  • what ever that was, that was not bouillabaisse. you cant make bouillabaisse in an hour. chef ramsay would throw his japanese butt out the window

  • Shark fin and crab meat in a lobster challenge? To have so many different types of seafood in the dishes seems to take away from the point of the challenge, namely to focus on the singular ingredient, the giant lobster.

  • i learned a lot of different dishes fromt his show... Some of them came out very good. Some, I could tell i was missing a few things that I did not see them use. I really miss this show...

  • lobster fried rice... MAN that sounds good..

  • *drools*

  • jkdsuioijhgfde4ijhg....sorry i'm wiping the drool off my keyboard

  • lobster brain never sounded so appetizing =)

  • that Japanese woman seems to be surprised at every statement of people say...Ohhh..ohhh ....I hate it

  • @KatiushaVN4 they do it with pretty much every female too. gets old real fast.

  • @KatiushaVN4 ya she just there for the free food

  • At 3:13 = Puke Oatmeal

  • the rest of shark meat should be prepared in Kamaboko, minced and steamed fish.

  • cutting off the fins and then discarding the shark is really fucked up

  • @LordNelson87 the shark isn't usually thrown away. The meat unfortunately except the fins are full of a deadly toxin which will makes it unfit for human consumption. Certain countries like finland basically bury the shark or hang them and literally let them rot until the meat secretes all the poison out. The meat is then consumed in soups.

  • @MaintainedInsanity gross, and awesome

  • @MaintainedInsanity Correct. The meat is full of Ciguatoxin and Carchatoxin (A and B). Ciguatoxin can also be found in other predatory fish that have the E coli in it (Ciguatoxin producing E coli) such as Barraccuda. (Mostly predatory tropical fish.)

  • @TonyTriggers Thanks for the more detailed back up, I didn't even know that haha

  • @TonyTriggers Lol you say Predatory Like it Makes You Sound Smart. Its Annoying

  • Iron chef is back with new episode

  • wow these guys are amazing. 5 dishes in 1 hour

  • I love Ohta, but I'd have killed him after the billionth time he calls "Fukui-san!!"

  • @mokshalovely You'd wait for someone to call your name a billion times before killing them? Geez you sure are patient.

  • @LeadLead point taken :) I'm a very patient person though, haha. But not quite that patient!

  • anyone else think that the challenger looks like a japanese justin timberlake?

  • I think the challenger could have made a Lobster salad... salad in lite mayo with some fresh cubes of fruit.

  • @christpunchers the chef's style is hongkong.. why would he wants to use mayo?

  • @Apocalypss In many restaurants in Hong Kong, mid tier or higher level of restaurants that have the capacity to server banquets, you will find many dishes served with diced fruits in combination with mayo. So the use of mayonnaise in Hong Kong cooking is not that uncommon. One example of such dish would be a crab claw wrapped in minced shrimp/lobster/crab paste; it's usually served with a sweet mayo or an orange sauce on the side.

  • I'm not looking foreward to the future...where our grandkids will be laughing at us for having micro-wave emitters around in our house, the same way that we were in disbelief that our grandparents covered their oil in baking skin...to help tanning, and cancer, so it seems...

  • @xnightreaperx wait...**covered their sking in oil when they went and did sun bathing...wait even that doesnt sound right = =

  • @xnightreaperx You're right, our grandkids would be laughing at us for having microwaves because whatever THEY will be using to cook food will be far more advanced. ^_^

  • go big fella

  • I MISS THIS FUCKIN SHOW!!!!!!!!

  • @Kinghercules we all do =(

  • Quee san

  • omg. . .that sweet & sour lobster looked delicious. . .I'd drop $400 for that.

  • Seriously. . . Grow up and learn to type.

  • @BlueFox284 better off with a maine lobster for the same price, you get mor than just tail, and it tastes way better than that rock lobster

  • You're pathetic. Go microwave some more Kraft Dinner, faggot.

  • @d3m0nm0nk3y877 then you dont know what REAL food is

  • lol every three seconds, "FUKAI-SAN!"

  • GO!!!!

  • am i the only one who thinks the shark fin soup is a presentation fail? but i soooo wanna try the sweet n sour lobster.

  • I hate to break it to you, but most of the Iron Chefs still own their own restaurants. These battles were in a special format. You're making the rather idiotic assumption that it's the only method of cooking they know.

  • OOOOOOOH! You sound JEALOUS!

  • oh man....I so want to be a judge in this battle..I adore Lobster! -drools-

  • You know it. Man, I am really getting into the food videos.

  • I eat shark fins soup, and lobster. If I were in that studio with them cooking, I would snatch and grab the lobster. I would probably get my arse kicked, but lobster, man I love lobster!

  • Sharks are overfished PLEASE DO NOT EAT SHARK FIN SOUP

  • Everything in the sea we eat are over fished.

I dont think not eating a piece of shark fin will change anything.

  • Yes I do understand that EVERYTHING is being over fished but I didn't really understand exactly how serious this problem was until I watched an educational video "sharkwater" They have killed off about 80% of the entire shark population for shark fin soup. I hope you take a look into this subject ,watch the video and maybe ask some friends about it. I am curious as to what people are thinking and what they know. Thanks, Jennifer

  • watch?v=eScDfYzMEEw

  • but it's sooo ymmmy!!!! hahaha... I wonder if anyone from PETA watches IRON CHEF? lol

  • lol at the comments made by that woman judge

  • that Sweet and Sour lobster dish looks great!

  • Dang. I just ate lunch, and this makes me hungry. XD I must say, the soup by the Iron Chef looks quite delicious.

  • i am curious learning more about the challenger's fried rice. is it an known established technique to add egg into recently cooked rice? traditional wisdom is to use cold rice.

  • the challenger's food doesn't seem that innovative. Two of his dishes are just variations of the ones in his restaurant...the original dishes not created by him either XD!

  • That is what Kaga asked him to do.

  • *drool*

  • HAHA "dai-joe-boo"

the dubber killed that word :)

  • the dad frm yukan club is the dad. lol first tym its someone i recognise

  • my bad i meant guest judge

  • the woman pisses me off. she just makes noises: oh! aah! eeh! and she's ridiculous she said the broth dish is a carpaccio.

  • no idea wat carpaccio is but it was the guy hu said it. besides its the chicks dubbing thats annoying not really her.

  • the guy CORRECTED her, dude. and the "dubbing" person is required to say exactly what the actual annoying girl says, even the little over-used 'ah' 'ooh' 'eeh''s.

  • carpaccio is an italian dish that consists of thinly slicyed meat served raw or very close to raw

  • It relates to an artist who was famous for his use of the color red. As such the original carpaccio was made with red meat. Of course the style for preparation spread to fish later and now is mostly made with fish. Of course considering the higher health risks of red meat, it's not surprising.

  • no, he called it a carpaccio way earlier, when it really did look like it could be a carpaccio. she says something in japanese (no english translation, i guess?), and he goes "no, not a carpaccio" in response to his earlier guess.

  • i'd actually like to see two of those giant lobsters battle each other

  • maybe that could be illegal.

  • The chick's voice is very irritating.

  • i want to punch that lady

  • Why do people keep saying this is cruelty?

    Shit.

If carrots can scream, will that be cruelty?

  • wait what ?!!! carrots dont scream ???

  • Is it wrong to get a hard-on looking at these delicious food?

  • nope

  • definitely not

  • It's wrong not to.

  • crab brains? fuck that

  • It's delicious! Damn it!

  • the sweet and sour lobster of the challenger doesn't look very inovative. Still I would be happy to eat it. I'm almost certain the iron chef will win

  • ill have sex with that food

  • I'll fuck the brains out of.... er.... the lobster brain?

    Lol.

  • The problem is that without equalized time, tools, etc. you simply can't get a measure of a chef's skill vis-a-vis another chef. To argue that time constraints are illegitimate is to ignore what actual cooks have to do. Restaurants are all about keeping up with the crunch and producing good food quickly. Time constraints let you see if a chef can repeat success. The chefs on the show routinely say that it is very difficult and a true test of their skills.

  • you are right...I just imagine if we have never had the concept of time in our minds, so theres no needs of time speeds ..not only saying in culinary works but also in everything we do...just let the skills flow out

anyway Kobe was quite young at the time as being an Iron Chef...not see much of him showing up

  • sick fuck

  • hahahhahahahaha lmfao!!! XD hahaahahhahaaa nice nice nice nice XD

  • I think the dubbing is kind of amusing. Especially when he goes "Fukwizan!"(not sure of spelling)

  • He is saying Fukai-San as in Mister Fukai.

  • His name is Kenji Fukui, so he says Fukui-san not Fukai-san...

  • The English are subbed & voice overs no the original speakers' voice.

But Chairman Kaga speaks English but not regularly.

  • Which judge?

  • I HATE THAT JUDGES VOICE! I luv this show! Thanks for posting it!
