  • IS NOT BAD ! i mean i watched n its rlly intersting, its cool! i imagine how awesome the book must be, some effects r kinda weird, HAHA U KNOW! but the story like a said its intersting!

  • Titus was great, so I'll watch this. But it looks like shit.

  • Anyone feel some similarity with Dune?

  • ass

  • Wtf are all these good actors doing in this piece of shit?

  • @thatsphreshish This piece of shit?? Its a shakespeare play you ignorant fool, the most famous writer in the history of the world!

  • @nickmotture I don't think he was knocking the play. In think he was know the movie

  • @nickmotture you dummy, it's called sarcasm, that's why he got thumbs-up. if you still don't get it. he really means, "what are all these no-bodies doing acting in a great famous play". now you agree.

  • what the

  • This looks horrible

  • You can say whatever u want about the actors, or directors, or producers, but you have to admit those special effects were kick ass.

  • Lol.. Alan Cumming...

and Russell Brand 8D And thato ne dude whos loopin on spykids >u<!

  • allthought i love most of these actors the production or the direstor must really suck!! :/

  • Ben Whishaw! ♥

  • it looks.....interesting.....i'll give it a try, but not buy it nor pay for it :)......

  • eww.

  • its looks shity

  • i wont be downloading this

  • I don't know if it's a comedy or not because it has Russel Brand in it...

  • its just...no.

  • Shakespeare already rolled in his grave because of Romeo and Juliet. If he's rolling in his grave for this one, he might at least end up facing the right way.

  • WHY?

  • to shit or not to shit (on this movie).

    that's the question

  • @chaidiamonds vvvvv..full of shit

  • OMG I JUST NOTICED RUSSELL BRAND LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @emeraldtyphoon Really? You JUST noticed the guy who was in most of the trailer?

  • I remember reading the book adaptation of this by Bruce Coville, illustrated by Ruth Sanderson when I was a kid at around the age of 11 or so.

I think I still have the copy under my bed after more than a decade of keeping it there.

  • i just saw it, and even though helen mirren is an excellent actress, compared to peter greenaway`s prospero`s books this is just ..like a school play

  • looks badass

  • This is like one of the most stupidest movie trailers I have ever, ever seen. Ever.

I'm not saiyng that the movie isn't good because I can't know that, but the trailer...

  • wtf?

  • i would like another prospero i think and different movie.

  • Looks like an amateur funny movie with some fancy computer effects.

  • Great passion, heart, creativity. . .but never a fan of her digital effects. . .

  • If you saw Romeo and Juliet with DeCaprio and Daines and loved it, you can thank Shakespeare for writing it.

  • I never read shakespear before...and when i see the poster of this movie i was expecting something like lord of the ring

the result is 110 minutes of epic sleep time

  • is it worth downloading ?? -_-

  • очень хочется посмотреть этот фильм!

  • What was that song and the ending of the trailer?

  • @ichiquiorra4 sigur ros - saeglopur

  • Helen Mirren as Prospero? This I gotta see.

  • @PrincipessaDellOpera She's really good in this, to be quite honest the trailer really doesn't do the movie justice at all.

  • This movie looks naaaasty D:!! I WANNA SEE IT

  • crappy effects dammit

  • What's the song that plays near the end?

  • @SwingGirlAtHeart

its sigur ros amazing band check em out

  • Russel Brand?! Really?!

  • Russell Brand...

  • I watched this and walked out at the 1/3 mark. I only stayed a little longer when Dr. Octavius came out drunk.

  • So incoherent. I probably would enjoy the movie if the direction was better and not staged.

  • WTF, sums it up well. Entire things is incoherent, its just smashing well known line together thinking the audience will be happy.

  • looks lika a bad porn film :/

  • WTF?!? i do not understand this trailer at all.

  • utter crap.

  • 2:15 MILKMAN!!!!

  • when the fuck does, or did, this move come out? ive never heard of the movie. Act 3, scene 2, bitch!

  • The Sigur Ros song does not fit this movie. And this movie looks really bad.

  • I'm reading this book in my class now. really hard reading is kinda confusing. 7th grade and i don't understand the wording and i kind of wish they would make a kind reworked version making it easier :p

  • @jm021202

Shakespeare is not meant to be read. He would have hated to learn that you have to read it in class. All of Shakespeare's works are meant to be performed. I used to hate Shakespeare, even as a freshman Theatre major, but when I actually saw one put on stage it made so much more sense.

  • the director of the film needs more work staff =P

  • Prospero is a bitch... what the fuck

  • @balmoral12 and of course Caliban is the black guy. It would appear it is making us MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.

  • my head hurts

  • reeve carney.. :)

  • Sigur Rós :)

  • This back and forth about the appropriateness of a female Prospero seems to completely ignore the fact that there is a long standing theatrical tradition of adapting roles across gender. Female Hamlets, for example, have actually been relatively common -- and many of them performed very successfully. We may as well start dismissing Kurosawa's Ran on grounds of textual infidelity.

Frankly, protestations against the perceived PC-ness of the movie miss the point in way that is that is as underedu

  • mmm shakespeare...drug addled imagery...maybe ill go see this if i get forced into a blind date...i plan on being pretty high.

  • I don't get why your all so mad Prospero is now a woman. Helen Mirren is an amazing actor and she adds a lot to the film.

  • Sigur Rós is the best part about this.

  • Meanwhile, Shakespeare rolls in his grave.

  • @Zorak720 He's not just rolling, he's doing somersaults.

  • @Zorak720 why?

  • I hope this doesn't come out. XD

  • VERY disappointed that Prospero is a woman now. This was my favorite Shakespearian play BECAUSE it had a strong father/daughter relationship in Prospero and Miranda. The mother/daughter relationship is very different from what Shakespeare's story really was. I don't care that it may be more appeasing to feminist critics-- oh well...

  • Will this be released in the UK?

  • @Kingdomhearts120 Amazon.com says September 2011

  • can someone please tell me when this is out ??

  • I can't find the movie anywhere. Can someone tell me where I can watch it?

  • THIS right here is why i love taymor!!

  • great cast!

  • thought prospero was a man

  • there's a lot going on in this trailer.

  • Soooo.... Prospero is a woman now?

  • @atrinhproductions yep, why not?

  • Psychedelic..?

  • I love everything about this, the effects are suberb but the acting looks bland and cheessy!

  • Rejsen til Melonia <3

  • outstanding actors but... boring movie.

  • i'm thinking it's going to be an incredibly annoying film if they talk the way Shakespeare wrote. but it looks brill:D

  • @Kaecee8

    how dare you?

  • I dare thee.

  • the song at the end was Saeglopur by Sigur Ros!

    lovelovelove♥

  • The movie was okay. My "modern" ear found the dialog over reaching and drawn out. Or, more to the point, boring. The costumes were so out of place, tank tops and zippers! Over all, this movie was a hodge podge of nonsense. Alice and Wonderland meets Matrix. Totally gay.

  • @sebastian0217

    your a douche

  • And people say Shakespeare is boring. xD

This one had me at finding out it has the same director as Titus. Definately going to check it out.

  • you would have to be on drugs to follow this movieeeeeeeee

  • LOVED IT TO THE MAX!

  • This looks incredible!

  • @GRJones92hk every trailer makes the movie look good, don't be fooled by the glitz and glam!

  • Omg, I studied this play extensively when I was twelve and completely fell in love with it. I've been getting a bit sick of the constant remakes and adaptations of the film industry the past few years with everything original being either rare or unpopular, but I think I'm actually really excited about this one. I hope Hollywood does a half-decent job of keeping to the original play a bit better than they did in Romeo and Juliet.

  • @NekoBeau who studies "extensively" when there 12? lol. I On my way to see the Tempest now..... have u seen it yet?

  • @sebastian0217 lol I just mean that's all we studied for like a year. Lol.

  • Shakespeare is orgasming in his grave

  • the black guy is cover in dirt lmao Hollywood

  • wow...looks really kooky...

  • WTF... "Prospera"..?

  • totally watching this stoney bologna

  • The song at the end is definitely the song 'Saeglopur' by Sigur Ros found on their album Takk.

  • Look at those fucking hipsters.

  • boy do i love joel shakespear

  • Thowt hast heard that thee movie is awful just awful.

  • FOR ALL WHO ARE WONDERING: It seems people are only answering what the song at the END of the trailer is. However, the song that starts at 0:17 is 'Hell is Empty' off of the Tempest Soundtrack, and the one that starts when you see Russell Brand is 'High Day Two-Step', also off of the Tempest Soundtrack

  • Shakespeare? No thanks. Ugh. Looks like second-rate Terry Gilliam outtakes.

  • this looks so fucking random...lol

  • Nazi zombie dogs? XD

  • @archedperson

    Fuck you FIDO!!!

  • @DerangedWacko FETCH ME THEIR SOULS!!!

  • I'd like watching this. But it would be kind of silly to watch it in german dub. I wonder if they make an exception and show this in english around here.

  • @Yora21 even if not at least we can watch it on dvd/bluray in original sound. :) I'll surely do it.

  • WTF did i just watch O_o

  • oh gosh get over it. Shakespeare is dead and doesn't care. boohoo.

  • Comment removed

  • ……. My husband & I were just WONDERING when the directrix extraordinaire, Julie Taymor, was gonna come out with her newest gem … Thank you for posting this, heyuguysblog, thank you! ~ (•8-D

  • WHOA. WHOA. !!

  • Sperm cells swimming in space at 2:24 ?

I am still not sure wtf this movie is about but because it's Julie Taymor's film with russell brand, alfred molina, helen mirren, and other great actors, I'll see it anyway.

  • @evm2007 WTF is it about?? ITS THE TEMPEST!!! ITS SHAKESPEARE!!! READ A BOOK LOSER!

  • @jboydance LOL... chill out

  • @jboydance It's a play.

  • @evm2007 lol that level of ignorance is cringe-worthy. seriously, You should be embarrassed.

  • does it say anywhere that helen mirren is in fact, acting as a female in this role? maybe she is acting like a man - because it is called 'acting' after all. it may be a tongue and cheek reference to when females weren't allowed on stage at all, & to have such a strong female actress carry this role, we should all be happy. and for those who have their panties in a twist about it HAVING to be a man, maybe you're missing a key point of Shakespeare's works - he was quite fond of gender bending!

  • @thatdaythemusicdied1 Julie Taymor switched it up a bit, and changed it from the sorcerer Prospero, to the sorceress Prospera. No gender bending, just bad directing and casting.

  • ok...I have to agree that Prospero should be a man...I have nothing against women and I know that there are adaptations all the time but I think that they should have stayed true to the play and shakespeare's vision...but this still looks amazing..Prospero is Miranda's father.not her mother...and besides men were mostly ceremonial magician's and alchemists back in those days..

  • I don't understand why it matters that Prospero is a female in this rendition of the play.

What people must understand is that there's a difference between stage performances, written works, and movies. Things are often changed in transition, as angry book fans watching a novel play out on a screen will happily tell you.

No doubt the producers thought that having Helen play the part would add something extra to the story that would have been absent had a male portrayed the role. And it's sim

  • Prospero (Hellen Mirren) is Mirandas FATHER. Soooooo.... Shouldn't Helen Mirren be somewhere else, considering she is a FEMALE? Way to ruin a work of art,

  • omg what?!? this is going to be brilliant. positively brilliant

  • I HAVE MADE YOU MAAAAAAAAAAAD

  • it looks like this has way to many special effects! its shakespeare people it doesn't need all of that glitz and glam...

  • .....the witch is a man..... i hate it when they do this and change key parts.... this is shakespeare not twilight this has depth to it why are they changing this?

  • My goodness, is this for real? And with Sigur Rós? *o*

  • whats the song at the very end?

  • looks lame

  • russell was running like a little bitch lmfao!!!!!!!! rotflmfao~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hshaahhaahah

  • WTF???????????????????????

  • Had seen the trailer, was going over some trivia of a song, and whoop dee doo, I end up seeing this again. Interesting trailer! Am liking the part with Sæglópur playing to most though :3

  • Search for "Resan till Melonia" and compare it to this. Same play but worlds apart.

  • LOOKS AWFUL!!!

  • looks really, really good!

  • will there be subtitles for those who don't speak Shakespearean ? LOL

  • @VenusAsABoyFilms I can imagine the characters speaking some deep old English type language but the subtitles will be like "bitch got owned n00b..hahaha"

  • @theunraveler That'd be REALLY funny! I'd see this film if it had funny subtitiles like that!

  • Sigur Ros <333

  • @lephong, well I read that in the movie, Prospero died and that lady will be his wife Prospera who was accused of killing her husband using her crafts. I read the book before and i reallly like it. The movie has a good twist but I really would like to see Prospero as Prospero in the movie, lol. Sorry I'm just into Shakespeares.:-)

  • Why the hell that theymade Prospero as a girl? Damn it!!! I hate it. But movie looks good.!!!

  • @obieice190 it doesn't really make much difference to the story in the long run.

  • Why the hell that theymade Prospero as a girl? Damn it!!! I hate it. But movie looks good.

  • Taymor's Titus (also with Alan Cumming) was incredible and this looks awesome. Can't stand Russell Brand, but I'll try to ignore him and enjoy the rest.

  • @Aeschylus

He actually looks pretty impressive in this. Taymor knows what she's doing :)

Though I wish she'd work with Angus Macfadyen again...

  • Looks like it was shot incredibly good. I'll check it out for the beautiful cinematogrohy.

Oh what Sugor Rios song was used at the end?

  • @InTheEnd75 It's Saeglopur by Sigur Rós.

  • Looks like it was shot incredibly good. I'll check it out for the beautiful cinematogrohy

  • mmmmmmmm the effects doesnt look very good = (

  • I like Fucking Weird Dreamy/nightmare stuff, Shakespeare's Hamlet is Kind Freaky too. Story & Adaptations, I love the RSC Hamlet 2009.

This will be cool & Weird.

  • julie taymor isone of the best creators of our generation

watch Titus, then you'll see why she is underestimated.

  • lol sigur ros playing at the end

  • @ClockKing No, It's freaking awesome

  • Greetings Ms. Cobern

  • Looks like one of those good actors, bad movie deals to me :/
