Black voters "may" be voting along racial lines, but let's not forget that white voters have voted along racial lines way too many times in the past. IMHO, it is far better to look past the color and gender of the candidate and consider the candidate on their merits pertinant to the job. IMHO, Hillary is too instable, controversial, divisive, and as wishy washy as Waffle Willy.
All that Clinton garbage can stay in the past. Let's learn our lesson and not repeat it.
It's obvious the vast majority of blacks are voting just along racial lines.
I just hope when there is a Hispanic in a similar position, my fellow Hispanics won't do something like that and actually vote for the best qualified and not just jump on the racial bias wagon.
MertensCW, I don't get it. Most Latinos are supporting Hillary. My question is:
1.What has Hillary done for you? 2.What has Obama done against you?
3. Is there really a black/brown divide?
I think Latinos may have forgotten that mainstream whites see you guys just like they see blacks. And they pressure politiians to deport you. I think Obama relates more to Latinos than you know.
Nothing for me personally, i just like her toughness on the political arena and the issues she speaks about resonate with me.
On Obama , to me he's trying to make it seem like he's right 100% of the time, just because he was right on Iraq, when he had no real pressure to vote for or against it.
Also no one's trying to deport me,i was a legal immigrant and you'd find most who came here legally support better immigration laws.
Mertens, I didn't mean you personally. But many whites do not even want a legal path to citizenship. There is definitely an anti-hispanic sentiment that's growing in mainstream America. It's not just Republicans either. I'm not saying Hillary is like that.
I'm saying that if a Latino ran for Prez, you guys would vote for your own. Just like the blacks are. I really can't blame them after being used by politicians all these years.
To Mertens: I really don't believe what you saying. You forget that if it was not for the civil rights act of 1964 and the civil rights march in which Hispanics were brought on board to participate and to benefit in this great american society. Ceasar Chavez is rolling in his grave hearing how "hispanics" have now become coconuts. Conservative media preaches a racial divide between blacks and latinos but, I gotta say that I do not see the divide.
the clintons have rallied for life for black civil rights and now the niggers are turning their backs on the clintons in the best show of reverse racism - please, vote for a gay crackhead nigger for president
Hscott: WTF are you talking about? The blacks protected the Clintons for years. The Clintons turned their backs on their base in order to gain support from "blue collar whites" who never supported or spoke out in their favor when the lewinski thing was happening.Blacks forgive but they don't forget as easily.
If obama,s name is OBAMA HUSSEIN OBAMA HUSSEIN OBAMA. That will not change my vote for him. If Osama bin Laden name is Kennedy Lincolm Rooservet. That will not change my hatred on him. Justice must take its root, he deserve life jail or death by any means. i have a friend friend's name called Clinton, he sexually molested a 9 years girl. its not about de name but judgement and belief and character and reaction towards yourself, family, friends and enermy.
Its not about black. Black, White, Asian, Latinos are going for Him(Obama), cos they see light in him, and they are not foolish. H. clinton & J. McCain have black, white, asian, latino in their support (vis-a-vis).Its based on what u belief and understand. if u r doing a bussiness and it is not going well, u have to change tools. A friend of Lauren Hill onces said, if turning back is not an obtion why do vehicles have reverse, they should just keep on going and crash. PLS.CHANGE WHEN NECESSARY!
Wake Up Black America, This race is not about the color of our skin, look Martin, Malcolm and Medgar days are gone, We need a READY President, one with Experience, that we can trust, this woman has a track record of doing what she saids shes gonna do..It doesnt get any better than her,no rookie in the oval offc..Hillary is who we should all be voting for and if your a woman, shame on you to not support your on Gender shame shame after all men have had 43 years to get it right.TX Is Hillary Country!!
So is "this" the kind of change that Barack Obama is going to bring to Washington? Pressuring people to throw their loyalty, integrity and dignity out the window for him? "Support me because I'm black....and you are black." Obama is going to "unite" this country....what a joke. He's divided our party and set race relations back to pre the3 "pre-civil rights" era. Uniter....no, DIVIDER.
enough of this racism and this obama bashing!! Ted strickland should be ashamed of the campaign he is supporting...especially when you have bill bigot cunningham on your side
What a surprise. Another black congressman voting for a virtual unknown solely on the basis of race. Despite the fact that Lewis had been a staunch supporter of Clinton for many years, the "lure of race" was just too irresistable for him. It is clear that matters of race are far more important than experience or professional qualifications. Yep, its all quite predictable. How easily they can abandon good judgment and the best interests of the nation in favor of racial solidarity.
I am very disappointed with my Black community. We have (80%) are blindly supporting a neophyte candidate over one of the most talented and experienced candidates this nation has seen in a long time (Hillary Clinton). We are doing this at one of the most crucial times in our nation's history. Most of us are doing so only because Barack is black. We are throwing the Clintons overboard. Shame on you Black America. The Clintons have given their hearts and souls fighting for the disenfranchised.
So has Obama. He took a job as a community organiser and worked the streets of Chicago for 3 years, being paid $13000 a year by the church.
While race undoubtedly has played a part in the black community's support of Barack Obama, there are a multitude of other reasons why they are doing so; the same reason all the other demographics are. It's not difficult to find out about him. Search a bit, even if you find it hard to click the links. Hillary isn't bad, but she has been outshown here.
To Timmylee: You are such a fake!! You are a clinton operative that says that they are black but...,like languages, they have a finger print to the culture from which it comes from. You are a fake and not even black.
Yo Mama, am I black enough for you now? Just kidding. I might support BHO. But I am not motivated by him, maybe because I am over 40 and I know bs when I hear it. We need to stop being black and embrace our humanity. We put too much focus on our race. I celebrate the heroic achievements of our people, but we have to move beyond being black. And it sadden me that the black community by 90% support a guy simply because he is black, at one of the most difficult times in our nations history. .
I find it amazing that African-Americans continue to vote lock-step year after year for their Democratic pimps. Like any pimp, they took our minds a long time ago. They keep promising sh-t and never deliver, but we "betta have that money or get beat down." Why do you think Slick Willie smokes a cigar and you hear "Wacka Wacka" guitars whenever he walks by?
Obiviously you can't do any better as President, otherwise you would be running. You negative attitude only hurt yourself. It won't stop Hillary or Obama from running for president so you comments are "empty" and useless. It is obvious that you have some interest in Barack, otherwise you would not be viewing this video. His black skin has nothing to do with who he is as a person, but your racist comments has everything to do with how sad you are as a person.
my comment was in reply to a comment that has since 'disappeared'....the comment stated that Obama was a black man which really bugs me because he is NOT. He is bi-racial. People like to shoe box. The comment also said that he was 'inexperienced' versus Hillary. I say both of them are inexperienced, and McCain is running on the POW ticket, much like Guiliani on the 911 ticket. And Yes, I would run for president, but I'm not related to a former president or a millionaire.
It's sad that so many blacks are turning their backs on the Clintons. Wanting to see the first Black pres. is fine. But abandoning those that have been there for the Black comm. for years in favor of the least qualified and inexperienced canidate of BOTH parties, & who will be indebted to the elitist rich whites who funded him if he actually gets in over them, makes no sense to me. I'm black but I also believe in loyalty and doing right by those who've done right be me.
i would agree with you, but that's NOT why people are turning away from the clintons. it's an easy claim to make, but that claim is not supported by the evidence.
people are walking away because 1.) he's winning and it seems more and more inevitable that he'll be president, and 2.) because they are getting progressively more and more disgusted with the "win at all cost" attitude of the clinton campaign.
Actually they're pretty much tied, but even if he was miles ahead, JUST because he's in the lead is enough reason to support him? Not because you think he'd make the best Pres. How is that a GREAT reason?
If Barack gets the Nom let's see if he sticks to his promise to only use the allocated money for the general election and forgo fund-rasing as he promised. If he doesn't that'll make him just another "do anything to win" politican. And will you STILL support him if does go back on his word?
i agree with you here. i think #1 is a crappy reason to jump ship; i'm just saying that's why many are doing it. he has the momentum, and they throw there support where they might curry favor. they're politicians, after all.
i was disappointed in his wavering on the public funds issue, but i wouldn't withdraw my support just for that.
there are a ton of black marks on the clintons, right down to their tactics in running this race.
tacit involvement and then denial of genocide taking place in rwanda.
funding and arming Hatian Dictator, then refusing asylum to refugees, while welcoming cubans who fled Castro's Cuba (because it's good for votes in Florida).
Obama's more than qualified. they all are. but who's more honest? who has run a unique campaign with more integrity than anyone has ever seen?
"'m black, too. what did the clintons do for us? "
From her earlist days Hillary was actively invloved in church based programs that went into disadvantage mostly poor black communities to do tutoring & educational progams She was active in civil rights in the 60's and on including leading a strike at her college to get more Black student and faculty admitted She and Bill hired more African Americans during his administration that any other Pres If you don't know what they've done go find out.
she also worked for barry goldwater.there was only one black person in the clinton cabnet, ron brown who died.the clintons are friends to the black community in words not deeds.she does things real and imagined that help hillary, not anyone else.
tristkiss, not all blacks are turning away from the "Clintons" because of race. There are many reasons. I was a supporter of the Clintons until I saw the "Clinton Chronicles and the Mena Connection." that has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with trust, respect and dignity. Our country has been embarrassed enough. It is time for respect and healing.
I'm sure there are other reasons. But when you have 80 and 90% going for one canidate over the other when most say their policies are essentially the same. It's a huge factor, I would say the deciding factor. You know it is.
For the record, Obama is bi-racial. Black father, White mother.
I love the 'inexperienced'. Do I go to the dentist's wife for a root canal? What experience for Hillary besides carpet-bagging in NY....Oh, No security clearance while her hubby was in office.
Don't get me wrong, they are ALL horrible choices, Hillary McObama.
Obama was senator 1 year before he launched into this 3 year campaign to be president.
Clinton has been involved in politics longer than Obama has been out of high school. She
was first lady of Arkansas, USA and a NY senator.
There is experience for you.
If America is 70% white. I wonder why blacks voting for a brother is a shock.

i'm talking specifically about during the presidency. the ideals of the "young" Ms. Clinton aren't present in the older, wiser, jaded version.
