sounds like your takin a leak...must have a giant bladder!..lol....i like the design of this. i didnt think of using the concrete to line the barrel thats a great idea. so to add to the design....how about using fire brick mortered on top of the concrete. that should make the lining more durable. thanks for the vid.
i thought you have to add wood only after the wh0ole batch is consumed because the fire always has to start from the top.. I have one and if i just add wood in the middle of the batch run it will make too much smoke because i interfered with the ratios... ur design is very smart how you made an ash collector using the sliding effect... mine doesn't have this
You are right. To keep the heat rate up while raising steam I can't wait until it burns all the way down. It doesn't smoke unless I let it really cool down and then over-stoke. Or maybe I just haven't been doing this right. If I add enough wood for fifteen minutes it tends to overfire the boiler. Hmmmm?
Maybe a dumb question but can you use charcoal to burn longer, regulate better?

It needs a side door. The door will be 4" high x 6" wide. Top hinge. I'll keep you posted.

How do you add wood? From the top? That would be kinda hard to do if you had a monotube boiler setting on it.
