  • With SOPA this video will be take out of YouTube ???

  • @MChiribogaD No

  • @MChiribogaD i dont think j.s. bach was signed to a record label.

  • @falafel2 and he is not so scandalous for making him a video equals to violation of copyrights of him, that will be stupid...

  • @MChiribogaD absolutely. This video is property of someone else. It doesn't matter who wrote the song.

  • @MChiribogaD it depends... with sopa, "they" will have power to take down entire sites like youtube for even one little infringement. so, in a way, yes. it could be possible, if sopa is approved.

  • Wonderful!

  • magnificent

  • He is entering the Cheat code to enter Hell...

  • Bach, God's Second Son.

  • Where is the HD and 7.1 surround sound?!

  • 223 people are soulless and have cold water running through their veins.

  • Fucking awesomeness in its most extreme expression.

  • the organ is an extremely difficult instrument to master

  • @QuanChiKombat

That's like saying brain surgery is "mildly taxing"

It's a Herculean Labor! But a Labor of Love ;-)

  • 5:40 goddamn multi fucking tasking

  • JUST START!!! .......... 0:30 impatient generation here

  • @AbstractGreenDude I agree with you for the most part, though there are some beautiful songs today. But you're right, this type of music IS under appreciated.

@all the haters - leave 'em alone! AbstractGreenDude is only voicing their opinion!

  • Bach, the pupil of God.

  • Who the hell would dislike this?? 223 dislikes? really?

The sheer talent of the player, the intricate mind of Bach, the majesty of the instrument.

An absolutely amazing composer and performance of the work.

  • classical composers and musicians work hard than pop musicians (at least half the pop musicians in the world cant even read music)

  • which church is it?

  • @juliantom182 As it says in the opening credits it is the Basilika Von Ottobeuren. It is in Germany.

  • @whst400

haha thanks and sorry, I was impatient and skipped it, shame on me ;)

  • Karl Richer, to me, is the best organist, so as to fully perform J.S. Bach organ works as nothing but perfectly...

I am sure he is now blasting it playing in heaven as he did when he was with us...

  • the guy behind him is like Death watching him and praising :D

  • Ist Karl richter toten. Is Karl richter dead

  • Comment removed

  • @StarWarsFanatic115 Karl Richter. 10-15-1926 to 02-15-1981.

  • this is the only guy i've ever heard that could play this song with such intensity and feeling.

  • thanks ...This is our only hope not to forget what a human stands for...

  • The ending of the song at 8:52 is just so electrifying and just an explosive conclusion to the piece.

  • Great piece, nice playing, but I prefer more historical instrument and playing

  • @ebreandhil Could you clarify please? This organ is over 250 years old. What could be more historical?

  • This my dear friends is the great gandady of modern day metal!

  • If classical could "rock", this piece definately would!!!

  • Нехилая версия, понравило!

  • well he doesn't deserve to be buried with this song.

  • dude i'm imagining bieber's funeral

  • DUDE I HAVE AN IDEA! WORLDWIDE FUGUE-OFF WITH A $50,000 USD GRAND PRIZE

  • who would dislike this really? they obviously have no idea what true art is...

  • I shed a damn tear. Good luck doing that with the shitty rap/hip-hop ''music'' nowadays.

  • @Cujucuyo Hundreds of years from now, priests will rap the praise of the lord and savior "Eminem"

  • 3:22 gives me goose bumps every, single, time.

  • Now THIS is art!

  • Hey!

I record videos of me playing the piano, classical songs like Bach, Beethoven, Schumann

Please, thumbs up here so people can see it!

    Hope you like it, thanks!

  • God, that 9-8 suspension at 8:53. I melt.

  • i used to mock bach's church years, as he also regrets them; but for the last weeks only music feeds my soul is organ music...

  • @muzcu Really you think that Bach regrets his church years, I would like to know your source for his statement?

  • Which stop Richter uses in pedal? Isn't it bomba?

  • Beautiful registration change in the fugue.

  • Bach was absolutely a fucking genius! This song alone is proof.

  • Fabulous in every way. You can hear Bach playing this!

  • impressive organ and very talented organ player!

  • chuck norris respec(bless) you K.Richter

  • In contrast to many other recordings in youtube, this performance has a soul, both the organist's and the organ's!

  • Sublime!

  • i don't want to live on this planet anymore... i almost cried while listening to this :( when i see the music nowdays it just gets on my nerves !!!! it's sad... very sad... this music is poorly apreciated.

  • @AbstractGreenDude nobody remembers bad music from the past. Today we have great times for music. Everybody having internet can experience good music for free. Without restrictions you have in tv, radio or local music shop.

  • @AbstractGreenDude No, you just should stop using internet and start going to concerts and meeting people interested in this kind of music. Then you'll see that the music is alive.

  • @AbstractGreenDude Dude, you are bizarre. People are listening this for 200 years. Do you really think they will stop listening it now? This music is ETERNAL.

  • @TonyWRO you misunderstood me, what i wanted to say is that this music isn't promoted as it should be. Nowdays, lady gaga and justin bieber are in the top of the charts. That's why is sad.

  • @AbstractGreenDude Fuck this, they promote music which they want us listen to but there are still much people who listen the real music

  • @AbstractGreenDude Oh don't be such a fucking gimp! If you think there is no decent music around today then you're not looking hard enough for it. Studying classical music at university taught me that posterity is kind to music, only the best seems to survive. There has always been bad music so if you think that there is nothing worth listening to now then that reflects poorly on you. I'm so sick of this kind of bitching! Go and broaden you horizons and get over yourself!

  • @stoph2 i'm not saying that there isn't good music anymore, i'm saying that this kind of music is poorly apreciated !

  • @stoph2 rules seem to have changed, the worst music make it to the market. The good ones are never really seen.

  • @AbstractGreenDude there are still classical players out there making awesome shit continuing the tradition. Segovia, yngwie malmsteen, and pretty much ne player from the 80's. After the 80's music truly died as classical music influences became taboo to the public. But at least there still some out there just not very big in name because they said fuck mainstream and stayed with the classics.

  • @ravenrage07 one more thing im classically influenced in my guitar stuff. Whenever I get out and going it may be revived to its previous glamour.

  • @AbstractGreenDude Well if someone did try and write something like this, they would be written off as old-fashioned and immature. The classical institution laments the decline of classical music in popular culture, whilst trying to peddle their alienating contemporary bullshit to the masses.

  • @AbstractGreenDude Is it ? It is widely recognised as a masterpiece..............

  • I guess people realise he doesnt use notes for this.. but those who dont look again.

  • You see folks.... Bach's life wasn't confused by cell phones, twitter, Facebook popularity, cyber bullying, global warming, XBOX games, phony CNN reports or the internet...He just made timeless music instead. No distractions or BS... Just art.

What the hell do you do with your life?

  • @LanceCampeau

I have distractions, BS...AND art! Admittedly nowhere near Bach's level but it's there none the less. Not that I'm proud of the filth on my channel...

  • 218 peoples are deaf, the poor :(

  • Is this music from bach? plss answer! I really wanna know!!

  • @401Bugatti Yes it is.

  • @dtiydr Thank you!

  • @401Bugatti No problems but you could have found the answer extremely easy on for example google and you would also have got the answer more quickly as well, just saying.

  • brilliant interpretation :)

p.s. might be a weird question: but does anybody know if karl richter spoke english?

  • I put the volume on the stereo to "wake up the next city".

  • @dtiydr So that's what I heard tonight.

Well, I loved it!!! Do it again please!

  • @Djembe908 :)

  • אני יותר מוכשר אני יודע לנגן יונתן הקטן חחחחחח

  • its amazing to think that all the parts of the organ work fast enough to keep up with the notes.

  • Seriously, who disliked this?

That is a fantastic organ in a beautiful setting played superbly. Best of all though, was Bach's sublime talent for composition.

  • For the final from 8:28 it looks like he activated EVERY stop of the organ! What a power. :-O

  • I cannot a pressing of this in any record store, thank heavens it is on youtube for all to hear!

  • @jonathangrauberg: Instruments were pitched differently a few hundreds of years ago. A = 440 Hz is a rather new definition, maybe 150 years old? I'm not entirely sure...

It seems I'm not allowed to post liks. Search wikipedia for A440.

  • how do you memorize this?!

  • who says men can't do multitasking? :p

  • Al gore?

  • REV 18

  • Would someone care to explain why there is another man standing so close behind him?

  • @OpusPocuSS fact!!

  • ЭТО ЛУЧШЕЕ НА ЮТУБЕ!!

    ХОРОШИЙ ТЕМП.

    ЧЁТКАЯ ГРАНИЦА ПЕРЕХОДОВ

  • I was already impressed but when it reaches the 6:48 it's like "are you kiding me?"

  • @jorgeferreira2009 Pretty much exactly what I thought. No comment. Insane...

  • Playing this successfully on the Organ must feel like being a God amongst men... and as cliche as it is, honestly none of the major "Artists" on the radio can say that.. Only people that come close to the "Godlyness" effect are probably Deadmau5 or Skrillex and of course they're not widely played on the radio to begin with.

  • @urmomandad LOL, implying Skrillex is actually music

  • Grossmeister Aller Zeiten

  • Excellent !!!

    Cette musique est sublime !

    Et merveilleusement bien jouée.

    :-)

    (lepianoarcenciel)

  • ou est cet instrument ? il est magnifique de quelle époque est-il ? l'organiste est un champion

  • second best version... very very nice, but i'm affraid that Hans-Andre Stamm rules!

  • @haakon83 thats the best version ever

  • cool

  • 218 people think lil wayne is more talented

  • @LaMaisondeCasaHouse

In playing the organ? No offense, but Lil Wayne is not know for this type of magnificence, but you don't fault an apple for not being a pumpkin.

"... and bring Bach back alive!" and this is just the stuff to do it.

  • @LaMaisondeCasaHouse 218 people have no class.

  • @desastermaster2010 Few people realize that organ was built before electricity was discovered. It is entirely mechanical. Not only does it take a master to play it, it takes a master to keep it working.

  • @ssureshot And it took an athlete to pump those bellows!

  • An truly electrifying performance.

  • best version by far

  • playing this song seems like the greatest of impossibilities to be accomplished... but then I remember that someone actuallly WROTE THIS!!! What great mind it takes to compose the Melody of the Fabric of the Universe

  • Brilliant brilliant brilliant. It's amazing to hear a piece of music like this that is so loved by people of all nationalities, written so long ago and since when Europe has been plunged into war many times. I want to sit the Kaiser, Napoleon etc down and tell them to shut up and just listen.

  • Hollly &*#% when it showed his feet dancing on the lower keys it gave me shivers! and with two other voices crazily going on on the upper keys. That`s just awesome! Thanks for the post!

  • This is music.

  • este wey es una verga!!

    3:11 wow, simplemente wow!!!

  • Bravo, bravo, bravoooo!

A brain surgeon once said, that playing the organ is at least as difficult as brain surgery! What mastery of the organ Herr Richhter had!

  • perfecto

  • Wow!!!

  • Me encanta!

  • Rest in Peace Karl, You the man. *****

  • 218 pendejos que nos les gusta la música de este genio. Es música elaborada para los oidos de los dioses dando las gracias por habernos permitido tener inteligencia y poder tener uno entre millones escribiendo esta música... por Dios

  • Toccata and Fugue in C# minor?!!

  • @PaulBielatowicz no. the sound of the organ is in c# minor. if you see in the video, you will realized that the scale is in d minor, just like others performs

  • @thecomde Yeah, I realised that - just sounds odd, that's all. Thanks for the explanation though. :o)

  • @PaulBielatowicz The 'baroque pitch' is lower than the standard A=440 (maybe A=415?) You may search Googles.

  • @patrickdcyau Your correct.

  • See you at the party Richter!

  • Bravo :-*

  • this is what synthesizers used to be in the old days.

  • So why is the bloke standing behind him? Moral support? LOL! Happy Halloween 2011 ...

  • @DigitalLazarus Haha that really cracked me up

  • @DigitalLazarus To pull the registers.

  • Very powerful.

  • Uaaaoooo, :-O

  • I really love this song and I have told my wife to play this on my funeral. I'll write a testament about it just in case this is forgotten. I suspect I love this song partly because I played Gyruss (a space shoot-em-up) as a child and part of the song is in the game. This is the best version I have heard of it!

  • The pipe organ is one of my favorite musical instruments, and this particular work is very enjoyable. It is a shame that such music is usually only heard near Halloween since it was composed originally to praise the Divine rather than the daemonic. I hope that its true message of life that never ends is the one that resounds most.

  • best thing ive ever heard in my whole life. he must be a geanus, he has no music sheet
