I had the settings maxed out. I also have an alternate sun mod running made by Jon Hillenbrand. It's awesome. :) Can't remember the circuit. I haven't played GTR2 in a year at least.
Yes, it's my lens flare mod. You should have SOME lens flare that came with the game. I've just modified the stock lens flare to look more realistic (like it does in photos).
Your video card has a lot to do with it, as does time of day, as does the quality of the car and track. This track is my favorite because to me it looks the most real, especially during golden hour.

Oh, I also replaced the sun lens flare with a different one that I designed. Looks a lot more real to me than the old spikes.

It's just the video. I had a sound environment turned on when I recorded the vid by accident. There's no tunnel sound.

Mclaren don't make engines, they never have. They did however design and build the chassis in its entirety.
