  • Aim high... ha. put on that wig on and try to do sales pitch... maybe then I will buy..

  • Is it funny poetry, wait, I guess I have to purchase to find out. Doooo.

  • Mix of funny and more serious stuff.

  • Hi. Thank you for sending a signed copy of your poetry. I loved it. 'Another Cup Of Coffee' tickled me. Thanks again. :)

  • Thanks! Glad it arrived.

  • Thank you! Hope you enjoy it.

  • Yes maybe more wig ones soon.

  • Thanks.

  • That's awesome, Elise! Congrats! It's a POD thing, right? I'm familiar with Lulu as I got something there before. I'm just gonna try and get some cash into my Paypal and you can be sure I'll get a copy at some point. :D Congrats again!

  • Yeah - I think Budgie Barnes got his book of short stories published through there and several other people I know and respect have started getting stuff POD so it looks as though it's fairly respectable now! It's also a pretty good deal for creators, I think.

  • You're a lovely girl and I am very happy for you!!!! I will also be on the look out for Little Circus!!!

  • Thanks! I think it will be a while before it appears on Amazon etc mind - a few weeks probably.

  • awesome! well done!

  • you are as mad as a bag of cats

    well done :o)

  • It will be a few weeks before it is in their system - it only just went into the approval phase!

  • I had quite a few published in magazines a while ago and did a lot of performance poetry but it's gone a bit quiet of late (too many other things distracting me!)

  • Published? Yay!!!! Congratulations!!!

  • So, you're like the Pam Ayres of Peckham.

Oh wait - you're not in Peckham any more are you?

    Oh, well. ;-)

  • Cool! I think the PDF version should work on most ebook reader type things.

  • Congratulations and well done!! Any possibility of posting a vid of you reading just one poem from the book as a taster for those considering purchasing-you know, just like you would flick through/read a page or two of a book in a book store before committing to buying? Go on!

  • Yes perhaps - this one was a bit on the fly! The videos I have put as responses are all based on poems in the collection, mind!

  • Perhaps giving taster videos might not be such a good idea if your responses are based upon poems in the book. Otherwise, we won't have to buy the book in the first place!

  • Well, maybe - but there are 46 poems in the book (55 pages).

  • Cool you write peoms to I would love to but a book. ^________^

  • ★★★★★

  • Cool. I sold about 60 of my first book but the Lulu option is great! working on some new books now.

  • It is, isn't it! I probably would not use it for longer fiction but for something like poetry that never sells well anyway it is ideal!

  • ''dear sir or madam''...(will you read my book?) ''It took me years to write''....(will you take a look?)

  • I do seem to do a lot of things that reflect songs of the Beatles!

  • WOAW CONGRATULATIONS Elise HARRIS!

    I want it.

thats something to be very proud of.

I will buy it asap! which might be a little while.

    whooop!

  • Well hopefully it will be on Amazon etc soon! I really don't know what the position is about ordering in bookshops but it has an ISBN so I assume it's the same as with other books if you give them that.

  • Well as long as you don't come off as desperate... ;-)

Is it available at a US retailer on line?

  • It should be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble (and a few other places) eventually - but it's only just started going through the approval process so it's not there yet. Maybe I will do an update when it is.

  • I'm poor so... I can't bite :(

  • Oh no! Well the download version is only £4, but if that's still too much I understand!

  • I'm really poor :(

  • WOW - Brilliant, Elise! I'm so proud of you! You'll have to do a reading of one of them on YouTube. Can I buy a copy directly from you and have it signed by the Poetess? I have a Paypal account.

  • Yes you can, depending on where you live (I am not sure what post and packing will be on top of the £7.99). I am sending a few review copies in the next few days so I should know then how much that costs. It will also take about a week for me to get the copies (and I have to pay postage on top of that) so I have not really worked out how much I should charge for buying directly from me!

  • Guerrilla marketing! I love it!

  • Oh, and congrats!

  • Thank you!

  • Can I buy your shoe? If I buy your book, can I get your shoe as a bonus? Maybe entered into a raffle to get your shoe?

The Great Shoe Giveaway. Well, why not, some women sell their panties.

  • I have written a poetry anthology too. Mine is called: "Giraffes in my hair", (taken from a line in a Marc Bolan song), but I doubt that mine will ever be published!!!

  • You should send poems to magazines, see if they get picked up (though they are normally quarterly magazines so you wait an age for responses and then even longer for the poems to appear!)

  • its youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!! i should print all my past lovenotes to girls..my funny poetry when i failed tro get them! LOL

  • congrats on your book, lulz, you're so enthused and that's the attitude that both, got the book published and will make me buy it, if i can find it

  • Well it should be on Amazon eventually - maybe I will update when that happens.

  • When I get paid, i'll TRY to buy one :) promise xx

    <3 Congrats

  • Good luck with your sales! Coincidentally my next planned video is also a book promo! LOL

  • I look forward to that!

  • Congrats to Elise -

There's nothing quite like seeing your writing in print. I'll look for Little Circus on Adlibris, since they're usually well-stocked.

    Well done !

  • I think it's too soon to see it anywhere (I only just got the proof) - but it should be on Amazon and other places eventually.

  • Okay -

Adlibris is a Scandinavian net-bookshop I've turned to whenever I've looked for a book - since about 2001 or so. Don't think we have Amazon in Scandinavia, I'm sad to say.

I read your comment about sending poems to magazines, by the way; well, the best thing is to send it, and forget about it.

    Because it takes time.

A lot of people wants to be published, so...

  • Ah - well I know it should eventually be available on some net outlets so maybe there too, not sure! I sent so many to magazines and it took ages for any of them to get published! I think I got about a dozen published various places eventually but it was very labour-intensive.

  • I am going to buy one when I get paid!

  • Talk her into publishing her "Breathless" one too! I'm waiting for my check to "clear" and I can withdraw and pump some into an electronic account!

Vote for her at Noostar, too-- that's free!

  • A lot of the poems in Breathless are in this one too (not all but many). That's out of print now. The new one book has a lot more of course.

  • Thanks!

  • I hope its not the last book of yours I buy!

  • That's very kind of you to say!

  • Congrats...i´m gonna see if it´s available in the bookstore here in sweden ;)

  • It won't be there yet, but I think it can be ordered with the ISBN number. I am not sure of the costs for international publishing and distribution, mind.

  • Ok then i´ll just wait abit and see what happens and if it is gonna be available i will buy it ;)

  • im defanetly going to bye this your poetry is good

by the way did you check out the piano lessons on lypurs channel

  • Yes, thanks - hopefully it will help! And thanks for the compliment too!

  • Well alright, but only because it could turn out to be an $investment$ like Poe's little Tamerlane ;-)

  • Gongratulations Elise! Hope it will sell well! : )

  • Thank you!

  • Congratulations!

I hope to someday do the same

  • blimey! "aim high" more like "i am high" settle down now :)

  • I am usually like this - hadn't you noticed?

  • no,i usually watch your videos for there calming nature ;)

  • Heheh.

  • Drive away the clouds,

    And melancholy,

    Watch Elise,

    And sometimes Ollie.

Congrats on getting your poems published.

  • Thanks for the poem!

  • Ok, OK, I'll buy your book of poetry - which will be the first time I've bought poetry.

Actually, no, I think 15 years ago I bought a booklet of poetry from a very hungry-looking young guy who was begging outside a metro station. The thing was photocopied and stapled together. I must have it somewhere - I wonder if he's since become famous?

  • Thanks! I wonder if that other guy did get famous (it's a hard thing to do with poetry, mind!)

  • That would make a cool video Mr Ape65. Recite that poetry if you can find that chapbook.

I look forward to your home renovation video.

  • The peotry was in French - I'll have to unpack all my stuff to (hopefully) find it.

I'll try to edit and upload my remaining renovations videos once I've finished all the cleaning and unpacking. I still have to make a final video showing the finished job.

  • Congratulations on getting published!
