  • I think it s great what he was doing there. He tried to do something new and the people didn t unterstand. I believe if I would sing those songs a hundredthousand times I would get weary of that. Great artist this man! Probably one of the best of the century.

  • Even fans seem to forget he didn't "move" much in the 1973 "Aloha From Hawaii" concert that's often considered his best. Even in the 1968 "T.V. Special" there were songs he would later, even in 1977, put more energy & movements into. I'm pretty sure the people attending these 1977 concerts were not thinking "Elvis will be at his 100% best tonight". The basic practice of comparing years, shows, artists, etc, is all simply not fair, nor logical.

  • We will love you forever

  • People need to remember the physical pain Elvis was dealing with in 1977. He played many concerts with severe cramps due to his twisted colon. The extra weight he carried was mostly water due to the effects of the steroids he was taking for that problem. I don't see this as a bad performance. It may not be 1974 stuff but it was still good.

  • @moejr1974 You took the words right out of my mouth. TCB.

  • ELVIS WAS TERMINALY ILL AND HE KNEW IT. HE GAVE HIS ALL TO THE VERY END CUZ HE LOVED US, HIS LOYAL FANS. I MISS HIM, BUT I BELIEVE WE'LL ALL BE TOGETHER AGAIN, WHERE THERE IZ NO PAIN, SORROW OR SICKNESS. THANX ELVIS FOR GIVING YOUR ALL...........T.C.B.

  • Elvis wasn't that overweight in '77.

  • So cool....All the comments about Elvis in 1977.....well, only ones that usually get here are the fans, so who cares?! Elvis was a sick man in 1977, who can blame him? Let him be remembered for those 20 years that pre-dated 1977, PLEASE!!

  • Not one of the great mans best performances, He does look and sound pretty ill. But still good to see such rare footage.

  • Jusqu'au bout tu étais toujours aussi bien, et ta voix aussi magnifique. Tu étais pourtant bien mal en poing en 1977. Pauvre ELVIS.

  • Elvis.....Deutschland liebt dich

  • I saw Elvis 3x b4 he died, in '74,76 & 77 all in Texas. He only performed this song in the 74 concert. He is sorely missed. For those of u who aren't fans and can't see what us fans see, let me tell u... its not fair to compare earlier performances or other artists, whom wouldn't have made it without Elvis influence! Elvis was in bad health here, but he still influence artists today and remains the best that ever was!

  • @YRNGHFAN2 U were lucky to have gotten to see him in person. I was just a young kid when he was reconquering the world in 1970 in Las Vegas. I didn't even know who he was then. It wasn't until a bit later on around 1973 that I began to know who he really was. My mom got to see him in person in San Francisco in 1969 or 70 I think. But I really started likin him around 1974. I was totally shocked at how he looked in 1977. I couldn't believe how he looked. But today, I just love the guy.

  • @MrBionicman I barely knew who he was in the mid 60's as I was literally 2 yrs old, when mom had a hell of a time, getting me away from the tv, every time he was on! lol It sadden me that he had put on weight and was ill at the end, but I loved him regardless, because the man can sing! What other artist do we know that can sing Gospel, Country and rock and sell millions of albums of each?? He was the best, heck with the rest!

  • @YRNGHFAN2 lucky!!!!!!!!!

  • Elvis is the greatest performer that ever lived. None of todays so called singers would be fit to lace Elvis's boots. Elvis the king forever.

  • elvis was one hell of a performer hands down.i only wish i couldve seen him perform live.im grateful for the videos that are out there.

  • thanks<3

  • Pock Salad!!!!, or something dirty like that!!!

  • the better the newest HQ hdmi 3D video recorders get, the more we start watching this kind of video's.

  • He is the king and always will be......

We all get tired and have life problems.

    Still the best.....

  • Poor thing, could barely move. The singing was lethargic and spotty. I don't think he should have been doing this, he should have been getting help, then hit the road at 100%.

  • @modspell just go away sado

  • @flicka601 I AM an Elvis fan too, you weirdo. I can make any comment I want here, you don't own Elvis nor YouTube.

  • @modspell More power to you!

Don't you know that us fans who see Elvis in a balanced view aren't "real fans" ? It's only the fans who say he sounded and looked fantastic (even though he was literally at deaths door) who can be called the true fans. Denial is one of the things that killed Elvis Presley.

  • @berrygirl964 Great and precise comment

  • @modspell Exactly! The man obviously belonged in a hospital instead of on stage.

  • Mesmo no fim,um rei incontestavel !!! vida longa ao R E I !!!!!!!!

  • He must have taken something because he is blurry like talking with thick tounge or soemthing

  • The moves and great voice are not really there in this performance..but Elvis Is Still Being Elvis, right to the end.

  • Ottima esecuzione , la voce era ancora sensazionale.Anche la capacità di tenere il ritmo e di fare variazioni.

  • Was this done in 1977? I didn't think he did this song much after '72-'74

  • @fh346 he did it in pittsburgh.new years eve 1976

  • @fh346 he did

    in 1975 alot

    in 1976 almost every show

and in 1977 just a few times

  • Not the best version ,but not sung often in the final year . This is Milwaukee, April 27th 1977.

  • You are right! I think many incl. Vernon,Red, Sonny, Billy S. did their best to help him but Elvis was to say the least stubborn! He did what he wanted to and thats it!

  • isnt this the milwaukee show ?

  • Comment removed

  • polk salad annie for president...

  • fuck tom parker...now the colonel is in hell..elvis smile at the colonel from heaven...

  • I personally think Col. Parker overworked him, because the Col. was very greedy

  • ge is about music ut i was just saying towards the end og the this song he dances quite alot but this time he dosnt because of his weight but still the greatest entertainer of all time mo doubt.

  • This is just very sad... I prefer Elvis back in 1956 when he sang "Heartbreak hotel" and "Hound dog"

  • normally towards the end of the song he starts dancing alot but he realy couldnt this time wat a shame

  • Thank you, GREAT Clip!!! AAA+++

  • The video is definately not from Feb. 16th.

That was the Montgomery, Al. show that I was at. He wore the "Rainfall" suit on that date. Audio is for sure from that show though.

  • How on earth could anyone close to him see this kind of performance show after show and not do something to help him?!?! I just dont get it!

  • poor of him..

  • Grandioso el Rey como siempre lo será!!!!!!!!!

  • The King!!!

  • He had nearly 35 lbs of hard packed clay-like material in his colon at this time... The pain must have been horrific. He chose painkillers over having a colostomy bag and the removal of his transverse colon -which would also have stopped him from reaching those amazing musical notes. He chose this as the option that would at least let him do what he loved until the end. When someone is addicted, others who care have to step in and help. The mafia mostly aided the colonel and themselves...

  • It was a total surprise when I heard he passed. What ever drug problems he had it was well hidden from the public. We all knew he was over weight and a bit older but to say he was addicted to drugs? the average Elvis fan didn't really know about it till the book came out ELVIS WHAT HAPPENED! After the release of the book he died I think only a month later or less.any way you look at it It was a tragedy the way he died. He was addicted to drugs it eventually killed him.

  • @Sonyasny How would a colostomy effected his singing ability? I always wondered why he never had a colostomy done. Would have gotten rid of the pain.

  • Because one cannot bear down hard in the abdomen when one has one.... there is a tube there extending to the bag outside. He wouldn't have been able to sing as he did if he couldn't bear down. All good singers sing from the abdomen. Can you imagine him belting out a song and having the tube fall out? Neither could he....

  • @Sonyasny hhhmm interesting. Sacrificed his health for his fans.

  • Yes, and very few ever will know....

    He was a great man.

  • A really excellent version and Ronnie is clearly taking no prisoners here. Tutt kicks some serious butt!

  • Most people don't have a clue how grueling his tours were he gave his all and went on when anybody else would have said to hell with it. Long live The King!

  • ELVIS was only 42 and thats young when yoy think about it.And he can hardly move at all,it is really sad to see such a great entertainer like him end that way.

  • Dirty! Dirty! Best of all Time.

  • thanks for the clip, it's new to my eyes.

  • Hey elviszeppelin, these so called "yes men" had very little chance of protecting Elvis from himself - he didn't want help. Also, if you read up on the history of Elvis between 1975 and 1977 you will see that by the end, when E was at his worst, those "yes men" were almost all gone - they were fired and pushed away - so they couldn't stop him from doing drugs or anything else. When they started revealing his habits they were called traitors - darned if they did, darned if they didn't.

  • His so called friends shouldn't be allowed to parade around Memphis for the Birthday celebrations. They should be ashamed for just being "yes men" and letting him die. I'm so sick of listening to Elvis Bootlegs and hearing that idiot Charlie laughing at every stupid thing Elvis says. Moron

  • damn thats a far cry from the 1970 and 1972 versions of it

  • @mofoca22 well 1970 and 1972 where years earlier before 1977, its not like days. elvis gave his all this footage he dont dance alot i agree but that wasnt the way every time he performed it in 1977, i saw footages from other concerts where elvis dances more to it this footage is probably the may 1977 tour which had up-show but also down shows, although the sound is from April 27 1977 Milwauki

  • wow incredably sad he couldnt even do his moves such a shame what a great singer the king for ever

  • Nicely edited footage and sound.

  • Great stuff.I have never seen this footage before.
