you should try out the Xbox 360 Indie game Decimation X3, it's basically this, a Space Invaders game with lots of crazy power ups. It's a lot of fun... and only a dollar (80 MS points)

I remember back in the day when I was a small boychild and had to save money for months to get a new Sega Cartidge. Games like this were absolutely out of the question. Notthat it's bad but.... you know. It's THE GENESIS, why would I buy Space fucking Invaders when there's games like Streets Of Rage II and Shinobi III and.... fuck, I even bought the Genesis version of Dune, I didn't have a PC back then. It was pretty awesome. Also I already had Space Invaders for my old Atari.

The music for this game is HORRIBLE, even by 1991 standards. I think it was marketed more for China and Japan hence the crappy Japanese Animae music.

Do you think that this is an idea for the later 1999-1998 Space Invaders for the PS1 release? It seems to use a lot of the same elements and powerups as that version. For a 1991 game though this is surprisingly fast. Wish they would port more of stuff like this to the 360 sometimes.

Darn! I saw a copy of SPACE INVADERS 91 complete at my retro game store. I passed up on it thinking it was the same as on of the versions on my TAITO LEGENDS disc on PS2. But this looks totally original! Should have snatched it up!

Now this version looks awesome. I just purchased a copy of this game online not realizing how good this version would be. It actually looks like a really good version of Space Invaders. It looks like there is alot of variation in terms of the stages.

ahhhh. memories! this and batman were the two first japanese imports that i bought for my genesis. back when i bought this it wa called SPACE INVADERS 1990. :) i was so happy after learning how easy it was to mod the gen to play import carts. just snip the tabs off the cartridge slot and you're good to go!

Nothing beats Space Invaders extreme... Space Invaders evolution WAS HORRIBLE. It failed completely with the ''music thing''.. While the extreme had that too, but in different way. Firing a missile was a sound from synthesizer, so when you shot, it sounded like a synth melody.

When I was in the Navy in '91. There was this guy in the barracks who had all the best video games. We'd hang out in his room alot. One time I went in his room and someone whispered to me "He's playing the *New Space Invaders" ...we were like, in awe. NHL HOCKEY '91 was the best tho. Thanks for uploading.

This game was ported to the N64, and upgraded. I have the arcade classic on the PS2. Tatio Collection 2 is great. All arcade compilations on the PS2 rock. Now only if these companies make some arcade compilations for the PS3.
