Hey Islander! have you heard about Karceno2? He likes to challenge you here in youtube about commentating in boxing. He said your views are from a fans point of view.
i think that Clottey is gonna beat Pacquao cuz Clotteys hand speed and power are better then people think and hes got better defensive skills than pac.
knockouts aside, cotto only won 3 rounds, rounds 1,4, and 10 I believe, 10 was manny resting I think, if you count knockouts, then only 2 rounds, kinda a dismantling I believe. Cotto is a true warrior for giving it his all, props to both fighters
Islander, I'm wondering how FM will handle Pac who throws from his kind of odd angles with speed power and accuracy. Are there any comparables out there to give us some idea of how FM will approach this?
I find this comparison of PBF-Hatton fight with that of Pacquiao-Hatton as proof of Manny having only 'ok' power, rather faulty. On the other hand it is indeed proof of Manny's awesome power he brought to Cotto fight. It's because at welter,a bigger PBF was fighting a smaller Hatton. While at Jr.Welter, a smaller Pacquiao sent the bigger Hatton to dreamland in rd 2.
@reigncourts - who cares about that weight shit..MANNY IS A WELTERWEIGHT..you guys need to stop talking about this smaller bigger bullsh!t..pacquiao just TKO'd one of the biggest, strongest elite welterweights out there (Cotto) and took everything he could throw back..in my book that make manny a legit welterweight..
we do have laws over here about 16 yr olds being pro boxers, but how much you figure pbf weighed @ 16? these guys are the same size..from same wt classes..STOP THE FUCK'N EXCUSES!
doc Spoc: I agree. But why bitch about Manny having no awsome but just ok power? A bigger man do have greater power than a smaller man especially if we talk of the same boxer. The point is Pacquiao brought his speed & power to the welterweight like
@dtdrolf - manny has 'ok' power.. but if you hit ODLH and Cotto as much as manny hit ODLH and Cotto and you can't knock them out... you obviously don't have AMAZING power.. if you did, you'd be able to put them asleep..
as well as speed and output of connects.. there is the fact that manny lands shots from angles that fighter's don't expect to get hit from.. those shots can hurt a fighter much more than the ones they see coming.. that's what hurt cotto especially
pacquiao knocked cotto down on rounds 3-4, surely you would not believe that cotto was hit a lot already at that point in the match. especially considering he (cotto) won round 1 and was winning rounds 3 and 4 before the knockdowns.
@saiyan4321 AGAIN..he knocked him DOWN... did he knock him "OUT"? how come he couldn't knock either of cotto or DLH out? by the end of those fights he hit them a whole lot.. RIGHT?
rnd 3&4 punches were from weird angles & those hurt more than ones that a fighter sees and can prepare himself to absorb.. i.e. they don't have to be as powerful to hurt.. as lederman said in pbf v hatton.. later in the fight pacquiao hit him with everything except his stool and the ref and he didn't go down..
isn't that what i said, he "knocked cotto down". please read it again. someone hits you in the chin and you go down with your legs wobbly a bit, don't you think that's a power shot? sure de la hoya did not go down (so much for the weight drained shit) but he was a much bigger man the pacquiao , you really don't expect pacquiao to be able to put dela hoya to sleep did you (because no one has, except for mosley body shot i believe), but that does not mean pacquiao's punches are not powerful.
@saiyan4321 - you simply don't know your facts.. pacquiao actually weighed more than ODLH on fight night.. he WAS totally weight drained.. on fight night pacquiao was actually the bigger man by several pounds in that fight!
if your asking people to stop making excuses for pacquiao then you should stop making excuses for his opponents as well. is it pacquiao's fault dela hoya weighed a "mere" 1 pound lesser than him? no. if we follow your facts then with the cotto fight manny weighed in 1 lb less than cotto, then that makes cotto bigger than pacquiao right? (especially when your claiming that pac is now a welter). point is he put down a bigger guy, that means he's got a heck of a punch.
doctor spoc, for your info, Oscar weigh 147 on fight night while Manny weigh 148 Lbs. Manny did not several Pounds advantage against Oscar like you said. Get the FACT STRAIGHT!
if your basis for having awesome power is "knocking out" opponents then all boxers only have "ok power" cause all their record include have either a 12th round ud or just decision, heck even a draw (except for valero who's 26 wins are knock outs, but he only fights bums anyways).
-Hatton is junior welterweight 140 lbs not 147.. DUMB ASS!! we were talking welterweight.. right DUMB ASS??
-even boxinginfo said that pbf only has just ok power for welterweight and he knocked him out too
-funny how when pbf knocks hatton out when he was an undefeated fighter & the haters come with every excuse.. AFTER the fight why it wasnt a big deal.. before hatton was the pbf killer..manny does it and..oh god that was SO amazing! sure manny does it faster but they are dif style fighters
I think alot of people are still in great hangovers when a smaller guy shocked the world. I dont believe that Pac has no welterweight power when he knocked cotto in 3rd and 4th round. What do you want to call it? Do you think it wasnt power? Then what was that? Dont you think it wasnt power when DLH was dismantled? What was that again? At junior welter when he put hatton on a almost fatal KO, what was that again?
he didn't refer to cotto's KD as knock outs he said knocked... read properly dude.... and you call him a dumb ass eiii lol at the same time you didn't answer his question.... peace dude.......
@misayde you forget... his post was in response to MINE.. maybe YOU should learn how to read.
I made the statement that Pacquiao didn't have devastating power at WELTERWEIGHT (i.e. one punch knockout power).. evidence: he couldn't knock out Oscar and he couldn't knock out Cotto..he made them quit but that was mostly based on his speed and athleticism, but so much his power.. he couldn't finish the show.. numb nuts comes in and starts talkin about hatton, who is a junior welter weight?? huh??
everyone thought margacheatos chin was indestructible.. but when you are not able to dish out when you are taking, not able to wear your competition down..good chin or not..eventually you are in big trouble..chin & power dont mean shit if you cant connect..want to know what pacquiao v pbf will look like.. look at margacheato v mosely or look at pbf v corrales (RIP).. mannys 3rd knock out is also a definite possibility given just how hittable manny was even for cotto and pbfs motivation level
pacqiao v mayweather is going to look something like mosely v margarito... manny, is just too easy to hit and unlike cotto who has NO head movement an shitty defense.. pacquiao is just not going to be able to connect more than once or twice (single shots) here and there and mayweather will make this look pretty easy. thats why mayweather signed so fast..must have said we want that guy who fought cotto, no adjustments.. we can make easy work of that guy.
a)Paquiao takes the punch of a welterweight really well.. much better than i suspected and i think most, including cotto
b)Pacquiao has good, but not devastating power at welterweight..cuoldnt put away oscar or cotto with a punch
c)if you see how many times cotto snapped mannys head back and how swollen up & cut his face was w broken ear drum manny still has many flaws..gets hit way too much..cottos no wasnt around long enough to take full advantage
docSpoc- here are my take aways and I agree with yours pretty much:
Nothing in terms of power that Mayweather dishes is out is even comparable to Cotto.
In regards to Pacquiao's power it may not be 1 punch power but how many people have ever stopped ODLH @ 147 or scored KD's over Cotto @145+ when he wasn't decidedly taking a knee?
I also think Pac is tougher to hit than we give him credit for, remember Pacquiao took a fight w/Cotto and Mayweather wouldn't no matter what spin he puts on it.
@boxinginfo agreed, cottos powr greater than pbf's.. so what? i think cotto's power is greater than manny's.. how did it help him? like i said, if you can't hit the other enough it doesn't really mean much.. who has more power,Bute or Andrade? see what i'm saying.
as for cotto v pbf.. he's is fighting the guy that just demolished cotto so, honestly what is your point?? fighting a guy who is slicker, you say harder punching, faster etc, takes a punch better..why fight cotto? dont see ur point!
cotto's power is greater than manny's? how did you come up with that sentence? if your argument that manny has just "ok power" cause he couldn't "knock out" either cotto or dela hoya, then heck both of those guys couldn't even "knocked down" manny. who's more powerful now? angle shots, who gives a darn about that, that's how manny fights, just like mayweather is not a brawler, but a counter puncher (but that's how he fights).
@saiyan4321 you logic is faulty.. who's got more power.. pbf or castillio? in their second fight castillo couldn't knock down pbf but pbf actually knocked down castillo (rnd 2-3?) even though the ref didn't give him credit..so using your faulty logic, pbf has more power than castillo even though castillo was something like 45 fights with 41 KOs.
even with power there are other factors.. a) you have to actually connect b) a granite chin (like pacquiao seems to have) might mitigate your power etc
your brain is faulty cause you cannot understand outside your own opinion. you said it yourself it depends on how many times you hit your opponent. did it not occur to you that pbf is way slicker & faster than castillo. that's why he was knocked down like you said volumes of punches, is that power to you? while castillo could not even hit pbf that much. you don't even understand what your writing. it took only one punch from pacman to put down a welterweight, open your brain please.
and understand the concept that cotto won round 1, and was winning rounds 3 and 4 which means he was landing more punches (the only reason manny won rounds 3 and 4 is because of the "KNOCK DOWNS"). so don't say that manny was hitting him a lot and that was the only factor for him knocking cotto down (again that is down).
@boxinginfo as for manny's power..how many people have hit Cotto or ODLH that much? imo, that's what made those guys quit or be forced to quit..not power but connects. cotto's had a lot of knock downs in fights.. it just that his power that he comes back with is usually enough..with manny it wasn't.. manny's chin (that's what really impressed me mostly) and his speed made the difference, not his power..
another take away is that manny's power seems to diminish as a fight goes on too..
it took one upper cut punch from pacquiao to knock cotto down in the 4th round, this given the fact that cotto was winning the round and was connecting more against manny b4 the knockdown.
Hey Stork, you know anything about a featherweight from the early to mid 70s named Art Hafey? I knew very little about him but a documentary about him called The Toy Tiger is coming out.I found just a little footage of his fights, very impressive puncher that got a lot of leverage in his punches, really used his legs , and pivotted kinda like a young Tyson.Rolled with punches really well, that put him into position to land his own shots.Check it out.Interesting.
Pacman could have easily won a title in the 118 bantamweight division. He just didn't get a chance. I'd love to have seen him sweep all the way from flyweight to welterweight, 5 of 8 originial weight divisions.
i think he grew too big that he needs to move 2 division higher. if you really look at it, he was 106, had to move up to flyweight(112) and even there, he's still too big and lost, then had to move up to 2 more division to super bantam, skipping superflyweight and bantamweight. i think that's when he starts eating OK food. manny didn't get enough money after the barrera fight. manny didn't get paid well in the barrera fight because he was only a keep-busy fight.
this is the same as when pac was at 130, fighting morales 3rd time. he became too big for the division weighing 144lbs during the fight. manny didn't know that until the marquez 2 fight. they thought that manny didn't just train hard enough in the barrera 2 that's why he had trouble making weight but in the marquez 2, they knew that he's way too big for 130. even at 135, he was a big lightweight and had to move 1 more to 140lbs. i think manny right now is a true 140lbs fighter.
Hey Islander. I'm very upset at the Martinez vs Williams fight. I thought Martinez won 7-5 rounds. He landed the harder cleaner shots. Not once did I see Martinez hurt. I so mad at the 119-110 result. It's absolutely absurd.
Not really, 119-110 was a travesty indeed, but Williams landed more punches and jabs and power punches and kept coming BACK from those AWESOME punches from Martinez. He was the aggressor the whole fight despite the blows and Martinez was very spent much of the fight. Williams won 6 rounds outright and the 1st, 8th and 11th rounds could have gone either way. But damn Williams has ONE HELL OF A CHIN SHEEESH!!! CLASSIC FIGHT THOUGH xD
hi been watchin your vids for some time and i'm a big fan. But i think i'm finish with boxing.
I'm an irish guy living in oz and i've just watched the Danny Green vs Roy Jones fight.
Even though, I know this is a nothing fight, i have tried explaining to my Ozzie mates that even with an old jones this is a no contest fight. But then jones takes a DIVE in the first - can you please watch the fight and confirm my suspicions.
behanbabs- I watched it and actually Jones got hit kind of on top and the back of his head when he went down. His equilibrium was knocked off and he never recovered. Good win for Danny Green.
@boxinginfo I think it was the aura of green that just dazzled Jones more than a power bomb that wobbled him, Green stalked him like a predator, fearless, Jones didn't like that territory.
I agree with you mate, I live in Sydney and when DG knocked out RJJ I thought, so what . Roy with respect is way past his prime.I agree with Islander, Green v Adamek would be a challenge or even better Green V Dawson ?How about that ?
funeka got robbed...i will support that dude..he's classy and always gets taken advantage. no more canada fights...those judge should be ashamed. i wonder how much they got for fixing the fight...it's disgusting
mexifanatic- There is no way in hell Guzman got anywhere close to a draw, personally I think 116-112 was being generous to him. I'm not sure why HBO keeps showing him, why he could make 135 for Funeka but not Campbell. He's just a big disappointment, I can't imagine how his fans must feel.
i was a guzman hater but i don't ignore his skill when he was in his prime..or at least when he's fighting c level fighters. the decision hurt me a lot because i was cheering for funika..i really like him in the campbell fight and i already mention how i feel about guzman. i was very disgusted but bute and showtime fights made me feel better again.
Islander... after the the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight, I posted on this video that my prediction for next move for Arum is to put Chavez jr. vs Yuri foreman at 154 lbs then if Chavez win .... Pacquiao vs. Chavez at 154 but now I'm been reading that Pacquiao next opponent might be Yuri foreman at 154 for his belt before Mayweather because Pacquiao wants to fight before the election in the Philippines and Mayweather wants it at June.
The guy against Juan Urango was Herman Ngoujo ans the 10th round was a total crap...a 5 minutes more rounds...almost 2 rounds...It's bad for the reputation of Montreal.
Did you known that Ngoujo fight about 9 round with a broken jaw in this match?
Guilou25- Yes I did and Herman is 1 tough dude. My point to this whole thing which is now academic is, that THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE the round would be over just because the TV time clock said it was, and the proof was the Urango Ngoujo bout in pretty much the same venue.
dwyer70905's made a good point television doesnt do pacquiao speed justice ....its hard to actually grasp how fast he moves lateraly...only sometthing like a over head shot will really show how fast he really is
i agree man. dwyer is pretty good. he predicted the fight way back. i've been thinking about that for the longest time. manny's speed and footwork is deceptive on TV because manny uses his speed when moving to attack, not to dodge punches. that's why floyd, mosley, judah, etc, look so flashy because they use their speed to dodge punches and it looks good for camera.
I agree that MP doesn't have to fight FM; MP is already a living legend, and that won't change, win or lose against FM, and I think they should just give Floyd the 60-40 split. I know he doesn't deserve it, but the fans want to see this fight badly, and since when has boxing been a financially fair sport; Tyson shouldn't have earned more than $1 mill for his fight against Lewis, and I shouldn't have had to pay $50 to see it.
(cont) Just give Floyd what he wants, and win or lose, after the fight MP can just blow a kiss to the audience, then walk away from the sport for good as a legend. Floyd can then go back to ducking Mosley, Williams, Berto, etc.
I've told plenty of Cotto fans out there - don't get me wrong, Cotto is one of my favorite Boxers - however, Cotto's defense is simply attrocious. I knew from beat street that anyone with fast hands and movement will outpoint Cotto. Zab proved this in the early rounds of his fight with Cotto until he stopped fighting.
As far as FMJ goes - his defense and timing is sublime. Pacquiao has the tools to win, but then so did everyone else. FMJ wins by UD.
im laughing at the bristish broadcast of the pac cotto fight, they refer to pacquaio as a 5 time world champion after beating cotto, they dont count the featherweight and the jr welterweight. its like saying hatton wasn't legit all those years. yet duting pacquaio hatton they were hyping the ibo championship and how ricky held it (including the ring lineal title)for the past 5 years..another funny note paulie malanagi thinks pacs is on steroids ahhahaha while Zab Judah gave pac his props.
yeah Zab thinks Pac would beat floyd, the always arrogant Zab gave another fighter his props...i think some are learning from pacs humility...after that he was asked if he sees himslef fighting pac. in the past i think he would say he would kick pacs ass, but his reply was he just wasnt to be relevant all will focus on his fight...wow respectful? or being realistic who knows, but he won some fans over those statements.
the funny thing is..they kept calling hatton a world champion before the pac fight..then when pac got the ring and ibo, they suddenly don't recognize those belts.
another thing when hatton was dropped in the first round, they kept on saying something about hattons life style and previous wars finally showing... yeah right him attacking face first and pacs punches has nothing to do with it. its hattons life style that cause the kd...
the funny thing is, the punch that knocked him down is well documented in 24/7. they even critizied it as pac is doing it over and over, exactly the same thing..in the fight, that punch that they criticized was the one who knocked him down in the 1st.
Islander, what kind of nonsense are you babbling about reagrding Margaritos handwraps? It was confirmed that Margarito(or most likely his trainer) used a plaster cast like substance which led to a SUSPENSION and not a sponge,ok?The relation to Fritzie Zivic is particularly dumb as Zivic was known as an extremely dirty figher himself.May be you should reasearch the facts first before you utter such stupidities again...
boxing1000-GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT! CSAC report states traces of sulfur and phosphate were found in Margarito's wraps, NOT PLASTER LEARN TO READ OR DON'T PARTICIPATE!
My problem is HBO is trying to shot a dead fucking horse 110 times and now I'm laughing b/c all the slander and conspiracy tying this shit to Cotto it MUTE after Pacquiao rearranged his face just as good as Margarito, I guess they should test Pacquiao's wraps as well huh?
I have done my research that why I make videos little buddy
Ward vs Kessler, Talent vs Eperience. I'm rooting for Andre, but this fight is a toss up to me. Kessler's power and experience gives him the slight edge. I'm still leaning towards Andre by split desicion, but who knows.
you dont have to lunge at a fighter that is stationary. cotto made a huge mistake when he decided to trade shots and just stay stationary after the 1 round. he clearly outboxed manny in the first round but then in the second decided to trade shots and just stay stationary for too long. he did the same thing in the 3 and 4 round which led to the knockdown's. when cotto showed movement and the jab we clearly got to see manny is still the same fighter since the jmm.
Shacasulu - sorry I didn't see him linge at Cotto even in the first round, he doesn't have to his feet get him into punching range then out of harms way, especially against a guy who just throws one shot at a time.
pacquiao is still lunging at times. he didnt do it that often because like i said cotto became stationary when pacquiao started letting his hands go. when cotto started being stationary manny didn't need to lunge as his target is stationary. in the first round cotto made pac lunge at 1:32 and :23 of the round. all cotto did was not stay staionary, cotto just took a step back at thats it pacquiao lunged. if it was marquez he would have come back with his own combination. (continued)
but cotto just took a step back and pivoted out of the way of pacquiao which aint too bad either because would then have to reset.
now pacquiao has fast feet and he uses them well but i wouldn't be surprised if mayweather with his smarts and reach can neutralize his fast feet by giving pacquiao different angles and constantly using his jab along with counters. both pacquiao and mayweather will be facing styles that they have never faced before which to me makes the match up so interesting.
thanks for the response Boxinginfo. i hope you can do a video about this steroid thing. i hope a popular boxing pundit will take this issue, examine it, investigate it, and put this issue to rest so people can know the truth about this steroid thing.
i'm a pac fan and don't believe he's using steroids. i don't believe that roach, ariza, and manny are going put their reputation on the line, knowing that there will be experts out there who are always on the look out for substance abusers.
to eveyrone, i have a question.. i know this may look irrelevant but i really just have to ask. who do y ou think will win, humberto soto vs the pacman of 2006-2007, i was dying to see this fight and unfortunately it didnt.
How does it enhance a fighter's skills? I don't believe the allegations that Floyd Sr is accusing Pacquiao, but something like that can tarnish someone's reputation even if it's all bullsh*t.
sourpus09- Let's look @ somebody guilty of fighting on steroids Fernando Vargas vs. Oscar DelaHoya. The only thing it looked like they did for him was help him be competitive a little longer.
Steroids were designed to either help the body heel artificially faster or enhance the functions of certain organs. Dr.'s prescribe them to help people who have trouble breathing or have a serious rash to aid the heeling process. I'm sure there's many more. People are acting like Manny is on PCP Angeldust.
angeldust will not give you any good in boxing. having angeldust in your system doesn't require any test to notice that the guy is on it. everyone can tell by looking at his eyes and movement. it may give you crazy strength but it will also distort your senses and severly disoriented. it will make you a sitting target. increased heat rate and rapid breathing, and violence. being violent in a fight will not help you fight a patient, smart fight.
aznvedz-I agree w/you 100% but the haters are making like something outrageous is going on for Manny to have taken Cotto's best shots.
Lets take a trip down memory lane shall we?
Remember right after the Margarito beat down of Cotto? What was the 1st thing out of the Cotto fan club's peanut gallery? They claimed Margarito was on steroids b/c they couldn't believe he could take so many of Cotto's clean bombs and still come back at him.
@boxinginfo - oh yeah. i remember that. haters tend to find something to tarnish a guy's reputation. I've compiled Pacquiao's weight at the weigh in and during the fight:
for those who are saying manny moved up in weight too fast and too lean...manny has already been tipping the 144s way back in 2006. he's been gaining 15lbs which is crazy for a 130lb fighter. in the barrera 2, marquez 2, and diaz, pacquiao clearly look dehydrated during the weigh in. this show that manny was not fighting at 100% at 130lbs because he's been cutting too much weight. as he moves up, he gets better because he doesn't need to cut more weight. This is similar to Miguel Cotto's case.
if you really look at pac's weight. he looks like he should have been fighting at 140 back in 06 but he fought 4 fights (solis fight too) at 130. he's been draining himself at 130 because that where he has unfinished business and big money. Nazeem knows this. like he said: "All of these guys underestimate Pacquiao thinking he's the small man. When I met Pacquiao, I wasn't saying how does this guy make welterweight? I was saying how in the hell was he making 130 and 135? Pacquiao is a big dude."
@Islander - I think we can both agree that Mosley is an ATG. He should outpoint Berto to a decision. I expect Berto to give Mosley trouble in the opening rounds. To bring up the Collazo-Berto bout; minus being southpaw. Once Berto started getting touched, he'd back away thus giving Luis room to land leather. Mosley will expose Berto's fatal flaw.
In terms of MP/FMJ. A fight with any of those three will make a good money fight. More so SSM-FMJ than MP. SSM-FMJ is ten years in the making.
@MistNin i think if floyd loses to pac then we might see floyd shane. if floyd wins, we see him retiring or fool his dumb fans again to buy a hatton-mayweather in UK.
@aznvedz - I think FMJ may commit suicide if he loses against Pac'. That's just my opinion. However, FMJ-MP then if all goes well a fight against another WW in the UK unless they offer him a very lucrative payday against SSM in which I see FMJ jumping to that opportunity quick.
FMJ in the UK would produce huge numbers. Especially if Hatton is in tow. Using Ricky to boost FMJ's noteriety brings fans and money. Which could lead to a huge PPV buyout in the states. FMJ markets himself perfectly.
i think jr, sr, and roger will commit suicide if they lose to pac. don't worry, i heard that FMJ will fight in UK first before fighting pacquioa. while pacquiao rest, FMJ wants another tuneup in UK before facing pacquiao.
MIstNin- You are correct we do agree Mosley is an all time great and at this very moment I think his legacy is a hell of a lot more secure than one FMJ.
I just hope Mosley looks good all the way through the fight b/c he has been inconsistent as of late. Also people are discounting how many clean jabs Margarito bounced Mosley's head back with which is quite alarming to me.
@boxinginfo - I agree. SSM has fought great opponents: the late and great Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, De La Hoya, et cetera. Easily HoF material, without a doubt.
I recall those jabs you are referring to. Margo did produce copious amounts of power behind those punches. I expected a replay of Winky-SSM in the Margo bout, however I was proved incorrect when I saw him get TKO'd. I didn't think Mosley could produce a solid volume of punches against Margo; atleast enough to TKO him.
elcholo- YW - Fucking HBO won't let it go! I wanted to hear how the condition of Cotto's face after Pacquiao compared with it after he ate over 200 of Margarito's shots. Notice there hasn't been much mention of it.
i do agree with the whole 4/8 original weight class thing it is special. the catchweight was bull but watever no more catchweight bull from pac he can make 145 but the other can make 147lb limit.
the ring mag keep pulling this bullshit, but pac is the closest p4p their is.
elchololo- I'll tell you why. HBO is in a GAY marriage w/Golden Boy Promotions. In 2008 they had this grand scheme of having Oscar fight Forbes which he did then Mayweather a rematch which fell through and finally a December rumble with undefeated Cotto. WHO FUCKED THE WHOLE THING UP? Answer Margarito, b/c after he beat down Cotto, DelaHoya had no place to turn except Pacquiao another Top Rank boxer and instead of going into retirement a winner he was humiliated. This is the real reason.
You have Margarito fan company, elchololo. They don't make many animals like him. I don't usually go for the brutes, but every once in a while someone like him comes along who takes more damage and keeps moving forward who just makes your jaw drop. Fuck HBO. What kind of bug do they have up their collective asses, and why? Okay, they humped Cotto, and are now embarrassed, so they have to justify their bare ass....but shit!
fairalways- just read my explanation I gave elchololo about the way 2008 went down, believe me tens of milions of dollars went flushing down the drain when Mayweather snubbed Oscar and Margarito beat the living hell out of Cotto. Trust me on this, the Pacquiao-DelaHoya fight was a no win situation for Oscar and a NO LOSE situation for Pacquiao and Top Rank and it ended up the worst way it could for Golden Showers Promotions. Pardon my disdain for Oscar's crap.
Yeah, I read it right after I posted. I don't see how these promoters think this posturing can be good for boxing in the long run. It's all so short sighted.
im totally agree with you storkjmc remember when i comment on you on pacquiao diaz fight say to you watch and learn pacquiao will stop diaz, i have alot of respect on you storkjmc keep up the good work peace man ,step up your game mayweather
islander , again i think your review was spot on . i am neutral about fmj v pac , pacman is as quick as fmj and i think fmj is only back for the money . in my opinion pacman will put too much pressure on fmj and have too much power and also have a bit more discipline than hatton did and not get caught ..p.s , why do you call him " the liar "
I disagree about the Kessler Ward fight, i see nothing in Ward that will trouble Kessler other than the 3 American judges and ref (which is totally in contradiction to the contract that Ward signed for the Super 6 but i digress.) Kessler shoud stop Ward or win a wide UD, Ward wasn't impressive against a limited Miranda who isn't even a gatekeeper.
stork..i remember what you said that MANNY PACQUAIO is the guy whom gayweather sr is telling about to his son gayweather jr.that this is the type of a fighter that you should run away..thats why floyd is talking tyo much excuses once again.
Floyd is actually crafty and a bit more technical its not gonna be an easy fight for pacquiao but he can come through cause he can take floyd's punches for sure and he has to move smart more smarter than his cotto fight, he said he let cotto punch him so he can see if he can take it, if that's true then he has a bigger chance to win against the liar.
(part 2 Ihope that part 1 got uploded I don't see it)
I thing Mosley has the skills to posibly beat Mayweather but he dose not fight at his best every fight. even if he did he still might not be good enough to beat Mayweather. Williams because of his size and Pacquiao because of his speed have the best chances at beating Mayweather. I would pick Mayweather over both of them as well.
Looks like my first part didn't get posted so basicly. I respect your opinion but I think you are wrong in regaurds to Mayweather. I don't think you can duck opoents who you would easly beat Cotto and Margrito. Also I don't know if Margrito's gloves were loaded or not vs. Mosley and Cotto but showing a photo of Zivic the man who wrote the book on cheating on boxing is not the best way to defend Margrito if that was your aim.
Islander, I think you are going for Ward because of Kesslers Post Calzaghe fights. Im unsure about Kessler Ward, I favour Kessler skill wise just havent seen the pre Calzaghe Kessler in his recent fights, hopefully he can pull the old Kessler out of the bag, to make this tournament interesting.
A lot of the time boxers are fighting down to their opponents level. I don't think Mikkel is done psychologically at all. People were saying the same things about Calzaghe before the fight with Kessler!
excellant points Islander, THE LIAR is at it again, hypocritally he said that Pacquiao wouldnt answer if he wanted to fight FMJ, however after FMJ's fight with Marquez, he couldnt say whether he was willing to fight Mosley or Pacquaio. Even if The LIAR beats Pacquaio I think Pacquiao still will be higher in the list of all time greats.
I think Pac Vs The Liar, the fight will be close and be decided on points, I think we wont have a good idea till at least the 6th round who is going to win.
Great show Stork.Seems like old times, with two show within 10 days. Like you said in a previous show, the walls are closing in on Floyd. If he doesnt fight Pac in his next fight, its clear he is frightened of losing to Pac. Even Floyd's strongest supporters are finally beginning to see what Floyd is really all about. You can hear the whispers. PEACE
boxinginfo.. I have to admit you have a different way of showing, not just telling of boxing knowledge to a regular fans. Us fans sometimes get all caught up with hype, skills, popularity. It's like lecture in boxing101. It gave me some strong insights and made me look on different aspects of the fight or the fighter. More power to you!
ei stork.. where do you rank pac at atg? and who do you think pac can beat at top 20 goat? i believe he's in the top 15 and maybe top 10 if he beats floyd.
bryanzkhi- Lets not jinx "The Living Legend" just remember what I said in the video, b/c its the sincerist thing I can say of Pacquiao and to his fans, "Slices of world titles in 4 of the original 8 weight classes" You have no idea how really important that is. Only a handful have won world titles in 3 of the original 8 like Bob Fitzsimmons, Henry Armstrong, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Roy Jones Jr. Pacquiao has done something they haven't done, its legendary.
please talk why some people suddenly say Manny is on Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDS)??
Are they resonable with their observation??
I believe Manny is NOT on PEDS though.
Nice vid again, enriching especially the pic of the sponge guy who defeated Armstrong, probably that is/was the practice then. But pls be informed that sponge is DIFFERENT from plaster. Another fact I got from you is the FOUR WEIGHT divs only Pacquiao did which Armstrong didn't even accomplish!
it's always like that. sugar ray leonard was accused of using steroids too. that always happens when your success is beginning to grow massively. Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, GSP, etc have been accused too.
i agree. now I know the reason this BoxingInfo guy did not reply to my question. He doesn't want to go down to that level and dignify such blck propaganda.
anyway the Nevada Verdict just came out and reported in CNN and Sports Illustrated. Manny Pacquiao is CLEARED os any banned substance used.
we should treat this steroid accusation as proof of how UNBELIEVABLY DOMINANT he really is as a boxer. Perhaps greatest of all time. now only time will tell....as we wait and watch with moths agape.
@stork - don't you think pac's body look a little watery in the cotto fight? similar to marquez...but marquez is just way too much water and some fat...manny looks like muscle and water...what do you think?
Another great viedo. Really, i dont think that we can consider Paul Williams is really a welterweight anymore? He hasn't made that weight in about eighteen months. Your completly right about Pac not lunging in. He's actually standing real straight most of the time. I completly agree with you about Ward over Kessler. Not comparing him to Calzaghe, but Ward can do some of the same things to Kessler that he did, plus he's been way more active.I have him winning the decision and deserving.
Can you please go and have a chat with Blood Boxing about manny pacquiao.I have a lot of respect for Blood, but he seems to have a personal agenda against manny that means he is incapable of giving him his props. Manny is a true star, as for whether he could beat Floyd....... i dunno, what i do know is that ive lost a lot of money betting against him in his last 3 fights, not sure i'll ever bet against him again!!
Good show as always Professor Islander. Pac gave Cotto a good beating. But I still think Mayweather beats Pacqquiao, not easily, but he does. I would love to see Pac beat him, but I don't see him winning.
FMJ hate leftys. He was hurt against Corley, dropped against Zab and even Sharmba was able to put accurate combos together. FMJ fights scared and Pac would struggle to find his chin but I think he could drop him if he connected.
I'm going with Kessler in a UD or SD. He does all the basics well and doesn't mind taking some to get his own off. Can't wait for this fight.
He does indeed, but the point is that they are no where near Pac in terms of punch power, speed, accuracy and footwork. Corley physically hurt FMJ and sent him across the ring with an unseen right. My question is how would FMJ react to a Pac punch or three?
The only one you can really compare to Pac is Judah. Judah has fast hands and feet, and he has quite a dig on him too. Other then that Pac is a far superior fighter to any other southpaw Mayweather has faced, but Mayweather is a far superior fighter to anyone Pac has faced. It will be a very intriging fight. No one really hits Mayweather with 3 clean shots in a row, but if anyone can do that, its Pacquiao.
Watch the sharmba fight, he gets 3 shots directly into Floyds face right at the end of the second. Pac is similar to Calzaghe in that he throws shots from all angles and is difficult to read.
I think that FMJ would feel Pacs power and run while pot shotting. Almost the way Cotto did in the latter part of his fight. It could end up being a boring one sided affair with FMJ winning a UD. However, I would be confident that Roach would have a plan for that.
Saw them all including a couple live. Shame he didn't make his impact in the US before he changed his punch technique to preserve his hands. Everyone now thinks he just slaps but when you watch the Mitchell KO or Sheika KO you see the power difference.
Yeah Roy Jones Jr even said that Calzaghes so called slaps hurt him. I liked the Mitchell fight. I never get tired of watching the beating he gave Lacy though. In my opinion one of the best masterclass' in the past 20 years.
Islander....I think the next move for Arum is to put Chavez jr. against Yuri Forman then if Chavez win.... Arum will put Manny vs. Chavez. Smart calculated move another Phillipines vs. Mexico. Win-win situation for Arum. You hear it first from me.
great vid .. your opinions are no BS.

Cotto won round 1,5 & 10 only. How could you gave round 4 to Cotto when ke kissed the canvas?
RANIPOE 2 years ago
knockouts aside, cotto only won 3 rounds, rounds 1,4, and 10 I believe, 10 was manny resting I think, if you count knockouts, then only 2 rounds, kinda a dismantling I believe. Cotto is a true warrior for giving it his all, props to both fighters

Islander, I'm wondering how FM will handle Pac who throws from his kind of odd angles with speed power and accuracy. Are there any comparables out there to give us some idea of how FM will approach this?
fairalways 2 years ago
I find this comparison of PBF-Hatton fight with that of Pacquiao-Hatton as proof of Manny having only 'ok' power, rather faulty. On the other hand it is indeed proof of Manny's awesome power he brought to Cotto fight. It's because at welter,a bigger PBF was fighting a smaller Hatton. While at Jr.Welter, a smaller Pacquiao sent the bigger Hatton to dreamland in rd 2.
reigncourts 2 years ago
@reigncourts - who cares about that weight shit..MANNY IS A WELTERWEIGHT..you guys need to stop talking about this smaller bigger bullsh!t..pacquiao just TKO'd one of the biggest, strongest elite welterweights out there (Cotto) and took everything he could throw back..in my book that make manny a legit welterweight..
we do have laws over here about 16 yr olds being pro boxers, but how much you figure pbf weighed @ 16? these guys are the same size..from same wt classes..STOP THE FUCK'N EXCUSES!
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
doc Spoc: I agree. But why bitch about Manny having no awsome but just ok power? A bigger man do have greater power than a smaller man especially if we talk of the same boxer. The point is Pacquiao brought his speed & power to the welterweight like
very few others have done. Marquez didn't but
Armstrong did.
reigncourts 2 years ago
power is there buddy but those guys had just enough stamina to stand on their feet okay...
dtdrolf 2 years ago
@dtdrolf - manny has 'ok' power.. but if you hit ODLH and Cotto as much as manny hit ODLH and Cotto and you can't knock them out... you obviously don't have AMAZING power.. if you did, you'd be able to put them asleep..
as well as speed and output of connects.. there is the fact that manny lands shots from angles that fighter's don't expect to get hit from.. those shots can hurt a fighter much more than the ones they see coming.. that's what hurt cotto especially
--> manny = just ok power..
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
pacquiao knocked cotto down on rounds 3-4, surely you would not believe that cotto was hit a lot already at that point in the match. especially considering he (cotto) won round 1 and was winning rounds 3 and 4 before the knockdowns.
saiyan4321 2 years ago
@saiyan4321 AGAIN..he knocked him DOWN... did he knock him "OUT"? how come he couldn't knock either of cotto or DLH out? by the end of those fights he hit them a whole lot.. RIGHT?
rnd 3&4 punches were from weird angles & those hurt more than ones that a fighter sees and can prepare himself to absorb.. i.e. they don't have to be as powerful to hurt.. as lederman said in pbf v hatton.. later in the fight pacquiao hit him with everything except his stool and the ref and he didn't go down..
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
isn't that what i said, he "knocked cotto down". please read it again. someone hits you in the chin and you go down with your legs wobbly a bit, don't you think that's a power shot? sure de la hoya did not go down (so much for the weight drained shit) but he was a much bigger man the pacquiao , you really don't expect pacquiao to be able to put dela hoya to sleep did you (because no one has, except for mosley body shot i believe), but that does not mean pacquiao's punches are not powerful.
saiyan4321 2 years ago
@saiyan4321 - you simply don't know your facts.. pacquiao actually weighed more than ODLH on fight night.. he WAS totally weight drained.. on fight night pacquiao was actually the bigger man by several pounds in that fight!
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
if your asking people to stop making excuses for pacquiao then you should stop making excuses for his opponents as well. is it pacquiao's fault dela hoya weighed a "mere" 1 pound lesser than him? no. if we follow your facts then with the cotto fight manny weighed in 1 lb less than cotto, then that makes cotto bigger than pacquiao right? (especially when your claiming that pac is now a welter). point is he put down a bigger guy, that means he's got a heck of a punch.
saiyan4321 2 years ago
doctor spoc, for your info, Oscar weigh 147 on fight night while Manny weigh 148 Lbs. Manny did not several Pounds advantage against Oscar like you said. Get the FACT STRAIGHT!
RANIPOE 2 years ago
How stupid could ODH be draining himself 2 lbs under the weight-limit on weigh-in day?
The dude went on low-carb hi-protein diet and was jogging in the morning and training a few hours later so he could fool around in the afternoon.
He wasn't drained.
He was stupid.
joeygonzo 2 years ago
if your basis for having awesome power is "knocking out" opponents then all boxers only have "ok power" cause all their record include have either a 12th round ud or just decision, heck even a draw (except for valero who's 26 wins are knock outs, but he only fights bums anyways).
saiyan4321 2 years ago
Oh Really dumb ass hah...what about hatton you fuck! what about the TKO you cunt!
bantayogband 2 years ago
-Hatton is junior welterweight 140 lbs not 147.. DUMB ASS!! we were talking welterweight.. right DUMB ASS??
-even boxinginfo said that pbf only has just ok power for welterweight and he knocked him out too
-funny how when pbf knocks hatton out when he was an undefeated fighter & the haters come with every excuse.. AFTER the fight why it wasnt a big deal.. before hatton was the pbf killer..manny does it and..oh god that was SO amazing! sure manny does it faster but they are dif style fighters
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
I think alot of people are still in great hangovers when a smaller guy shocked the world. I dont believe that Pac has no welterweight power when he knocked cotto in 3rd and 4th round. What do you want to call it? Do you think it wasnt power? Then what was that? Dont you think it wasnt power when DLH was dismantled? What was that again? At junior welter when he put hatton on a almost fatal KO, what was that again?
bantayogband 2 years ago
uuuhhhmmm... those are called knock DOWNs not knock OUTs... DUMB ASS!! LMAO!!!

he didn't refer to cotto's KD as knock outs he said knocked... read properly dude.... and you call him a dumb ass eiii lol at the same time you didn't answer his question.... peace dude.......
misayde 2 years ago
@misayde you forget... his post was in response to MINE.. maybe YOU should learn how to read.
I made the statement that Pacquiao didn't have devastating power at WELTERWEIGHT (i.e. one punch knockout power).. evidence: he couldn't knock out Oscar and he couldn't knock out Cotto..he made them quit but that was mostly based on his speed and athleticism, but so much his power.. he couldn't finish the show.. numb nuts comes in and starts talkin about hatton, who is a junior welter weight?? huh??
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
everyone thought margacheatos chin was indestructible.. but when you are not able to dish out when you are taking, not able to wear your competition down..good chin or not..eventually you are in big trouble..chin & power dont mean shit if you cant connect..want to know what pacquiao v pbf will look like.. look at margacheato v mosely or look at pbf v corrales (RIP).. mannys 3rd knock out is also a definite possibility given just how hittable manny was even for cotto and pbfs motivation level
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
pacqiao v mayweather is going to look something like mosely v margarito... manny, is just too easy to hit and unlike cotto who has NO head movement an shitty defense.. pacquiao is just not going to be able to connect more than once or twice (single shots) here and there and mayweather will make this look pretty easy. thats why mayweather signed so fast..must have said we want that guy who fought cotto, no adjustments.. we can make easy work of that guy.
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
take aways from Cotto v Pacquiao
a)Paquiao takes the punch of a welterweight really well.. much better than i suspected and i think most, including cotto
b)Pacquiao has good, but not devastating power at welterweight..cuoldnt put away oscar or cotto with a punch
c)if you see how many times cotto snapped mannys head back and how swollen up & cut his face was w broken ear drum manny still has many flaws..gets hit way too much..cottos no wasnt around long enough to take full advantage
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
docSpoc- here are my take aways and I agree with yours pretty much:
Nothing in terms of power that Mayweather dishes is out is even comparable to Cotto.
In regards to Pacquiao's power it may not be 1 punch power but how many people have ever stopped ODLH @ 147 or scored KD's over Cotto @145+ when he wasn't decidedly taking a knee?
I also think Pac is tougher to hit than we give him credit for, remember Pacquiao took a fight w/Cotto and Mayweather wouldn't no matter what spin he puts on it.
boxinginfo 2 years ago
@boxinginfo agreed, cottos powr greater than pbf's.. so what? i think cotto's power is greater than manny's.. how did it help him? like i said, if you can't hit the other enough it doesn't really mean much.. who has more power,Bute or Andrade? see what i'm saying.
as for cotto v pbf.. he's is fighting the guy that just demolished cotto so, honestly what is your point?? fighting a guy who is slicker, you say harder punching, faster etc, takes a punch better..why fight cotto? dont see ur point!
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
cotto's power is greater than manny's? how did you come up with that sentence? if your argument that manny has just "ok power" cause he couldn't "knock out" either cotto or dela hoya, then heck both of those guys couldn't even "knocked down" manny. who's more powerful now? angle shots, who gives a darn about that, that's how manny fights, just like mayweather is not a brawler, but a counter puncher (but that's how he fights).
saiyan4321 2 years ago
@saiyan4321 you logic is faulty.. who's got more power.. pbf or castillio? in their second fight castillo couldn't knock down pbf but pbf actually knocked down castillo (rnd 2-3?) even though the ref didn't give him credit..so using your faulty logic, pbf has more power than castillo even though castillo was something like 45 fights with 41 KOs.
even with power there are other factors.. a) you have to actually connect b) a granite chin (like pacquiao seems to have) might mitigate your power etc
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
your brain is faulty cause you cannot understand outside your own opinion. you said it yourself it depends on how many times you hit your opponent. did it not occur to you that pbf is way slicker & faster than castillo. that's why he was knocked down like you said volumes of punches, is that power to you? while castillo could not even hit pbf that much. you don't even understand what your writing. it took only one punch from pacman to put down a welterweight, open your brain please.
saiyan4321 2 years ago
and understand the concept that cotto won round 1, and was winning rounds 3 and 4 which means he was landing more punches (the only reason manny won rounds 3 and 4 is because of the "KNOCK DOWNS"). so don't say that manny was hitting him a lot and that was the only factor for him knocking cotto down (again that is down).
saiyan4321 2 years ago
@saiyan4321 - re-read what i wrote a couple more times.. your reading comprehension is not very good... i'm not going to re-write it.
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
@boxinginfo as for manny's power..how many people have hit Cotto or ODLH that much? imo, that's what made those guys quit or be forced to quit..not power but connects. cotto's had a lot of knock downs in fights.. it just that his power that he comes back with is usually enough..with manny it wasn't.. manny's chin (that's what really impressed me mostly) and his speed made the difference, not his power..
another take away is that manny's power seems to diminish as a fight goes on too..
doctorSpoc 2 years ago
it took one upper cut punch from pacquiao to knock cotto down in the 4th round, this given the fact that cotto was winning the round and was connecting more against manny b4 the knockdown.
saiyan4321 2 years ago

EricaKim2000 2 years ago
i think he grew too big that he needs to move 2 division higher. if you really look at it, he was 106, had to move up to flyweight(112) and even there, he's still too big and lost, then had to move up to 2 more division to super bantam, skipping superflyweight and bantamweight. i think that's when he starts eating OK food. manny didn't get enough money after the barrera fight. manny didn't get paid well in the barrera fight because he was only a keep-busy fight.
aznvedz 2 years ago
this is the same as when pac was at 130, fighting morales 3rd time. he became too big for the division weighing 144lbs during the fight. manny didn't know that until the marquez 2 fight. they thought that manny didn't just train hard enough in the barrera 2 that's why he had trouble making weight but in the marquez 2, they knew that he's way too big for 130. even at 135, he was a big lightweight and had to move 1 more to 140lbs. i think manny right now is a true 140lbs fighter.

Hey Islander. I'm very upset at the Martinez vs Williams fight. I thought Martinez won 7-5 rounds. He landed the harder cleaner shots. Not once did I see Martinez hurt. I so mad at the 119-110 result. It's absolutely absurd.
Silent650 2 years ago
Not really, 119-110 was a travesty indeed, but Williams landed more punches and jabs and power punches and kept coming BACK from those AWESOME punches from Martinez. He was the aggressor the whole fight despite the blows and Martinez was very spent much of the fight. Williams won 6 rounds outright and the 1st, 8th and 11th rounds could have gone either way. But damn Williams has ONE HELL OF A CHIN SHEEESH!!! CLASSIC FIGHT THOUGH xD

The guy against Juan Urango was Herman Ngoujo ans the 10th round was a total crap...a 5 minutes more rounds...almost 2 rounds...It's bad for the reputation of Montreal.
Did you known that Ngoujo fight about 9 round with a broken jaw in this match?
Guilou25 2 years ago
Guilou25- Yes I did and Herman is 1 tough dude. My point to this whole thing which is now academic is, that THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE the round would be over just because the TV time clock said it was, and the proof was the Urango Ngoujo bout in pretty much the same venue.

emersoneee2008 2 years ago
i agree man. dwyer is pretty good. he predicted the fight way back. i've been thinking about that for the longest time. manny's speed and footwork is deceptive on TV because manny uses his speed when moving to attack, not to dodge punches. that's why floyd, mosley, judah, etc, look so flashy because they use their speed to dodge punches and it looks good for camera.

I agree that MP doesn't have to fight FM; MP is already a living legend, and that won't change, win or lose against FM, and I think they should just give Floyd the 60-40 split. I know he doesn't deserve it, but the fans want to see this fight badly, and since when has boxing been a financially fair sport; Tyson shouldn't have earned more than $1 mill for his fight against Lewis, and I shouldn't have had to pay $50 to see it.
bluenote71 2 years ago
(cont) Just give Floyd what he wants, and win or lose, after the fight MP can just blow a kiss to the audience, then walk away from the sport for good as a legend. Floyd can then go back to ducking Mosley, Williams, Berto, etc.
bluenote71 2 years ago
I've told plenty of Cotto fans out there - don't get me wrong, Cotto is one of my favorite Boxers - however, Cotto's defense is simply attrocious. I knew from beat street that anyone with fast hands and movement will outpoint Cotto. Zab proved this in the early rounds of his fight with Cotto until he stopped fighting.
As far as FMJ goes - his defense and timing is sublime. Pacquiao has the tools to win, but then so did everyone else. FMJ wins by UD.

im laughing at the bristish broadcast of the pac cotto fight, they refer to pacquaio as a 5 time world champion after beating cotto, they dont count the featherweight and the jr welterweight. its like saying hatton wasn't legit all those years. yet duting pacquaio hatton they were hyping the ibo championship and how ricky held it (including the ring lineal title)for the past 5 years..another funny note paulie malanagi thinks pacs is on steroids ahhahaha while Zab Judah gave pac his props.

yeah Zab thinks Pac would beat floyd, the always arrogant Zab gave another fighter his props...i think some are learning from pacs humility...after that he was asked if he sees himslef fighting pac. in the past i think he would say he would kick pacs ass, but his reply was he just wasnt to be relevant all will focus on his fight...wow respectful? or being realistic who knows, but he won some fans over those statements.

another thing when hatton was dropped in the first round, they kept on saying something about hattons life style and previous wars finally showing... yeah right him attacking face first and pacs punches has nothing to do with it. its hattons life style that cause the kd...
misayde 2 years ago
the funny thing is, the punch that knocked him down is well documented in 24/7. they even critizied it as pac is doing it over and over, exactly the same thing..in the fight, that punch that they criticized was the one who knocked him down in the 1st.

Islander, what kind of nonsense are you babbling about reagrding Margaritos handwraps? It was confirmed that Margarito(or most likely his trainer) used a plaster cast like substance which led to a SUSPENSION and not a sponge,ok?The relation to Fritzie Zivic is particularly dumb as Zivic was known as an extremely dirty figher himself.May be you should reasearch the facts first before you utter such stupidities again...
boxing1000 2 years ago
boxing1000-GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT!

Ward vs Kessler, Talent vs Eperience. I'm rooting for Andre, but this fight is a toss up to me. Kessler's power and experience gives him the slight edge. I'm still leaning towards Andre by split desicion, but who knows.
Silent650 2 years ago
you dont have to lunge at a fighter that is stationary. cotto made a huge mistake when he decided to trade shots and just stay stationary after the 1 round. he clearly outboxed manny in the first round but then in the second decided to trade shots and just stay stationary for too long. he did the same thing in the 3 and 4 round which led to the knockdown's. when cotto showed movement and the jab we clearly got to see manny is still the same fighter since the jmm.
shacasulu 2 years ago
Shacasulu - sorry I didn't see him linge at Cotto even in the first round, he doesn't have to his feet get him into punching range then out of harms way, especially against a guy who just throws one shot at a time.
boxinginfo 2 years ago
pacquiao is still lunging at times. he didnt do it that often because like i said cotto became stationary when pacquiao started letting his hands go. when cotto started being stationary manny didn't need to lunge as his target is stationary. in the first round cotto made pac lunge at 1:32 and :23 of the round. all cotto did was not stay staionary, cotto just took a step back at thats it pacquiao lunged. if it was marquez he would have come back with his own combination. (continued)
shacasulu 2 years ago
but cotto just took a step back and pivoted out of the way of pacquiao which aint too bad either because would then have to reset.
now pacquiao has fast feet and he uses them well but i wouldn't be surprised if mayweather with his smarts and reach can neutralize his fast feet by giving pacquiao different angles and constantly using his jab along with counters. both pacquiao and mayweather will be facing styles that they have never faced before which to me makes the match up so interesting.
shacasulu 2 years ago
i totally agree...pacman vs mayweather is just an icing to the cake for pacman...

thanks for the response Boxinginfo. i hope you can do a video about this steroid thing. i hope a popular boxing pundit will take this issue, examine it, investigate it, and put this issue to rest so people can know the truth about this steroid thing.
i'm a pac fan and don't believe he's using steroids. i don't believe that roach, ariza, and manny are going put their reputation on the line, knowing that there will be experts out there who are always on the look out for substance abusers.

Hey Mr Boxinginfo... great video and analysis.
Can you talk about steroids and boxing?
How does it enhance a fighter's skills? I don't believe the allegations that Floyd Sr is accusing Pacquiao, but something like that can tarnish someone's reputation even if it's all bullsh*t.
sourpus09 2 years ago
sourpus09- Let's look @ somebody guilty of fighting on steroids Fernando Vargas vs.
People are acting like Manny is on PCP Angeldust.
boxinginfo 2 years ago
yes stork i feel that chavez jr doesnt have any phyiscal gifts that his father had like a mule chin not strong niether.
just not an athlete watsoever just plain garbage. u give him angulo he he will get ripped in half.
and he looked chubby at 160 also.
P4p775 2 years ago
angeldust will not give you any good in boxing. having angeldust in your system doesn't require any test to notice that the guy is on it. everyone can tell by looking at his eyes and movement. it may give you crazy strength but it will also distort your senses and severly disoriented. it will make you a sitting target. increased heat rate and rapid breathing, and violence. being violent in a fight will not help you fight a patient, smart fight.
aznvedz 2 years ago
aznvedz-I agree w/you 100% but the haters are making like something outrageous is going on for Manny to have taken Cotto's best shots.
Remember this nonsense?
boxinginfo 2 years ago
@boxinginfo - oh yeah. i remember that. haters tend to find something to tarnish a guy's reputation. I've compiled Pacquiao's weight at the weigh in and during the fight:
Barrera 1 in Oct 03 was 125 to 136
Morales 1 in Mar 05 was 130 to 139
Morales 2 in Jan 06 was 129 to 140
Morales 3 in Nov 06 was 129 to 144
Barrera 2 in Oct 07 was 130 to 144
Marquez 2 in Mar 08 was 129 to 146
Diaz in June 08 was 134 to 147
DLH in Dec 08 was 142 to 148.5
Hatton in May 09 138 to 148
aznvedz 2 years ago
for those who are saying manny moved up in weight too fast and too lean...manny has already been tipping the 144s way back in 2006. he's been gaining 15lbs which is crazy for a 130lb fighter. in the barrera 2, marquez 2, and diaz, pacquiao clearly look dehydrated during the weigh in. this show that manny was not fighting at 100% at 130lbs because he's been cutting too much weight. as he moves up, he gets better because he doesn't need to cut more weight. This is similar to Miguel Cotto's case.
aznvedz 2 years ago
if you really look at pac's weight. he looks like he should have been fighting at 140 back in 06 but he fought 4 fights (solis fight too) at 130. he's been draining himself at 130 because that where he has unfinished business and big money.

MistNin 2 years ago
@MistNin i think if floyd loses to pac then we might see floyd shane. if floyd wins, we see him retiring or fool his dumb fans again to buy a hatton-mayweather in UK.
aznvedz 2 years ago
@aznvedz - I think FMJ may commit suicide if he loses against Pac'. That's just my opinion. However, FMJ-MP then if all goes well a fight against another WW in the UK unless they offer him a very lucrative payday against SSM in which I see FMJ jumping to that opportunity quick.
FMJ in the UK would produce huge numbers. Especially if Hatton is in tow. Using Ricky to boost FMJ's noteriety brings fans and money. Which could lead to a huge PPV buyout in the states. FMJ markets himself perfectly.
MistNin 2 years ago
i think jr, sr, and roger will commit suicide if they lose to pac. don't worry, i heard that FMJ will fight in UK first before fighting pacquioa. while pacquiao rest, FMJ wants another tuneup in UK before facing pacquiao.
aznvedz 2 years ago
MIstNin- You are correct we do agree Mosley is an all time great and at this very moment I think his legacy is a hell of a lot more secure than one FMJ.
I just hope Mosley looks good all the way through the fight b/c he has been inconsistent as of late. Also people are discounting how many clean jabs Margarito bounced Mosley's head back with which is quite alarming to me.
boxinginfo 2 years ago
@boxinginfo - I agree. SSM has fought great opponents: the late and great Vernon Forrest, Winky Wright, De La Hoya, et cetera. Easily HoF material, without a doubt.
I recall those jabs you are referring to. Margo did produce copious amounts of power behind those punches. I expected a replay of Winky-SSM in the Margo bout, however I was proved incorrect when I saw him get TKO'd. I didn't think Mosley could produce a solid volume of punches against Margo; atleast enough to TKO him.

i do agree with the whole 4/8 original weight class thing it is special. the catchweight was bull but watever no more catchweight bull from pac he can make 145 but the other can make 147lb limit.
the ring mag keep pulling this bullshit, but pac is the closest p4p their is.

good point islander , cotto was alot worse after the pac fight but nothing was said ... double standards maybe
kermie1976 2 years ago
they just dont like margarito why i dont know, cottos face always gets messed up
elchololo 2 years ago
elchololo- I'll tell you why. This is the real reason.
boxinginfo 2 years ago
dont worry tony will get that rematch now that cotto lost, there is really no other place to go for him
elchololo 2 years ago
i wish cotto gets a nice rest first. then give him a tuneup fight before the margo fight.
aznvedz 2 years ago
You have Margarito fan company, elchololo. They don't make many animals like him. I don't usually go for the brutes, but every once in a while someone like him comes along who takes more damage and keeps moving forward who just makes your jaw drop. Fuck HBO. What kind of bug do they have up their collective asses, and why? Okay, they humped Cotto, and are now embarrassed, so they have to justify their bare ass....but shit!
fairalways 2 years ago
fairalways- just read my explanation I gave elchololo about the way 2008 went down, believe me tens of milions of dollars went flushing down the drain when Mayweather snubbed Oscar and Margarito beat the living hell out of Cotto.

It's all so short sighted.

islander , again i think your review was spot on . i am neutral about fmj v pac , pacman is as quick as fmj and i think fmj is only back for the money . in my opinion pacman will put too much pressure on fmj and have too much power and also have a bit more discipline than hatton did and not get caught ..p.s , why do you call him " the liar "

Great insights as always Islander,
I disagree about the Kessler Ward fight, i see nothing in Ward that will trouble Kessler other than the 3 American judges and ref (which is totally in contradiction to the contract that Ward signed for the Super 6 but i digress.) Kessler shoud stop Ward or win a wide UD, Ward wasn't impressive against a limited Miranda who isn't even a gatekeeper.
hammerhiem75 2 years ago
stork..i remember what you said that MANNY PACQUAIO is the guy whom gayweather sr is telling about to his son gayweather jr.that this is the type of a fighter that you should run away..thats why floyd is talking tyo much excuses once again.
khykhijhing 2 years ago
Floyd is actually crafty and a bit more technical its not gonna be an easy fight for pacquiao but he can come through cause he can take floyd's punches for sure and he has to move smart more smarter than his cotto fight, he said he let cotto punch him so he can see if he can take it, if that's true then he has a bigger chance to win against the liar.
tmarbz 2 years ago
(part 2 Ihope that part 1 got uploded I don't see it)
I thing Mosley has the skills to posibly beat Mayweather but he dose not fight at his best every fight. even if he did he still might not be good enough to beat Mayweather. Williams because of his size and Pacquiao because of his speed have the best chances at beating Mayweather. I would pick Mayweather over both of them as well.
tfgrudin 2 years ago
Looks like my first part didn't get posted so basicly. I respect your opinion but I think you are wrong in regaurds to Mayweather. I don't think you can duck opoents who you would easly beat Cotto and Margrito. Also I don't know if Margrito's gloves were loaded or not vs. Mosley and Cotto but showing a photo of Zivic the man who wrote the book on cheating on boxing is not the best way to defend Margrito if that was your aim.
tfgrudin 2 years ago
Islander, I think you are going for Ward because of Kesslers Post Calzaghe fights. Im unsure about Kessler Ward, I favour Kessler skill wise just havent seen the pre Calzaghe Kessler in his recent fights, hopefully he can pull the old Kessler out of the bag, to make this tournament interesting.
Steeluv 2 years ago
A lot of the time boxers are fighting down to their opponents level. I don't think Mikkel is done psychologically at all. People were saying the same things about Calzaghe before the fight with Kessler!
sergelapelle 2 years ago
excellant points Islander, THE LIAR is at it again, hypocritally he said that Pacquiao wouldnt answer if he wanted to fight FMJ, however after FMJ's fight with Marquez, he couldnt say whether he was willing to fight Mosley or Pacquaio. Even if The LIAR beats Pacquaio I think Pacquiao still will be higher in the list of all time greats.
I think Pac Vs The Liar, the fight will be close and be decided on points, I think we wont have a good idea till at least the 6th round who is going to win.

bryanzkhi- Lets not jinx "The Living Legend" just remember what I said in the video, b/c its the sincerist thing I can say of Pacquiao and to his fans, "Slices of world titles in 4 of the original 8 weight classes" You have no idea how really important that is.

Good vid as always.
SpidaTrap 2 years ago
Yeah he hates them but he beats them comfortably.
danlfc1983 2 years ago
He does indeed, but the point is that they are no where near Pac in terms of punch power, speed, accuracy and footwork. Corley physically hurt FMJ and sent him across the ring with an unseen right. My question is how would FMJ react to a Pac punch or three?
FMJ is still the fav, but only just.
SpidaTrap 2 years ago 2
The only one you can really compare to Pac is Judah. Judah has fast hands and feet, and he has quite a dig on him too. Other then that Pac is a far superior fighter to any other southpaw Mayweather has faced, but Mayweather is a far superior fighter to anyone Pac has faced. It will be a very intriging fight. No one really hits Mayweather with 3 clean shots in a row, but if anyone can do that, its Pacquiao.
danlfc1983 2 years ago
Watch the sharmba fight, he gets 3 shots directly into Floyds face right at the end of the second. Pac is similar to Calzaghe in that he throws shots from all angles and is difficult to read.
I think that FMJ would feel Pacs power and run while pot shotting. Almost the way Cotto did in the latter part of his fight. It could end up being a boring one sided affair with FMJ winning a UD. However, I would be confident that Roach would have a plan for that.
SpidaTrap 2 years ago
Yeah I know I saw that fight, my question is, how often does Mayweather get caught with a 3 punch combo like that?
Glad you mentioned JC, do you ever miss his fights?
danlfc1983 2 years ago
Saw them all including a couple live. Shame he didn't make his impact in the US before he changed his punch technique to preserve his hands. Everyone now thinks he just slaps but when you watch the Mitchell KO or Sheika KO you see the power difference.
