This is actually great, sage advice Mark gives Glenn. I love Glenn a lot--but many times, he puts himself in VERY awkward situations by 1) acting like a clown (which he's toned down a bit lately), 2) trying to reason with pinheads like Katie Couric (which he's stopped doing completely), and 3) by dumping on the GOP with a "both parties stink, and people registering Independent gives me hope" mantra.

I disagree with ML. It's not about simply disliking the Obama and/or his policies; it's about being FOR something, and that takes a bit soul-searching. Beck's thesis was bout how the Republican Party lost its core principles by being "Democrat Light". And as theatrical Beck can get (i.e. his chalkboard), it is his passion for the issues that help make the case as to why strict constitutionalism can works. So, sorry, ML. He has never handled a budget, he's thin skinned, and he doesn't know how to negotiate with the opposition without ego. On the other hand, B. Clinton was a lot more competent in office than Obama can ever be, and he got the US out of the 1992 economic recession a lot faster than Obama, who would rather promote his ideology than do his JOB.

I disagree with ML. It's not about simply disliking the Obama and/or his policies; it's about being FOR something, and that takes a bit soul-searching. Beck's thesis was bout how the Republican Party lost its core principles by being "Democrat Light". And as theatrical Beck can get (i.e. his chalkboard), it is his passion for the issues that help make the case as to why strict constitutionalism can works. So, sorry, ML. I rather have the clown than snobbery conservatism any day.

What I am saying is that it is Beck's style that commentators like ML who dismiss it as "rodeo clown commentary". I also said that it took what is going on between the Republican establishment and the Tea Party people to validate what Beck was saying in the first place (i.e. that the party was sacrificing conservative principals for pragmatic politics).

He has never handled a budget, he's thin skinned, and he doesn't know how to negotiate with the opposition without ego. On the other hand, B. Clinton was a lot more competent in office than Obama can ever be, and he got the US out of the 1992 economic recession a lot faster than Obama, who would rather promote his ideology than do his JOB.
