@1965michaelb ...do you see me saying the music you listen to is shit? NO , so stop insulting music other people listen to , if you don't like it , okay . BUT SHUT THE F*ck Up ! This is a piece of art
he is the wonder of wonder, mccartney is. the likes of his genius is the stuff of the greatest legends from that part of the world, how he writes this stuff is beyond me. he is amazing and this song has that 'eternal feel' about it.
That is Denny on harmony and also on the keyboard. They were trying to establish wether the 'drone' note could be played right throught the lelody line as well as carry on with the key change at the end. It was recording at Higher Gate Farm, Cambletown. April 1977. Guitar was a Martin D28.
Actually the song is not that bad. I guess it's the corny image they adopted for this video that made Wings absolutely unhip. But unfortunately it did define him.The B side, Girlschool was the A-side in the US and McCartney is much and much more popular there. I don't think Europe ever forgave him for this. He got away with it in Britain because the Scots understand the humour of it, but he never had a rocksong in the charts again. That part of the public wrote him off after this.
I talked to mummy on the telephone this morning, and she was asking if you were going to pop around the nursing home for a visit again any time soon. Apparently you made a good impression. "Such a nice young man," she said.
Yeah this is "The Beatle" as the natives of the Mull call him, or Campbeltown more accurate..stunning scenery...avoid the pubs, visit them at your peril...I haved never had so much abuse, by so many in the samne place...nationality and religion didnt help.
No wonder Paul went so private....cue the deluge of abuse.....
Definately our Pauly. But the tape speed on this is slightly higher than normal which makes his voice sound slighly higher pitched. Definately an Epiphone guitar. There!!!
I didn't think it sounded like Paul, but I sync'ed it up to a live version played by Paul and there is no doubt this is definitely Paul. Everything is a spot on match from the strumming to the breathing.
This is definetley Paul. I remember seeing a documentary on the BBC about the recording of this song and this is what the early demo sounded like. Plus anyone who has listened to the Beatles for as long as I have knows a beatle when he hears one. Its Paul no doubt.
oh give me a break that is Not the one and only billy shears but in fact sir paul himself...it is obvious in the tone inflection accent not to mention the range of such a melodic voice and this is classic paul having probably posted it himself to create the controversy Paul Mc cartny and laurence juber rule We Love You Paul Oh Yes We Do...Yeah Yeah Yeah

Having met Paul on many occassions I agree with ip97rock this is definitely not Paul and for Daudios a huge Beatle fan you may be but the guitar playing on this is not Paul either
Another fuckin mad man, its people like you that get people like John lennon shot, your so fuckin deluded!Of course its Paul McCartney, who did you think it was?the fuckin queen!/prick!
Huge Beatles fans here, we all are positive it's Paul, without the voice processing and harmony we're all used to hearing. Just McCartney at home on his tape recorder.
Definitely, this is NOT Paul Mccartney. It's ridiculous the comparison, this song is here sang by an amateur. I Know Paul's voice better than mine, and Paul is a great singer.
What a prick! If you cant recognise this as Paul McCartney your eligible for incarceration to broadmoor ...what a fuckin jerk, why bother too post when you havent a clue what the fuck your on about..
Mull of Kintyre is the headland at the SW end of the Kintyre Peninsula which forms the NW side of Firth of Clyde. It's the nearest pt of Scotland to North Ireland. It's rugged and isolated with rocky cliffs and seashore, seal colonies, sandy beaches, etc. Machrihanish golf club and the McCartney's are not far away. I was born there during WWII. My father was a keeper at the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse, first established 1788, nowadays operated as short-stay tourist destination.
For Gammonsooker, please tell me how incredible it was playing this song. The bagpipes are my favorite musical instrument. I am 37 and fear taht I am too old to learn. Please tell me I am wrong.
Gammonsooker....RU serious???? You not only met Paul, AND played on this song...but you play the bagpipes?!!! Just writing to you , for me, is a treat. You were there. You were part of the #1 song ever made in the entire world ever ever ever. Please note, this IS just my opinion, but after watching the video of the pipe band marching up the beach....I had goosebumps on my skin and tears in my eyes. BRAVO!
I'm curious to know how you managed to aquire this as i played the bagpipes as a 16 year old boy on the record and it is the exact same recording Paul gave us on a cassette tape to learn the Mull before we went up to the farm to record it.
i used to collect bootlegs etc a long time ago can't recal where i got these McCartney ones from .hope it brought back some happy memories for you .i also have another shorter version of it the bagpipes part is played with what sounds like a synth .
Its a great Demo you imbicile, try plucking a guitar and singing away like Paul can with ease,I doubt you could pick your nose and talk at the same fuckin time!
Better than the original. Should have dropped the bag pipes from the studio version.
