  • when i started working on cars i too had craftsman. Not bad you know it did what i needed but then used a snap on ratchet and was blown away, so i had to go buy for myself!! Love the sound of those 80 teeth, cant go back. As for the ratchets they really are worth the money!

  • idk much about matco but i do have craftsman and i have used mac ratchets but none of em compare to the snap on dual 80 locking flex head. best ratchet ive ever bought. that thing is strong as hell

  • Take notice and examine the socket(s) they use to bash the competitors with snap on's amazing ability to be the lowest profile. Take note how the socket is changed on the Matco, Craftsman, etc....they used a shorter socket on the snap on ratchet, and that is pure fact. typical marketing scam.

  • @williamandsusie well, it appears they don't just switch sockets. They are using the other brands ratchet AND socket... that's fair. Why should they compare the other bands ratchet with their own socket?

  • @williamandsusie

Yes, they said the Snap On socket with Snap On ratchet were lower than the competitions versions with their sockets. The 80 is a nice ratchet, I own many others and I can say that with certainty. I have a matco 88 that is nice too and frankly I can barely tell a difference between the two. Craftsman ratchets are garbage in comparison these days.

The sad news is that now Craftsman ratchets are starting to be made in China. We're near the end of Made-in-USA Craftsman mechanics tools, and probably all tools. Sad as hell.
