Get a life u sad person!!, everyone with a bit of common sense would check, before they moved. Most drivers that commute in and around the city know that you have to have your wits about you all the time, and that driver error can be common.
But for you to go to such a length as to follow this guy all the way to his work and not even confront him, shows how much of a coward you are!!
Why not try and film the real criminals in our society, instead of trying to hammer some guy that made an error.
@TheYabadabadoo0 This guy is a real criminal, it's a criminal offence. People die every day, hit by drivers who deliberately shoot lights to save a minute off their commute. Two people hit just a few hundred yards from this junction, in fact.
Why would I confront him? He'd just insist he went through on amber. Much better for his employers to get an educational video instead.
@EdinburghFixed If you had been paying attention then you would not have put yourself in any danger! What are you trying to prove by filming all this? After watching some of your other vids of you confronting other drivers and calling them scared!! You clearly shit yourself here! I know if u ever stopped me id shove your camera right up your arse!!
@TheYabadabadoo0 - you sound like an angry chap. When you're old enough to have a driving licence, if you go busting red lights in Edinburgh there's every chance you might end up on YouTube. We'll see who's the big man then, eh?
"Get a life u sad person" attitude is not sensible. Condoning this sloppy driving that increases the risk of killing, injuring or permanently maiming someone is poor thinking. We all make mistakes in life but just because this may have been an "error" doesn't make it better.
@regbrant Check his other vids!! he pursued other drivers and argued his case! He must have bust a gut to follow this guy and clearly bottled it! I never said that the van driver was right all im saying is that every driver on the road makes mistakes at some point. Was this really worth a fully edited video? I dont think so! Will the van driver get into trouble? I doubt it. What has been achieved here? NOTHING!!
@TheYabadabadoo0 - why would I have to bust a gut? The average speed of traffic in Edinburgh is only 10mph. Even you could manage to go that fast without sweating on a bike!
@EdinburghFixed Why dont you follow this guys lead and get a job! instead of following folk around on bikes and moon buggysand trying to make yourself look like super cop. Your a shite bag and you ve proved it. Goodnight!
@TheYabadabadoo0 which is it to be? The van driver is a hard working, upstanding model citizen who should be left alone to make these "mistakes" as he pleases, OR he should be hunted down and brought to justice (just down the road from here, a motorist got 6 points for jumping a red - no FPN offered).
@EdinburghFixed The guy jumped a red light! So what?? Does that give u the sudden urge to turn into super cop!! Who gives a toss what other motorists done!
The fact is u chased this guy and u clearly had no bottle when it came to the crunch! So u thought u would post a poxy video on here to show the world how much of a coward u are! Well Done indeed!!
@TheYabadabadoo0 - 6 points and £500 of "so what" for the guy who did this at the next junction up. Worth a minute or two of anybody's time to report, I reckon.
High time upstanding citizens stopped tolerating these sort of criminals.
@TheYabadabadoo0 who gives a toss? How about the family of the kid/old person who this muppet kills one day because he can't obey the simplest of road rules? Stupid, dangerous and needless, the sooner he is caught and removed from behind the wheel the better, and his transport manager will probably agree!
Idiots like that don't deserve to retain the privilege of a licence.
Oh and you meant to say "what other motorists HAVE done" or "what other motorists do", happy to help ;-)
I do agree that everyone makes mistakes. In this case no one was hurt but it was very close. Un-caged road users are so vulnerable in the event of an impact. I suspect you are correct - the van driver will not get into trouble but I would dispute that "nothing" has been achieved. It does show that even with right of way a road user must keep alert & with the evidence on camera, hopefully someone would have a word with the driver. It may even allow him to apologize.
maybe he was going too fast in the flow of traffic to stop when it turned red?? or maybe look right and left before you leave the junction people do make mistakes
@J0HND4v15 This camera's not attached to my head... in case it's not obvious. When I look around, it still points the same way (not like some of my other vids).
I reckon the light went red four or five seconds before he drove through it, probably he could have slowed down by then.
@CaptainKidd2006 - good point, but how many times do you not go on a green light until you've checked all the traffic coming from other directions has fully stopped?
If you reported this I'm sure some action will be taken, large contractors are pretty hot (usually) on being a 'Considerate Contractor' ccscheme(.)org(.)uk and interation with the public is a big part of that (I work in the industry).
As an iside, I cycled through Edinburgh a few weeks back on my JOGLE, nightmare, got completely lost :)

I'm kind of wondering how that gold car got that huge dent. It's not the only time that driver ran a red light.

It was very close and he was 100% wrong but did you not look before moving off rather than just going because the lights went green.
