He was amazing with the Senators this year in the playoffs....56 saves in the game 5 win against the 2009 champs and 39 in game 6, thats some pretty good stats for a goalie whose never played playoffs before

I liked this trade.

Vermette just wasnt working out here in ottawa. We put him on every line combination and he just lacked finish.

Most believe it was because we had him playing so much time on the checking line and pp and pk that it was tough for him to adjust to being on line 1 with heatley and spezza or line 2 with fisher and alfredsson. We knew hed get more line 1 and 2 minutes in col and would do well

yea i think we got a really good deal... like our goaltending has been pretty non exsistant for a while. How did you find leclair overall, really consistent ? Vermette is an interesting player, recently he hasnt put up big numbers, but he was out key faceoff guy, and penalty kill guy. Plus hes got really advanced stick work and ability with the puck... its just not well reflected in his stats. He will be missed in ottawa!

Leclaire is sometimes inconsistant, BIG injury prone. He has a lot of lower body problems, but he had a phenominal year last year. Vermette can also play center right?

Oh dont worry, Leclaire is our NEW BEST FRIEND. We are going to take very very good care of him. We've never had a goalie of his caliber. He apparently could play the last 2 games of the year but we arent going to put him in. He has loads of time to get physically fit and then hit training camp. And next year we will have a great defensive roster in front of him and we will give him a team effort to help him get back to being as good as he was last year.

Yes minor injury prone except for his last one. He isnt like Carey Lehtoninen in that respect who has many big injuries. Pascals had a lot of minor injuries. But we arent too worried about those seeing as he is young. We just were concerned and wanted to make sure he would heal and make training camp so we wouldnt have another EMERY issue. Cuz thats what happened to emery, wasnt his attitude, he tore his wrist after the cup run and missed training camp, came back rusty and got mad about it all.

The only thing he lacks is finish and he is a streaky goal scorer. He always gets assists but goals he usually goes on a tare and then vanishes for a while.

Good trade for both teams, esp since we get a 2nd pick.
