@knsf8 Went through a group called Koryo Tours. You can find them on the internet. Just sent them a photocopy of my passport and they did the rest. Turned up in Beijing for a briefing by the tour guide and then we flew to Pyongyang on 40-year-old military jet. Easy. You can also organize to go by yourself if you want, but I'm not sure how.

I just did a google and the ride is real. I was wondering myself. Seems there are 3 amusement parks around the city all in different states of disrepair. For some reason youtube won't let me leave a link but google Pyongyang amusement parks. There is also a wheel of death that seems to spin people out of it so is aptly named.

@351xb1973 You're right, there were three other amusement parks when I was there. This one was the only one that was open. One other park has a bigger roller coaster, but I don't think it's been running for years. There is actually a wheel of death in this park that is way scarier than this ride. It basicaly spins around and then occasionally bucks. One of the people on our tour went on it and ended up with half his back bruised purple and the tour guide told us he'd seen Koreans get thrown out.
