Chad was pretty good, but there towards the end of his run with Nirvana, the live shows I saw of him playing, he got real sloppy with his drumming and it wasn't what he was capable of, so that could be why they let him go. Besides, look how many times they went through drummers before Dave. I think they really needed a guy like Dave, and the combo of that trio is probably what really pushed them into fame and into our hearts. But yeah, Chad is good, but I prefer Dave a little more.

I have this version from the boxed set. Still trying to find an audio of it. This was probably from old glory days before Nirvana (UK) sued them up the ass for stealing their name. They suck! In my opinion this Nirvana will always be better!

I'm missing Dave's vocal harmonies over the top, but otherwise this version's better all around. I have a lot of trouble listening to Nevermind—it's horribly overproduced.

There is something that feels more special in the older Nirvana that you just can't feel in the newer Nirvana.

@oglockwood If you want this version as an mp3 I'd suggest just recording one off of this video (use a program for recording directly from whatever audio is playing, don't hold a mic to the speakers or anything). I don't know of any other way, never seen one for download.

Type in youtube to mp3 on google. The first link click that.  And then you just put the link of the vid into the bar and you go from there.

I don't abuse it though. Only use it for stuff that is rare and unreleased.

chad isnt better drummer than dave, but he had the same style as nirvana in their first songs. Then in nevermind they changed to comercial music, so the sound of dave`s drum was more soft.

This version rocks more than nevermind version. And i like more the chad`s style in all the ways. Sound, moves,

@numberninteynine Dave wrote very little on Nevermind, he just played what was on the original demo tracks. In Utero and the first 2 Foo Fighters album were all Grohl however.
