i could not agree with you mmore having a child myself certain songs and text are only feeding those who want to turn baCK THE clock to hate instead of making things better
For as much as I disagree with you Pearl, I do also enjoy you, so I hope that you don't take my comments as disrespect in the future.
I don't know the whole story surrounding Imus' choice of commentary, but there is no valid excuse for him speaking publicly to a large audience the way that he chose to.
Calling somebody a "nappy-headed ho" means that you aren't intelligent enough to describe the situation more accurately, and your words aren't worthy of radio air time.
Most of the music in today's mainstream rap is part of the problem, but the true culprits are these corporations posing as spokespeople for us. The corporations and the government with the banks not too far behind are best buddies. You could say this is the "New World Order" taking shape.
Firetwinz, those are good questions, but you have to understand that the networks that select and broadcast mainstream music is owned by mostly whites. It's their say as to what gets broadcasted. Also, most of today's media stations are owned by only a few corporations like Viacom, News, Disney, Vivaldi, Comcast others. 90% of what you watch on TV is owned by these companies and a few more.
Black people 'feed' these companies our 'music'. When we stop 'feeding' them this 'music' and give them better music, then we will see progress. White corporations facilitate our 'music' production. We need to treat ourselves and each other better in all that we do, especially in entertainment of any kind. Hip Hop and Rap used to be clean and inspiring. Most of it today is not, and it should be. That's the bottom line.
Number 1, you have no idea what all I do. I most definitely concentrate on all those other issues as well.
But for now, rap crap must be taken down because it is feeding all the social ills that you are discussing. When rap crap filthy lies is gone from the airwaves, we will all begin to see a major shift towards positive growth.
Today's so call Hip Hop is not true Hip Hop and alot of them will do anything just to get a hit over.Damn alot of our sistas{not all of them}but to many of them support this trash fronted as music.
Rap Music is not the problem. Its the things that they rap about that should be talked about. Its easy to attack a black person when he/she is making money. Also have the power to bring people together. The problem is why not talk about teaching all of black history in schools? When will the police dept's in black communitys be predominatly black? When will crimes commeted by black and latino people given the same time white people get for doing the same crimes? These are real problems!
why cant people rap about positive things... sex, money, and drugs.. i mean it's soo disgusting... but it doesn't have to be

Hip Hop is hate. Hip Hop is racism. Hip Hop feeds ignorance.

No - IGNORANCE feeds ignorance, which can be in rap, rock, pop, r&B, country...

Yeap one of the problems if Viacom owns so damn much. They take up almost all the cable channels, and who knows what other businesses.

Again, that's just my opinion.

It must be taken down because you personally don't like it?
Then go after the white record corporations who engineer this shit.
Real rap is here to stay my friend, and there ain't nothing you can do about that.
