VERY disappointed that Prospero is a woman now. This was my favorite Shakespearian play BECAUSE it had a strong father/daughter relationship in Prospero and Miranda. The mother/daughter relationship is very different from what Shakespeare's story really was. I don't care that it may be more appeasing to feminist critics-- oh well...

The movie was okay. My "modern" ear found the dialog over reaching and drawn out. Or, more to the point, boring. The costumes were so out of place, tank tops and zippers! Over all, this movie was a hodge podge of nonsense. Alice and Wonderland meets Matrix. Totally gay.

Omg, I studied this play extensively when I was twelve and completely fell in love with it. I've been getting a bit sick of the constant remakes and adaptations of the film industry the past few years with everything original being either rare or unpopular, but I think I'm actually really excited about this one. I hope Hollywood does a half-decent job of keeping to the original play a bit better than they did in Romeo and Juliet.
