@speeder741 Well I already knew I didn't want anything more than a 600 because they had higher learning curves. I did have people say that to me but I ignored them and learned in my own way. As long as you have the capacity to keep the wheels and the bike in your control you should be fine.  As soon as you get in over your head back off a bit. That's what gets people into trouble and the reason for seeing "downed rider" news stories usually.

@ashf00t That's exactly what I say to my friends while I drive my car. On the other hand, some studies show that it's safer for bikers to go slightly faster than the rest of traffic. The problem with this is that traffic always goes 5-10 mph faster than the speed limit. So now I have reached a point of conflicting interests with myself. I'll go the speed limit in my 4-wheeled vehicles but faster when on a motorcycle. I do respect your acts of self-preservation.

@summerson1 I hear that the GS500 is a great bike to start on. It is much more forgiving than the gsxr 600 but has more power than a 250. Many times I hear people say to start on a 500 rather than a 250.

I think it looks amazing and as soon as the winters over I plan on getting my bike license amd buying a Gixxer. i just got the same bike gixxer 600 about 3 months ago n ya i agree my mother still to this day even when its winter storaged she dosnt want me riding but its all true its your life, do what your want but as long as u ride safe (^^,) this is my first bike and when i started riding it i didnt realize how much respect this bike needs and allready 2 diff times i allmost lost it. so im going to take a advanced riding course.

@mimito92 the first time, I remember it having a lot of power. I wasn't use to any kind of bike except for a bicycle so I had to get use to it. I actually remember when it scared me a couple times just from taking off from a red light or something. I don't get scared much anymore though. It takes a lot more now.

@hohohee1 never fallen or lowsided. Depends on the type of person. If you are patient then ya go slow on a 600, but if you are trigger or throttle happy I'd advise a 250.
