Yeah, everybody in the UK watched Top of the Pops during those days, cause there was no other music channel.

I remember watching Jeffrey Daniels do his thing that night, and being blown away.

Went to school the next day, and EVERYBODY was trying mimic his moves. And that occurred across the UK.

Ask anyone, in the UK of that era, who they first saw do the moonwalk, and they'll say JEFFREY DANIELS.

I'm not sure even if he knows the extent of his WOW-FACTOR in the UK at that time.

Many other music stars performed the act from Cab Calloway, Sammy Davis jr., to Michael Jackson. Maybe the UK was effected by that WOW-FACTOR, but MJ taken the dance, reinvinted the movement making it the MOONWALK....not the BACKSLIDE!

According to the LA Times 'In 1976 Cornelius and then partner Dick Griffey forned Soul Train Records, "I bought a master, a finished record from a producer" Cornelius explains The groups lead singer Gary Mumford was excellent I decided to replace the back ground people however with two Soul Train dancers

Check out Diana Ross' concert 'DIANA' in the round 1979 (but premired in 1980) Michael dancing on stage singing EASE ON DOWN THE ROAD, wearing the first of what's to come of many Military looks. Jeffrey's rip-off was in 1983...four years later. Michael perfected what Cooley Jackson taught him and took it to a level ondancer has been able to account for. better luck next time Jeff!

Street dancing, robot, tape....so, many style. yes, Jeffrey worked with Michael, as a backup dancer, but never hired as a lead dancer, that should tell you of his limited ability of dance style.

Check out Michale's work of dance. it just wasn't Jeffrey's, but others as well, from Fred Astair, Cac Calloway, James Brown, David Ruffin and others, then he piled it all up and made it Michael. Jeffrey's dance was the BACKSLIDE, which had been performed by Cotton club dancers such as Cab Calloway and others......Michael learned the Backslide, turned it into the MOONWALK and made the dance move a world wide phenomenon.

Michael created the 'Moon walk' view both dancers style, watch carefully and you will see for yourself. Better, yet Google, or type in 'Cooley Jackson's name in the engine search here on Youtube and he'll give you the history background on teaching Michael. There's not one interview, from Oprah to Youtube where Michael confess Jeffrey being his teacher of the dance!
