Guys. The taser is a piece of equipment that like everything on the officers belt that can fail. The taser is only effective under 21 feet which means u gotta get close and it still has to achieve good contact to be effective. Would the probes penetrate his jacket??? Don't know. I'm sure they thought about it. So I think they did what they could to keep the preservation of life.

1) Tazer prongs aren't that accurate until you get close range which will escalate the situation if you start closing in on him.

Do you want to be the cop who fires the tazer long range and catches him in the eye and gets fired?

2) Do you really think those little needles are going to penetrate the layers of clothes and coat he has on anyway? Assuming it even hits him.

Shoot him with the tazer and have it do nothing and he will really think hes possessed then.

As long as the the prongs stuck into the jacke then the circuit will connect and it will have the same effect. But if the jacket moves around then it would be on and off. I would not be happy about a tazer prong in my eye, but the cops are usually good enough not to aim for the head with a tazer. That would be a youtube video to watch.
