lol ive got all my settings turned down to medium, with a few of em on high, and still only get about 8-11 FPS :( i used to have decent performance when it first came out but now its shit! cant remember what the resolution is mind i think it kinda of standar res. ive ordered a 1gb ATI hd 4350(my comp can run higher end cards) to try and boost performance but we'll see.
I'm running on an LG W2361VG 23" screen @ 1920x1080 60hz and I cant seem to get my fucking benches past an "average framerate" of 34~46fps. It keeps fucking up and saying "out of range" when I switch my res.
You should get a much better score with that setup. Unless this game does not like AMD cpus. Game developers are the biggest bastards of the world you know. They are the new age harlots actually, taking money from everyone and screwing the rest.
@SeCALPHA1 turn off V Synv from your nvidia control panel or Catalyst which ever applicable. i got 120 fps with all high/ultra setting with 1280x1024 res. and 434fps with all low/off setting
@SeCALPHA1 turn force off V Sync from your nvidia control panel or Catalyst which ever applicable. i got 120 fps with all high/ultra setting with 1280x1024 res. and 434fps with all low/off setting
Yeah i know. I forgot. Nothing changes anyway. The game still runs at 60fps throughout. What i need to do, is find out why it doesn't obey my novsync selection in both the game and catalyst!
At this video it was a Q6600@3600. At my newer video, it's a Q9550@4.1Ghz! Not much difference as you can see. Although i used 8XAA on the newer video, it run almost the same, if not better, but this is purely due to the 4870X2's power!
That's nothing really. What matters the most is the average. You can get a 10fps minimum in whichever benchmark, that could last for 0.01 sec and still be measured. How is that indicative of the true performance?
Anyway, my point was that even with Ultra and 8XAA the performance remained solid, as was my initial argument.
Minimum is what matters the most. You can have an average of 60 fps but then have a 10 minute gameplay zone out of the entire game where it is 10 fps and that ruins that part of the game. If you have a high minimum you don't really have to worry about your average or you max fps. If your min, is lets say 50fps you could probably careless what your average or max is.
You are missing my point again. Ok. If we take as an example a gameplay time of 10 mins, in which 5mins runs at 110 fps and 5 mins runs at 10 fps, then we would have an average of 60fps, but indeed the 5 mins of 10fps would be god awful. In that example yes i agree with you that the overall experience would be shit. That just doesn't happent though. Min framerate values are most of the time down spikes.
You are taking the conversation to another subject though. The point here is the new COH vid!
Q9650 is great. Much better than the Q6600 is used for that video. I have a Q9550@4.1Ghz but no DDR3 for me, thank you! Too costly for no performance gain in games! :P
would my dual core be ok because i ran the demo and it ran fine but the video card when i ran the demo was an 8400gs lol now you can see why i need to upgrade.
It is great card for it's price. I only said it managed 35.5 fps on that benchmark. This game is a strategy so you wouldn't need more. CFX would do much better i guess.
Just to be on the safe side, i would suggest to go or a Quad. It seems to me that upon installing the 4870X2 the cpu usage is more than 50% when playing games, hence more than two cores of my Q6600 are used!
Hmmm...good question, difficult answer. Q8200 has 4MB of L2 cache while Q6600 has 8MB. In my understanding L2 cache is quite important in gaming but then again, 4MB might be more than enough.
Q6600 is 65nm while Q8200 is 45nm, so less heat, less power consumption.
SSE 4.1 is only available on Q8200 so if you are interested in video encoding you might see better speed there.
Q6600 is EOLed in Q1/2009 so you might not like the idea of buying a dying CPU. Anyway i'm pretty happy with my Q6600!:D
Yes yes i know! It was off, believe it or not! There must be some Catalyst glitch with the vsync of this game! Oh well, as long as it runs at 60fps it's OK! :D
i have 4gb ram geforce 9600 gt and amd 5600 dual core cpu with a 22 inch hp and i got average 80 fps maximum 181 and minimum 62 and i have all my settings at HIGH NOT DIRECT3D 10 for some reason my computer doesnt wanna play dx10 style when im fully capable of it =p
Well i wouldn't say they suck but they could use some improvement. Quality was not the goal here. I just wanted to show the fps the 4870X2 is capable of, in all my videos.
I don't want to use a program because it will hinder my PCs performance. There are other options i'm working on, though! ;)

are you running Steam or retail version?
My Specs:

Try 1920X1080 @ 59hz!

Try setting your refresh rate to the lowest possible setting.

GPU:Gigabyte Radeon 4850 512MB
CPU:AMD Phenon X2 550 Black Edition
MOBO:Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P PCI-E s.AM3
And Vista. Will this game go smoothly in Dx10 and highest details?

How do you unlock the fps cap?
toutagamon 2 years ago
Fps cap didnt know about that but just installed and run the game and probably i get higer fps now becouse i got a new 300$ audio card
removing the audio from the cpu
goakiller900 2 years ago
Dude, a super expensive audio card gives nothing to a quad core system. You just wasted a perfect 300$!
toutagamon 2 years ago
i know i just said that it removed the audio processing from the quad core and moved to the card
and i still don't know how it happened

turn off vsync

It is turned off. It is forced off from Catalyst. For some strange reason, it had no effect. I don't know if it is corrected in the newer drivers.

Too bad its not at max settings considering the model detail was only at half way point.
Noliving 2 years ago
It runs the same at max model detail but i am not making another video for this. ;)
toutagamon 2 years ago
Sure it runs the same......
Noliving 2 years ago
Yeah! Sure! I uploaded a new video for you to see with ultra settings and 8XAA too. Next time i tell you something, please don't challenge me!
toutagamon 2 years ago
Oh! Your the best!
Noliving 2 years ago
There was a difference, your min. frame rate went up by 8 fps to 31fps in that other video.

I can't wait to get this card and run it with Company of Heroes on Ultra. Do you think it'd perform even better with the Q9650 and 4GB 1600 Ram?
Also, what are you using to see the FPS all the time in the top left corner of the screen?
ninjairoc 3 years ago
Q9650 is great. Much better than the Q6600 is used for that video. I have a Q9550@4.1Ghz but no DDR3 for me, thank you! Too costly for no performance gain in games! :P

pilster123 3 years ago
Depending on the dual core. Not all dual cores are the same!
toutagamon 3 years ago
So this is more cpu demanding? then video card?
pilster123 3 years ago
The video card is more important as always, but the CPU seems to have a large say for that specific game. Quads seem to run it better.
toutagamon 3 years ago
i thought the 4850 was a good card thou so can 1 not run this on max
pilster123 3 years ago

Sorry I meant 2 ati 4850s would they be able to max this out because I dont know?
pilster123 3 years ago
Well what i can say for sure is that the 4850 gave out 35.5 fps in that test. I don't know if two of them can scale that great though.
toutagamon 3 years ago
hey would my 2 ati 4840s be able to run this at max?
pilster123 3 years ago
