There's no reason to threaten others with second-hand smoke asthma, lung cancer, and toxic inhalation. That's a little extreme isn't it?

Fact is that people enjoy smoking, that is why they do it. You may enjoy eating foods deep fried in trans fat or foods high in regular fat. They are both very bad for your health but you don't see annoying little twits on tv getting paid by the government to annoy people who eat those fatty foods.

I don't smoke, and I never have. However, I also think people should be free to smoke if they choose, and they choose to do so regardless of the health risks.

That is very selfish thinking because smokers have little regard for anyone else who is harmed by their death dealing habit. At college they had a policy that you could not smoke any closer than 20 feet from a building but they did little to keep smokers from standing right outside the door of a class and light up. Even when they moved away from the building the smoke just rolled in and everyone in the class then had to suffer. This country should outlaw all public smoking!

You know what I never understood about these Truth commercials, is how exactly do tobacco companies "mislead" people? It says on every damn pack of cigarettes; Surgeon General's Warning Smoking Causes Lung Cancer, Heart Disease, and Emphysema. I mean how much clearer can you be? Could it be that people still choose to smoke regardless of the health risks?

According to a reasearch done by Harvard Public Health Institute consuming 4 grams of trans fat acids increases the chances of an heart attack around 30%. Then again people are bashing the tobacco companies. Ignorance is bliss.

My husband died from cancer caused by smoking. He gave up a lung first. His sister gave up half a lung. She never smoked in her entire life. I hope they tax the hell out of it. I'd love to see a pack of cigarettes sell for $25. Then $50, $75 until only the makers can afford to use them.

Twelve Hundred loyal customers dead, EVERY day. Multiply that by 365 days a year. Now imagine the suffering those poor people went thru the days before they died. Ciggarettes not only make you dead, they make you and your loved ones suffer before you die.

Just how does our government allow that to happen? Oh, that's right, as long as your government makes a profit on something, it doesn't care what you do.

Because tobacco is still a legal product even though it can kill, just like beer, wine, and liquor. They all generate millions in taxes.
