  • i fuckin love this song

  • This is the shit!

  • I don't think that this will ever stop being my favorite song.

  • holy fcuk...that was deadly! wow

  • Wow never saw video of them onstage before (from the songwriting era of theirs that I loved the most). In the big arena rock plane of performance...U2 Bono and the Edge step to the rear of the stage..these guys' much heavier skills just blow you off the stage

  • Hear That?... The sound of an Ambulance saving peoples lives from their own decay.

  • I keep coming back to this performance, something I cannot say of 99,9999999999% of the other live-footage on Youtube. No kidding, this is my favourite Radiohead song and this live version is awesome.

  • i love collins bass line as usual.

  • Comment removed

  • Colin is a badass. I don't care whether he looks like he has downs syndrome or not.

  • Great bass-line on 1:46

  • This is Radiohead's peak, without a doubt. 90's Radiohead was the best

  • @BabyWetsAllNight desagreed. the new stuff is awesome too, OK Computer was their fame peak because culture was different. people liked rock. now all they care about is shitty pop and reggaeton

  • great song mates !!

  • they have been peaking for 14 years

  • Que temón (muy buena versión!!!!)

  • My favorite band of all time

  • Live Radiohead...I needed this one.

  • Ed O Brian gets the underappreciated arpeggio duty.

I wonder how good he would be if let loose on a solo

  • I love the outro. I wish it were longer. I could listen to that riff all day.

  • @ChablesMan

one of the most euphoric outros ever !!!!

  • @ikenna59 Fuck yeah!

  • god that tremolo effect is so badass

  • FIERCE

  • can sum1 please tell me what guitar is thom using???

i wish he still play it this days but now he rathers an sg

  • @yeahyeahyaha2 its a 72 Thinline Telecaster :D

  • @yeahyeahyaha2 It's a 72 Deluxe Tele with custom electronics. I read somewhere it was stolen which is why he doesn't use it anymore. But I dunno if that's true or not.

  • this is so good, I want to fuckin' cry.

  • oh young thom

  • fuck me Caulfield789 u're right

another great version ia at hammerstein ballroom also in 97 but this is the best

  • @yeahyeahyaha2 For sure. Regrettably, the Belfort '97 bootlegs floating around out there are missing this, Climbing Up The Walls, and Fake Plastic Trees, all of which are (IMHO) among the best performances of those songs committed to tape.

  • @yeahyeahyaha2 yea really he seems really pissed in this vid

  • fucking awesome...just fucking awesome

  • PLANET TELEX MY IRON LING 2 OD THE best radiofucking head songs ever!!!!

  • 1:16 orgasm

  • hello everyone,

I was just looking out for some feedback on a song I just made called "KEEP ON", I just uploaded it on my channel and I would really like for some people out here to check it out and tell me what they think. It would be really helpful. :)

    Thanks in advance! :)

  • Everyone is broken...

  • They suck at being bad,

coz they wont be bad even if they try.

  • The Bends. Best Radiohead album in my opinion

  • this is the shit...these guy are pissed off on this tune....they're just pushing it over the top...just killing it....nobody can play in their sand box...they dont f- around...I mean this is mean...killer.

  • Time tells you if a band is really good. Radiohead get better with age.

  • Not hard to see why the critics hailed them as rock revolutionists, then hated them when they changed their sound right round.

  • r u kidding me they changed in a brilliant and brave way, the albums kid a and amnesiac are there weirdest in my opinion and yet theyre best

  • .... why would you thumbs down me for that?

  • i just wanna like do stuff with thom nothing bad lol. ;}

  • Notice the Apple sticker on Thom's guitar, I love that. <3

  • woow, this is radiohead :)

  • the intro to this song is used for the intro to a program on the cbc.. just like the chorus guitar riff over and over again.. so like in canada eh? lol...

  • does anybody agree that johnnys tone is amazing?

  • does anybody agree that you should shut the hell up?

  • @damndirtyRob just sayin.

  • @drewsky80 Jonny's tone is amazing.

  • @drewsky80 How do you mean? (sorry I'm a guitar layman)

  • Fuck tommorows music yesturdays music is the best. Period

  • You seem really smart.

  • what if someone had said that before radiohead?

  • even some songs in their 20th centery albums cant ttop planet telex

  • Radiohead siempre tiene buenos opener y de las canciones de cierre se puede decir lo mismo.

Me gustó esta interpretación en vivo; tiene mucha fuerza (cómo destripan esas guitarras...).

  • wow thom looks like RObert Denero in Taxi hahahaa

  • this is a great opener :)

anyone ekse think johnny greenwood looks like cillian murphy?

  • Hmm.. A little

  • A little.

  • ...IMPRESIONANTE VERSIÓN!!

  • Colin jumping round at the end out of pure joy really makes it for me.

  • hahaha Colin jumping around at the end is great

  • jon greenwood for President!!!

  • good god, no.

  • hahahaha

  • the bends has the greatest lyrical ending to an album ever

  • Kid A and In Rainbows come close.

  • yer i just love the "immerse your soul in love"

  • In Rainbows is insanely great.

4 Minute Warning is the best I've heard. The whole album seems like this journey towards a long-awaited and comfortable death, which is summed up in 4 Min Warning.

  • agreed. In Rainbows is epic. But then again, isn't everything Radiohead does?

I cant wait for the next album. Although songs like this make me miss Jonny Greenwood's lead guitar like a dead relative.

  • I COMPLETELY AGREE....i was watching this concert of theirs from 1995 where they played a lot of songs from Pablo Honey...and i was like MY GOD....it was so guitar oriented....Jonny beat the SHIT outta his guitar....no wonder he needed that wrist thingy.....Im in LOVE with In Rainbows...and the rest of their albums of course....but i do miss that GUITAR.

  • i think the bends has the best intro song... THIS ONE. better than everything in its right place.

you from pablo honey is a great opener too.

  • you? that song is bloody epic man.. 23/4 kicks ass.. but.. random bit of trivai.. in canada on the cbc there is a programme that uses this song as its intro.. (just the ambian noise and the chorus effect on those firstfew chords).

Id also say airbag is better, and 2+2=5

  • radiohead is just the all around best band at starting off albums imo. every one is great.

2+2=5, now that is epic :D

  • every opener they've had has been amazing! pakt like sardines kicks, but 15 steps kicks harder!

  • actually i think airbag is the best opener! but all their openers are great. start of the album with so much energy

  • i cant really choose my favorite opener. each one perfectly opens for its own respective album, but all the albums have such different personalities, its hard to pick one over the other... you know what i mean?

  • disagree, 'you' is the ultimate opener

  • I totally agree with you airbag is a masterpiece opener and it also introduces you to paranoid android and the rest of the album

  • I disagree, Everything in it's right place is just so freaking lovely ^_^

  • 2+2=5 is a fucking Cat5 hurricane of a song.

  • Go to sleep.

  • Comment removed

  • I started watching this with pants on

I am not wearing pants now...

    Enough said.

  • haha. nice

  • Amazing video! I just got The Bends album last week and haven't been able to stop playing it since. The opening (and closing) chords of this song just knock me flat every time I hear them! Wish there were more bands out there with this kind of originality, texture, and spirit.

  • best version!!

  • The best song on the bends by a mile. Well, maybe not a mile, Fake Plastic Trees and My Iron Lung come close.

  • dude theres so many great songs on that album, its almost unfair to single out any of them.

  • cool song

  • 1:46 on:

    Jonny's fantastic fret wanking

  • In many respects, this IS The Bends. This in a nutshell is what it represents, by lyrics and sonic landscape. Good news? The Bends kicks A@@ bigtime.

  • aaagh... amazing performance.....

    I love that sound...

  • O.O holy @#$. just awesome

  • wow storming version of this wish i'd been there.

  • You see Colin jumping at the end of the vid? They just kicked sooo much ass and he knows it. I love to watch Colin, grateful and humble. Class act Radiohead. These guys move mountains.

  • yeah i love it when colin smiles and jumps after a concert, so cute

  • Great song

  • I always forget how good this song is...even better live than on record, which is a tough thing to accomplish!

  • There's TONS of argument about Radiohead's "creative peak"...some say OK Computer...some say Kid A...and some claim they likely haven't reached it yet...they're true compositionalists...much like Copeland or Berlin, they may be recording when they're 70 years old, in some genre we can't even imagine yet...the thing is, it's hard to judge their "creative peak" because they never do the same album style twice, so it's more a matter of YOUR taste, than THEIR peak.

  • Well said, my friend

  • @slitheringinterstate they were at their creative peak as rock singers around the time this stuff came out (The Bends). They chose a different path as more "electronic" style later on. Their rock hasn't gotten much better than this stuff in my opinion but you can't ever really even compare their "electronic" style music with their guitar rock so much because they are stylistically very different. I myself prefer their guitar rock.

  • @slitheringinterstate radiohead is the peak of humankind creativity

  • @slitheringinterstate you are sooooooo right

i think they are at their creative peak at every album, then they reach another peak in another genre in the next album.

  • the best radiohead performance IMO along with htdc at paris 2000/1, street spirit at belfort 1997 and karma pocie glasto 03 GET THEM CHECKED

  • i like their early live performances more than their more recent ones. the ones now are too synthy. though videotape is waaaay more awesome live than on record

  • Is anyone know how jonny did this incredible sound at 1:50 ? It's like a doppler effect, you can fond it too on same song, Glastonbury 97.

He did it just on 97' tour. I think he use the whammy to do it but i'm not so sure. Anyone knows ?

This sound is the best he did, even better than go to sleep solo with max/msp application !

  • It's the 3 guitar player trick, the guy w/ the stratocaster, sorry, forget his name.. is playing the whammy bar, Johnny is doing keys at beginning and end w/ vibrato, also seems he's using the guitar amp vibrato in sync with whammy player.

  • I was wrong, he's doing a vibrato bend on the g string at the 10th fret and holding low octave A string 8th fret then decending octave F, E, D... other guitarist matches with whammy bar, im a guitarist, check my video JOHNNY CRASH HEY KID PROMO 1990

  • es mejor Street Spirit igual (comentario relacionado con un tema de un foro, de ahí la comparación)

  • this was a while ago...imagine how they are now.....

  • '97 is an exciting year in radiohead history. they were approaching their creative peak of Kid A/Amnesiac.

  • ...

In '97 they released OK Computer, deemed their greatest by many fans, not to mention often included as one of the greatest albums of the century. Seems more exciting part of the year to me...

I loved every Radiohead album, but I don't think Kid A or Amnesiac were creative peaks, but more pushes into something new.

  • '97 was certainly the band's peak in terms of commercial success and critical acclaim, as you point out. the subsequent years leading up to Kid A/Amnesiac, though, were more innovative and prolific- the very essence of a creative peak

  • this is so good a cant belive it.Thomm looks like he really enjoys it i just wish they still made airbags and planet telexs the only thinhg close is myxamatosis AND THEY BETTER STRT PLAYING LIFT

  • it's late but do you think that myxamatosis is sux?

  • colin looks soooooooo happy at the end of this! Love it!

  • This song's live version is a recent discovery and has been playing frequently in my head.

    Paul

  • i love this band.

  • very cool version

  • brilliant song! brilliant band

  • really heavy!

    :)
