At the moment, their leaders should think of storing food reserves for the future; it's a country with little agriculture compared neighbouring countries as more and more people visit this place each year. The oil is not here forever, think of the people first not the commercialism that they are investing in!!

I think these things aren't necessary, I mean look how Makkah was at the time of the Prophet (PBUH), and the one after him were only expanding it.

maybe the electric trains and the buildings would be necessary because there are millions of Hujjaj and they need a place to live.

and the electric trains would be useful for old and cripple people

but other stuff like the umbrellas, I don't think they're necessary.

People, people, this is all done to accomodate more people, it is tightly packed in Makkah at the moment, and although I do agree that having tall buildings near a holy site is wrong, there is a bad state at the moment, litter, smell etc. Is this how such a holy city is supposed to be?

i dont like this. its apparent that they have a strong urge for westernization . what's the need for this? how have we been accommodating pilgrims for the past 1400 years?sure its increasing every year and building more is a dire need, but that doesn't require full imitation of the west. it would be a very bad sight and disrespect to the Haram and Ka'bah.when i went for hajj,the zamzam towers are the tallest buildings currently standing in front of the entrance and it was a constant distraction
