you can get similar sounds by pairing an octave pedal with a good distortion and add a wah and you pretty much got this. I use an EBS octabass+BigMuff+CryBaby and it sounds almost exactly the same as this pedal.
Probably not, though. Two of the voices (the suboctave and the octave) take your foundational note and replicate it. As such, any nuances that make a voice sound like a voice and not a trumpet are gone. The other two voices (the "guitar" and the "square wave") alter the original signal and then put it through the filter sweep, so that could work.
I suggest getting a vocoder...that thing's made to alter vocals. This thing's tailored for bass.
Might be my favorite pedal ever. It can get silky smooth blurps, heavy distortion leads, weird zap gun noises, gentle sweeps, and great octave effects.
That also may depend on what kind of amp/bass your playing through....just keep in mind pedals can't solve everything....in order to get the sound your going for you may have to invest in a new bass and/or amp too, or maybe just the pedal would do...it all depends on the over all cumulative mix of your rig
I used to have an Ampeg "Sub-Blaster" Octave pedal and when combined with a little distortion sounded like that. A good octave pedal with an envelope filter and distortion can get many of the sounds here but simply getting the bass synth is better I believe. btw--NO bass octave pedal will track as well as the EH microsynth.
ultimate prog!!!!! fresh pots!!!!!

Could this be used as a QTron? And can it do the same job as an akai deep impact like Chris W?
