i am trying to become an "american fan"...u know, i'm the type that hopes one day that american's can appreciate what they have instead of taking what those overseas have to offer..it's hard though... but this car has given me hope! it's street presance is glorious!!! it's really a hott car, and compared to the M5, it outperforms!

These cars are so hyped and "pushed" on the public. What good is all the horsepower if you won't be able to use it. The speed limit is still 65 and 75 on most roads. All you're doing is wasting something we're all complaining about......GAS!
the more external components you have mounted on a engine will take from its reliabilty and puts more wear and tear on the motor...this car is alreay playing catch up with many other cars like the m5,audi rs5,and the E55 AMG...YOU CANT MAKE A CAR AS EQUAL TO RIVAL THESE CARS YOU MUST REINVENT THE MACHINE TO TAKE THE GERMANS' LIGHT AWAY TOTALLY.Its my humble opinion the GM must go back to the drawing board.!
Actaully if you goto CTowners dot com and click on "CTS Photo and Video Gallery" and then click on "2009 CTS-V spotted in the real world," this car looks HOTTT. At first, I was really Disappointed with the media coverage but when I saw these images, I was amazed. CTS-V is in different color here. I would take this car over any European rivals anytime. I think i'm in LOVE.
i think when people see hp and specs they have no real idea on how to measure a cars creativity...when someone can male 1-5-120 hp per litr without superchargers, turbos etc thats outstanding. When the integrety of the car supercedes its projected reliablity. And its overall performance has to be measured not in straight lines but unorthodox terrain.
i am all for Cadillac building huge powerful V8's for the CTS-V.But my question is,"what will the XLR/STS-V get now that Cadillac has once again raised the bar?" hopefully the XLR,and STS will get 600bhp North* V8s.
The XLR just doesnt sell. Anyone who wants a two door sports car from GM goes and buys a Corvette. Sorry, but it is the truth. I love the Cadillac XLR, the hard top convertible just makes sense but it doesnt sell as well as the Corvette.
true, but what about the Blown NorthStar? I heard that Cadillac just recently killed the Ultra V8 (NorthStar replacement).I guess the XLR-V,and STS-V should get the 6.2L engine detuned to 575bhp.
Not everyone. The Corvette is a great car but they're everywhere. It doesn't impress people in the street regardless of age, color or whoever is driving it. The XLR is a totally different story. Is more prestige and refine. The perfect roadster for the discriminated buyer who want to be the center of attention. Specially at the tune of $81,000. not many people will be able to get it. It's very unlikely to see another (XLR) on the road. muchless in your neighborhood. And I personally like that.
GM really surprised everyone with this one. Naturally everyone, including myself, thought the upcoming CTS-V was going to get the ZO6s 505HP 7.0L V8, but instead GM puts in the 6.2L supercharged making 550HP, surprise.
From what i've heared the v is going to be around 60K, its well worth it. I had a 04 V and ended up selling it to get an m3 convertible...man that was a mistake...The bimmer handles a little better..but the V is crazy fast and it so much more exciting to drive and to me the m3 is kinda cheaply made inside..didn't even come with heated seats for 54K new.
It is a mistake. Its actually 556 hp. Not 550

The Cadillac CTS-V is American Luxury Performance. It ranks among the top five High Performance Sport Coupes in the Market Today.
