You dont need to remove fish to clean the tank.

You remove water, and replace it with new dechlorinated water.

To remove algae you scrub it off. just like any regular aquarium...

you use a syphon and take out 20% of water perferably in the gravel. To take up the waste but they dont have gravel or substrate. But yah syphon it out
