That is Denny on harmony and also on the keyboard. They were trying to establish wether the 'drone' note could be played right throught the lelody line as well as carry on with the key change at the end. It was recording at Higher Gate Farm, Cambletown. April 1977. Guitar was a Martin D28.

Actually the song is not that bad. I guess it's the corny image they adopted for this video that made Wings absolutely unhip. But unfortunately it did define him.The B side, Girlschool was the A-side in the US and McCartney is much and much more popular there. I don't think Europe ever forgave him for this. He got away with it in Britain because the Scots understand the humour of it, but he never had a rocksong in the charts again. That part of the public wrote him off after this.

Mull of Kintyre is the headland at the SW end of the Kintyre Peninsula which forms the NW side of Firth of Clyde. It's the nearest pt of Scotland to North Ireland. It's rugged and isolated with rocky cliffs and seashore, seal colonies, sandy beaches, etc. Machrihanish golf club and the McCartney's are not far away. I was born there during WWII. My father was a keeper at the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse, first established 1788, nowadays operated as short-stay tourist destination.
