  • It's absolutely impossible for me to listen to the bald guy talk. I have to skip over him every time I watch, his voice makes me physically unsettled.

  • gay pedophile and a rapist

  • I always thought Alec Baldwin's Glengarry Glen Ross cameo was the inspiration for Ben Affleck's cameo in Boiler Room. I've mentioned it before a number of times, and usually the people I'm talking to hadn't made the connection previously, but they usually say I'm onto something. I know a lot of people who like Boiler Room. It's very popular with my generation. Great movie.

  • 0:22 your welcome.

  • Samuel L. Jackson in Coming to America!!!!

  • Did they mention Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein? Guy was brilliant. Or does he not count?

  • ...Topher Grace in Ocean's Eleven?

    Are you sure?

  • J.T. Walsh in Outbreak - amazing actor. RIP.

  • Bill Murray in Zombieland!

  • Jonah Hill in the 40 year old virgin?

  • Or Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused:

"That's what i love about highschool girls, I get older and they stay the same age".

  • All good performances. Also all men - I wonder why?

  • @squeakthefreak its rare for women to get such a good one-scene part. the really good scenes for women tend to be film-long parts where they can explore the character. most single scene roles for women are interchangable. they are just "a woman".

  • this is like onion for grown ups...

  • I was in the middle of taking a sip of coffee when he said, "PUT THAT COFFEE DOWN."

    Almost crapped my pants there.

  • @himynameisnozomi

Haha, same. I sketched right out

  • @himynameisnozomi God damnit they got me too.

  • WWHHAAAATTTT CCOOFFFFEEE?????? I DON'T HAVE NO CCOOFFFFEEE???

  • I'd add Donald Sutherland as "Mister X" in Oliver Stone's JFK to the list.

  • @ianberg1 Yup, no doubt - Donald Sutherland was electrifying in the Mr X scene !!

  • John Turturro as Jesus in the Big Lebowski. Technically he was in two scenes, but it feels like the same thing.

  • @spase667 THE Jesus ;)

  • My favorite one scene wonder is obviously Alec Baldwin.I most recently saw Network after a long time, and Ned Beatty should have got the Oscar for supporting actor.

  • If you're not interested then stop watching the A.V Club videos. It's not hard to do because your click is only giving them more views. So tired of seeing the same people complaining. STFU already. So people actually enjoy it.

  • At 2:03, Nathan Rabin showcases his bitchlaugh.

  • The best thing about that scene with Ned Beatty in "Network" is that he does it an evangelical preacher sinner you must repent or be damned style. You can hear the same stuff any day of the week today from Thomas Friedman or corporate spokesmen but you usually hear it from them speaking it in corporate gobbledygook that takes some of the shock out of it.

  • It's about real movies and yes, av club is real

  • So is this AV club real or is it fake?

i know the onion is fake but i am not sure about this.

  • @TornSlayer97 do your own research. all it takes is google. its real.

  • What, is this real or fake?

  • I love the AV club. I want to see more

  • i like the av club

  • Jason Shwartzman and Bill Murray in Rushmore. Hard to decide between the two, so they both deserve praise for so many amazing moments in that film.

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies except they're in the entire movie, and this is 'one-scene wonders'.

  • where can i find the movie "network" cuz i really wanna see that.

  • would the ass watch in pulp fiction count

  • Thanks for mentioning a great female performance that won an Oscar before moving to the third man on a three-person list of great acting performances. We appreciate getting tossed a bone on occasion.

  • @tauceti1234 for f@ck sake *facepalm*

  • I view Baldwin's scenes as a movie within a movie, it's less that he stole the movie than it is the rest of the cast acted in completely removed section of it.

  • ~~> I wanna chia Mr. T....

  • I was drinkinking my coffee when he told me to put it down, thats a once in a lifetime form of fuckery called a fuckstance and its rare.

  • John Goodman's one scene in C.H.U.D. is also really good.

  • Onion, im really interested in the AV club. please get them their own channel

  • @BoogieKnight815 yes, MOAR!

  • @BoogieKnight815

NO!! We OWN them!!! They are our serfs! Do not incite them against their leaders or we are coming for you!!!! The A.V. Club is our own personal bitch!

    Signed,

    The Onion

  • @BoogieKnight815 they have one

  • how the hell is this comedy???

I though TheOnion was supposed to be comedy!!!

  • Alec Baldwin <3

  • If you really want to discuss these scenes, show them and then discuss them, the running commentary is very very annoying.

  • i will pay ANYTHING FOR A MR T CHIA PET

  • Are you guys in Michigan? I see the faygo red pop in the background.

  • @LeftyCenter cghicago although noel murray lives in arkansasa

  • Christopher Walken, Pulp Fiction

  • I was just picking my coffee up when he said to put it down =/

  • Jon Lovitz, A league of their own.

  • Great video other than the bald son of a bitch I can't stand his little voice

  • I'm absolutely interested in the AV Club. In fact your other content is horrible.

  • uh Robert Duvall in To Kill A Mockingbird!

  • ... Is this serious? On the ONN?

  • Ohhhhhhhhh Onion, I don't want to have ONE FUCKING THUMBNAIL in my subscription box about something that is to educational for me. Waaahhhh.

  • What is this and why did Onion upload it?

  • Dear subscribers:

If you don't like the A.V Club DO NOT WATCH IT. Simply click the x and go on with your day.

  • Nathan Rabin is an amazing writer. Inventory and My Year of Flops were both hilarious.

  • i dont get it.

  • I didn't come to the Onion, to hear media jabbers.

  • Onion, im not interested in the AV club. please get them their own channel

  • @Blacckkfire AV Club is the only thing I watch on Onion and I WISH they had their own channel

  • @Blacckkfire That was the most reasonable criticism I've ever seen on youtube.

  • @Blacckkfire While, I think AV club is absolutely awesome, I think you're right since onion and AV club are fairly different in tone, and throws people moreso than the onion already does. Though perhaps that's why the onion posts AV club stuff here.

  • @Blacckkfire Yeah, I unsubscribed

  • @Blacckkfire i like this

  • @badfart43 and if they had their own channel, you could subscribe to them

  • @Blacckkfire exactly, Onion Listen to this person!

  • @Blacckkfire then don't whatch it retard.

  • @hiothezebra And I dont, but im annoyed by seeing in the onions subscription box

  • @Blacckkfire You are free to just ignore them.

  • @Blacckkfire How can you not be interested in AV club? This shit is gold!

  • @alexanderzero because im not. does that effect you in any way? no

  • @Blacckkfire Does the AV club being on theonion's channel affect you in any way? no! D:<

  • @Blacckkfire I'm interested in AV Club. I like it that they have it on this channel as opposed to users like ijustine who have 6 channels for 6 different things.

  • Nathin Rabin bothers me so much. His voice. His face. It's all too much.

  • @MrDrSmithJr o my god me too

  • what that john c riley?

  • This doesn't belong here. One of these things is not like the others, one of these isn't funny. Not that it's supposed to be, but I didn't subscribe to this.

  • Get your own channel, thankyou.

  • the guy who played Mr Bookman on Seinfeld. I saw him on one of those "The Onion" videos playing a senator.

  • What was great about this scene was the writing and the filming, not the acting. Anyone could've played this scene.

  • whats your name

    FUCK YOU THATS MY NAME!

  • I'm sorry, but no one steals a film from Jack Lemmon.

  • Clint Howard in almost anything. And by the way, can you imagine what might happen if the entertainment division got its hand on a news division!

  • im so glad boogie nights is in here

  • Christopher Walken in Pulp Fiction.

Who doesn't know about the watch? Who forgets the watch?

Teh dude didn't even have to shout like these 3.

  • @hodor Christopher Walken had a lot of scenes like this in a lot of films, but maybe that would have been too obvious a choice.

  • Put that coffee down? How dare you...put that wig on first.

  • OOOOOH I saw a bottle of red Faygo, not I really want some.

  • AV Club should get it's own channel.

  • what about charlie sheen in ferris bueller's day off?

  • @tubertomp I would place him far higher than Pamela Anderson in Borat.

  • @tubertomp that was two scenes

  • @tubertomp

oh god, that was charlie sheen???

  • This looks like the greatest movie EVER

  • AV Club: Please include links to scenes so we can watch them in full...

  • LOL, I was actually drinking coffee.

  • Dear Nathan,

That scared the shit out of me... actually put my coffee down.

  • second one was meeeeh, first was a good one, third sucked

  • .....what about the opening scenes from full metal jacket?

    those were epic

  • where does on get a 'chia Mr T' ? That thing is funny.

Also... what do hipster douche bags know about films?

  • You could have just used the three scenes from Network for this video and it would have fit.

  • How true is that fucking second movie? Scary.

  • "Heres Johny!" ... how is that not in here?

  • @yangkx because jack nicholson has done many famous movies and is know for scenes beyond that one.

  • @NinaRoxxanne yea if they were going to put one in there for him it would probably be the "YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH" scene

  • @yangkx Because Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) is the main character in The Shining.

  • Im liking this AV club :) got them on my iPhone now. Cool topics.

  • DAMN YOU for forgetting this youtube.com/watch?v=OADJl-CVDo0

  • Actually, I can't have coffee. I was eating a frozen waffle. Close though!

  • My coffee was already down, so nyah.

  • dear 40 yr olds with no personality: get the fuck off of youtube.

  • I don't know why, but the fake talking at the beginning annoys the fucking shit out of me.

  • If A.V. Club gets its own channel, I WILL SUBSCRIBE! Good stuff, but not the Onion.

  • The AV club is not satire -- is is about the "arts"

  • @iristacrat Yes, the AV Club is not satire, which is why it should be on a separate channel to The Onion, which is satire.

  • MAKE THE VIDEOS LOUDER

  • Dan Conner's dad sure has a pretty mouth, strawberry Faygo, and the Onion isn't real morons.

  • what about ben stein in ferris buellers day off

  • for an A.v. video, it's kinda funny that the audio was too low.

  • AV Club is seriously my new fave show. Not"funny" necessarily, but totally fulfills a niche interest. Please expand...

  • I just cant quite understand why a new channel has not been made. Nearly your entire community is supporting this series and telling it needs its own channel, which is ridiculously easy to do.

  • Glenn Garry Ross is a great movie. Is more than just one good scene.

  • This was pretty boring. Just sayin. (But Alec Baldwin is a great actor)

  • PAMELA ANDERSON IN BORAT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • I only watch AV Club because I like seeing all the nerdy stuff in the background.

  • i liked it too, stop complaining for free entertainment you fools

  • This is the most boring, useless waste of minutes in memory.

  • @72gibson I liked it....

  • @72gibson More useless than... Fred? Nah

  • This is not what I subscribed to TheOnion for.

I don't know about anyone else, but I subscribed for news satire, not random people talking about scenes in movies that I don't care about.

  • Gay. I want the old onion back!

  • some ladies please....

  • I LOVE A.V. CLUB!

    MORE A.V. CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 109 dislikes? Maybe they were all expecting irony (?)

  • This stuff shouldn't be on the onion channel..

  • Awesome Animal-Man action figure in the back

  • what movie or show spoofed the last scene that it showed? It's killing me

  • This Shitt is great

why is it on this channel tho?

  • This is satire! It's just more subtle and the Onion's usual political material.

  • @nunyabizzzzzzz The A.V. Club is not satire and never has been.

  • you know at first i was like "wtf is this AV sh*t, i want more onion bs news!" ... but now I really like these guys :))

  • I Loooove The Network!! :D

  • I need some Christopher Walken in "True Romance."

  • "cum and conquer?"

  • looll at the mr t chia pet in the background 5:21

  • "fuck you, that's my name"

that is exactly what it said on dick cheney's name-tag when he worked as a greeter at wal-mart

  • Network one of the best movies..... but you are forgetting the main character speech

  • I disagree that Baldwin "stole" this film with that scene. It was a great scene but Lemon was amazing, Pacino was phenomenal. Let's face it, if you are studying acting, this film is a how-to guide of how to do it right.

  • What about Garbage Day and THEY'RE EATING HER?

  • @JohnnyReddable I HATE trolls!

  • NETWORK!

  • lists... pop culture... the AV club is basically Cracked with more videos

  • Really? Only one female scene and you chose something by Pam Anderson? Typical... There are women in film, too, guys, and they aren't all just there to be sex objects. I'm sure something from Thelma and Louise could have made the cut. This show is supposed to be an alternative to mainstream thought, right?

  • I love your videos. Smart, with a great sense of humour. Keep up the good work!

  • Love these.

  • Alec Baldwin in the Glengarry Glen Ross is one of the single best scenes I have ever watched. He just come sin and crushes the role, selling the badassery of his character seemingly without any effort whatsoever.

  • omg lol a chia mr t...... HE GOING TO GROW GRASS HAIR FOO!!!

  • too bad all the employees for the AV club are super old, ancient, old men rivers, otherwise maybe they'd list some movies that those of us under 30 care about . . . Boogie Nights being the only exception

  • @D119heavy Yeah, cause we all know that people over 30 don't watch modern movies. I'm under 20, and I enjoy the hell out of these things.

  • Did anyone else notice the Chia Mr.T?
