The review testing on the range is irrelevant, you should have used the same type of laptops. Thus different types of laptops has different types of wifi hardware. One laptop might have a better wifi hardware than the other.

hey guys if you have a problem with your network key. u can actually obtain it on a windows Vista and windows 7 laptop. well depending upon the brand, cause some has it's own wireless utility

on windows 7

click start +control panel +network and Internet+network and sharing center+manage wireless network+(make sure that u are connected to ur wirlesss network from ur router)=RIGHT click ur wirelesss network then select PROPERTIES+then check show characters

on windows vista click on start + control panel+network and internet+network and sharing center+manage wireless network +(make sure that u are connected on ur wireless network from the router)+right click ur wireless network then select properties+click security tab+security tab+check the show characters..Remember not all laptop has this like windows XP and others some laptop even if it is a windows 7 or vista could not obtain the network key or the password of ur wireless network ..

I've had 2 Dlink routers...one wireless n and one wireless g and they have both had this problem: you need to restart them for no reason sometimes. One that I had if it lost power then you had to connect it back to the power, unplug it and wait fifteen minutes before you can plug it back in. It's total bull carp. I recommend a netgear router. They are really reliable

I'm having problems with my D-Link router it was working for a bit then it just stopped working after awhile ....almost a year it was working then it just stopped. My friend went to some D-Link tech support site and fixed it for me then after like a week my router messed up again and ya it's like not even working anymore the lights go on ....just stays on not blinking....tried to re install it but I dunno nothing is connect or anything.

Just a moment! Maybe I don't understand something! This router suppose to provide us with 300Mbps bandwidth. In your test you show 11.2MB file tratsfer in 10:19sec. That means approximately 1MBps that means 8 Mbps. So where are 292Mbps?

I know you guys may be small time but you really didn't prove much with these "tests". You throw B and G around like they're the same (they're not) and your distance test is completely subjective and provides no real data (just a camera shot). And D-Link is "king of routers"? That's a lofty title for a company known for making sub-par networking products. See TomsHardware for how a true technical review is done.

The range test is very bad because you see the power/phone line along the road that is interfering with Wifi radio and boosting its range acting like giant antenna. Albert next time go to really open wilderness without any metallic object nearby and do the range that way we will know the truth!!!

Great test. The G wireless did better than I thought it would but then again it was a straight line without obstruction like walls or trees. I wonder if setting the router up on a 6 foot pole would have made much difference in distance? Pretty good distance considering the router sat on the ground.
