If a construction worker makes a crappy building and it falls apart and people die, would it make sense for them to look at you and say "well......let's see YOU make a building!" Like when they were in the tiny plane surrounded by hot smoke that would have for sure killed them! But we all know 2012 isn't going to mark the end. It's been scientifically proven to be false.
I agree with your friend. 2012 was flippin' amazing! I usually agree with you Blake, but this movie was amazing! Breathtaking action, incredible effects, not one dull moment. I LOVED THIS MOVIE! 10/5

Totally disagree with you and totally agree with your friend Alex. You didn't get with the spirit of the movie. Yes it was cheesy and stuck with the basic disaster film formula, but you could tell Roland Emmerich knew that and just went for it! 2012 is the ultimate, best ever, super cheesy, über disaster movie! No, it isn't going to win best picture and it was a little long, but it was really fun and enjoyable. I haven't had that good a time at the movies in quite a while. I gave it an 8!

It would be poor quality filmmaking/writing if they set out to write a serious drama, but they didn't. They wrote the ultimate fun disaster movie & for the most part succeeded. You said it wasn't dark enough, but if it had been then I would be a totally different film. So dark isn't in "the spirit", see?
So it wasn't inappropriate humor, you were meant to laugh. To me it was well done, I'm not trying to say I you're right and I'm wrong, just that in my opinion it was a pretty fun film. For a dark end of the world film we have "The Road" coming up.

The best scene in the whole flick imo, was when Yellowstone errupted and Woody Harrelson's character watched and embraced it eagerly.
I wish your friend came back to do a Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen review because I'm hearing that 2012 is a movie that you need to shut off your brain for a while and just enjoy the action. Should I see it? I can't shut off my brain when I watch a movie, I MUST critique it as it goes along.
I agree with your friend haha. It was enjoyable despite a lot of flaws. It was very entertaining. Make sure you get your friend in another review. I like his attitude.
