No idea; I don't own the soundtrack on a hard disc yet. Not sure if that would even be included in the soundtrack, since it was technically recorded on the set, not in a studio.
Marvellous music. I hope that the John Williams soundtrack for a similar remarkable movie coming out in 2012, "Red Tails" will reminiscence the majestic work that Fenton did here. Always liked the film, great characters and great filming techniques used to portray the horrors of aerial combat.
My grandpa knew these brave men that flew the belle, he and his crew were pals with them, until on my grandpa's 15th mission, he and his crew went down over Europe and were never seen again :(
They were part of the 8th Air Force, which was nicknamed "The Bloody 8th" because they lost so many crew members during the war. Thanks to their bravery and sacrifice during this war, we now have a free country away from tyranny and oppression.
Does anyone out there know of a Black Tuskegee Airman who was shot down and captured and then rescued by the under ground in this same area Delft Holland around 43 or early 44
This song, I dedicate to my late Cousin, Justin James Cupples, who, though not an aviator, was KIA in AFGHANISTAN, while serving QUEEN & COUNTRY, in the 1 ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT, a little over 2 years ago, HELMAND PROVINCE. May he and his fellow soldiers R.I.P. Miss you Justin .
also meet capt morgan at an airshow just a short while before his death. didnt realize after his tour of duty in europe he also saw action in the pacific
This is great music! I listen to it before running at track meets, it always gets me pumped up. It works, I havent lost! I'm 16 and have loved this movie since I can remember, I'd give anything to be able to be on the Belle
I met Captain Robert Morgan, the real Belle's pilot at an Airshow in 1996 about a year before he passed away. One of the things he talked about was that the 1989 move was much more true then the 1943 film made for war bond drives here, The Belle's 24th Mission was shown in the 43 film because it was a German Target, thier real 25th was to the coast of France and a "Milk Run" target with escorts from the Royal Air Force. He was proud of his service and of his crew's skill in the air. R.I.P.
@doronpainter From what I've heard the movie is a bit like Das Boot - all the interesting and dramatic things that happened on several different missions to different crews, all composited into one story.
my grand father flew b-17 g's but im not sure if he flew a mission he got in pretty late. but i guese its a good thing or else i might not be here. also thank you very much for posting.
What part of Holland did your parents live in during world war 2? my grandmother lived near Delft, and a similar story was told from her. though I think one of her parents took the boots off of a fallen pilot.
Nope, "The Lucky Lady" crashed in a small village in North-Holland, so nowhere near Delft. Interresting though, that your grandmother had a similar story!
If you have more details, I can try and find out more about this plane and it's crew
@Rhuadhan1 I just asked my grandmother about the downed plane she saw. And she said she saw it when they were on their way to Amsterdam when her mother, 2 sisters and she, made their long journey up to Frysland where her relatives (on her father's side) lived. She doesn't remember the name of the plane that crashed unfortunately.
@Rhuadhan1 wow thats amazing! I want to be like them. But i will be a flyGIRL! my life will be awesome. i live near a naval base, so I cant count how many P3 Orion's i see in 1 day. thanks for the video!
i watched it millions of times. for like 5 years i watched it at least once a day. no joke. i had it on vhs. and now dvd :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D OMG haha

I've seen this movie so many times!!!
During the war, my parents saw these
B17's by the hundreds in the sky over their little Dutch village on their way to Germany and it gave them hope!
A Fortress nearly cashed on my parents farm on it's way back from Germany; all
were lost except for one of the pilots; he made it back States side in the end.
To all the Flyboys and their crews: Thank's to you guys I grew up in a free country!
