ART BEARS REVISITED, IF SOMEONE HAS THAT OR THE BOX SET THEY SHOULD POST IT PLEASE. THESE PEOPLE DO SOME GENIUS, MENTAL THINGS WHEN REMIXING THE ART BEARS.
@SeanIsaacBillings I highly recomend Renaldo and the Loaf. Especially "Songs For Swinging Larvae" and "Monkey and Bunny" which they did in cooperation with The Residents.
I'd have hated to have been the producer or engineer of this song and had to say "Oops! We messed up the last vocal take. Krause, can you do the entire thing all over again?"
"Both the images we consume and the way we consume them are lending credence to the idea that women are there to be used and that men are there to use them" Linda Papadopoulos
Women and Sex have become synonymous terms and "Art" for the past two centuries has taken no stops to fully glorify and objectify women as sexual tools.
Papadopoulos has written for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Tonic Magazine and Time on Line. She is a familiar face on British and American reality television series, such as Big Brother, Double Cross, My Big Breasts and Me (UK documentary), Celebrity Fit Club and the BBC News. She has also written for BBC News on mental health.[3]
Oh yes, Cosmopolitan doesn't glorify and objectify women as sexual tools...
I dont know who she is, but on BBC there was a recant article about Sex and sexulization. Art and fashion has A LOT to do with it in my opinion. Glamorising false impossible ideals.
What I said was not pretentious, far from it. Don't you you read the news? Are you a sleep? I quoted her because she perfectly summarised a point.
It would be pretentious of me to try and state a problem and then act as if I have an answer to the solution. I am only a messenger, trying to WARN you and others around Youtube.
I'm from Argentina (south america) you know, my country doesn't have the same problems as yours. I don't understand which is your point anyway. What can I do? I'm unable to change the way men see women, I'm not god.
I think it's up to women to rebel and change their situation.
@Victormene: Unless you know what it is to walk and live like a woman in general, you should consider that you don't know how it is for women to experience general domestic/macro-society berievement at the hands of men.
Forced from the land, Cleared for the wool, Dispossessed, refugees, Who were told To be free. Free to starve. or to Slave; free to choose A or B, as we offered, To labour or die. I saw cities explode with This freedom, and Covered my eyes.
I imagine this is about the evictions of smallholders in Ireland .. sheep more profitable than people.. and the rape of that country by the English in general.
If so, then the scream sums up the whole period beautifully.
It still sends shivers down my spine! Nearly 27 years after I first heard it... What an amazing piece of music. What a great performance by Dagmar et al!
I remember when I first heard this song. One of my friends had just picked up the album and we were so excited. We got it home and put it right on. I don't know what track this is, but it wasn't until about halfway through the scream that we figured out that this was one of those "extended play" 45 rpm records! It was hilarious. What a bunch a dummies! lol. Well, the album definitely sounded better at the proper speed. I love Art Bears.
I think Art Bears is a great influence on Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, the same as Henry Cow, it's beautiful and innovative music whose legacy won't never fade away !
yeah, it's on the 2nd slapp happy record, either called Casablanca Moon or Acnalbasac Noom (CM backwards). The two albums are virtually identical tracks-wise but are completely different recordings. CM is Slapp Happy backed up by studio musicians. AN is SH backed up by Faust (and was the first recorded though not released til much later). "The Drum" appears on both albums but AN version is superior. Blegvad doesn't sing on AN, only Daggi; they duet on CM. Clear as mud, right?
It took me a while to decide, but I really appreciate the stills that accompany this piece.

Madness, anger and talent mixed together. Amazing band forever and ever. Hard to follow at first but makes most present day bands feel ashamed.

I don't have all the answers, but what you can do is be a moral person, know that a judge is looking down at you...
I don't even know you so how can I possibly give you any more advice?
MrGrandDragon 1 year ago
So you tell us what is wrong with society and people but don't give any answer... You better shut up I think.
I don't know what is a "moral person", I don't think that a judge is looking down on me, that's just absurd.
You're just a pretentious prick, posting comments that don't have nothing to do with this video.
