@M40A3 That wasn't the Elk whining.They were using their cow call to try to make the Elk stop and not go as far before it fell.That Tactic is used a lot in elk archery hunting.

Nice shot, but it's obvious the arrow didn't penetrate enough to "slam into the opposite shoulder" two thirds of it were still sticking out when he was running away. It is still good penetration for that distance on a lare game animal. Nice quick kill, good luck in the future!
