Also, (due to my inability to stop talking) I must mention Duri was banned not becuase what he did was wrong, or that he would do it again... Jagex wanted to save face and whatever dignity they had left by banning him, so that people would think they take care of business and would come back.

It was a bug back from when player owned housing first came out, Jagex apparantly didnt test all the aspects of the game when it came out. Whenever you died in the basement and came out... you could still attack other people. Someone took advantage of that and started killing people everywhere.
Jagex lost buttloads of customers, which is why they ban talking about it.

hehe that was the same day i got hacked..luckily for recovery q's i got my acc back..glad i wasn't there cause i logged in 2 days later at fally :o and no..he did not purposly do this "massacre" and it was not a hack.. he accidently found this glitch which could let you attk people out of wild/poh (player owned houses) he did get perm banned after the vid..but not for the glitch..real world trading got him banned..as for a massacre for 8/8/8, 9/9/9 it wont happen because they accidently found it

it was a glitch cursed you was having a 99 construction party and everyone was kicked out the house and all ended up in fally, they apparently knew that this glitch would work so they planned it all resulting in the ban of a couple people

Also, (due to my inability to stop talking) I must mention Duri was banned not becuase what he did was wrong, or that he would do it again... Jagex wanted to save face and whatever dignity they had left by banning him, so that people would think they take care of business and would come back.
Doesnt change the fact that Jagex was irresponsible and diserved every lost dollor.
Not to mention its cool that 1 person cost Jagex money. FIGHT THE POWER :D

It was a bug back from when player owned housing first came out, Jagex apparantly didnt test all the aspects of the game when it came out. Whenever you died in the basement and came out... you could still attack other people. Someone took advantage of that and started killing people everywhere.
Jagex lost buttloads of customers, which is why they ban talking about it.

I don't even know what the hell I was doing at the time... though everyone was talking about it for a while afterward. I love how a million mods appeared and started shouting "bank your items!!" ...Man, I gotta stop playing that game...

back then when i played runescape, i teleported from my fighting arena into varrock, it gave me the option of attacking, but i never did it cuz i thought it was stupid. damn it i should have done it then i would be recognized as the almighty johnthebunny!!!! then i would be banned but for a good cause, SCARING THE SHIT OUT OF SOME NERDS!!!!!!!!

u guys know that what happened there was just durial321 finding a glitch in the game that teleported him from his house to the wild. everyone who engaged in combat in his house was basically skulled in the wild. So its not like this totaly beyond us kind of thing, its just as simple as the chair glitch but jagex fixed this one.
