Forcing banks which did not need bailout money to take bailout money is government control, giving the president the ability to control these banks that were already functioning well, because "they took bailout money."

The great crisis in this country is not the healthcare industry which by the way there is no example of a country that has successfully implemented government run healthcare successfully. The crisis is Social Security with $46 trillion un unfunded obligations. Address that!

i think a good read would be milton friedman on the depression. his stance was that the depression was an effect of a failure of the newly created central banks to DO ENOUGH to prevent bank failures. this is the arch conservative behind the free markets movement.

Thank you for your comment. If you read my original comment again, it was not about Obama being a socialist. It was about me being a bigot or a jihaist as your panel so frankly put it for criticizing a president that happens to be black.

Bailing out wallstreet then controlling the salaries, bonus and expenditures, is government control. Taking over GM, subordinating the bond holders for the benefit of the union, firing the CEO, determining what cars will be built. That is all socialist.

Are you going to claim that his support of wall street is something a socialist would do? Given that socialism would have the people own the means of production?

The government gave money to the companies, on the pretense that those accepting the money will change. This is similar to when a private citizen invests in a company and gets a minute bit of control over the company's direction.
