshop go Windows>Brushes from the top tool bar and make sure that the line width variation is set to pen pressure. If that doesn't work.... Try installing the latest drivers for the driver, try restarting the program, try restarting the computer. Check the wacom control panel to see if it is a tablet or photoshop problem. If it is the tablet try calling their tech support, you might have a faulty tablet. If it is photoshop I'm out of ideas.

  • @EmoCookieBambi Latest drivers for the tablet, sorry

  • Thanks, it's certainly going to help me! I have a wacom bamboo tablet a5 size (it's not much, but it's MUCH better than using my mouse). So, thanks for this, I'm moving to the "how to draw / ink tutorial" and, uh... greetings from Poland, I presume. =)

    See ya!

  • I wish my teachers sounded like you, I might be able to pay attention if they did. XD

  • whats a good and cheap tablet , please help me buy one , pls

  • @trolior Try a Wacom Bamboo. There are some cheaper tablets, but I tend only to trust wacom. Other companies have more variable results.

  • Lol what happens if I do 3000?

    Just curious, :D
