  • I hope he man doesn't bruise easily either

  • oh the great old days, sigh... i really wish i can go back in time and relive the memories.

  • Man they downgraded everything. I mean now they're in this cycle of Johnny Test, Regular Show, and Adventure time day by day and whatever the hell they show. Nothing but shows based on advertising such as Bayblade or something like that.

  • Man cartoon network needs to go back to the shows that made it good instead of putting on adventure time, gumball, regular show, etc. etc. These were the good days when you would sit down saturday night and actually excited about what your watching like tenchi muyo and rurouni kenshin, dot hack, and what not.

  • Saturday Nights over adult-swim ANYDAY....well night ;) haha. I remember EVERY good show on cartoon network came on Saturday nights. These were the nights <3....Pokemon, coming on at night?? You can't get anything better than that. Nowadays, you would have to unwillingly wake up reallly early to watch the new series...where Ash has.....reallly shiny brown eyes ._.... sighhh this makes me feel like a child again XD.

  • " I do hope you don't bruise easily He-man!" LOL

  • kids today.. i feel sorry for the cartoons they are getting are utter shit

this is my childhood.. my friday afternoon/ saturday at grams house watching cable... the only one in my family to have it

now all i do is work. and dream of better times.

  • My childhood :C

it eventually was replaced when toonami moved to saturday nights

  • i don't remember max steel coming on that block

    i must have missed it

  • This was 2003 not 2001! I remember because I was in middle school when I used to watch this.

  • i have to say that it is the parents that we needed to blame because the action and violence.

  • saturday night action was tooougghh!!!!! what ever happened to the good times?

  • POKUHMON

  • I loved this programming block so much. I remember staying up (for my age) quite late each Saturday night to watch .hack//SIGN. Good times.

  • Anyone else notice the Samus reference?

  • damn i remember dis!! those wer da gud days..smh...

  • 2 years off bud.

The Saturday Video Entertainment System was a Toonami-like block of action animation airing Saturday nights which ran March 15, 2003 to April 10, 2004

I will say, I will always remember this block... I remember ruroni kenshin would be on it sometimes... kicked ass.

  • I miss this!

  • I remember watching this every Saturday nite, with my little bro and my Dad. plus saturdays were even cooler at my house, cause it's was Saturday Spaghetti Nights at my house. Just watching Awesome action and anime, while scarfing down spaghetti!

1 is a traitor among us.

  • CN has gone to hell with mulitple showings of KND, Ed Edd Eddy and the other annoying ass shows they run, why can't they bring alot of this back along with the cartoons of the 80's that kick theyre assed

  • I was only 6 when this happened but I remember it well after 9 o clock I always felt like a badass

  • Oh, the memories.

  • *tear of nostalgia rolls down cheek*

    THANK YOU!

I always loved the lineup they had.

Samurai Jack, He Man, Megas XLR, and all the rest...Those were the days of good tv.

That and old Toonami of course.

  • Ah, those were the days.

  • what ever happened to cartoon network...this and toonami were the golden age

  • Yes! I couldn't agree more.

  • @Hiei0908 I would actually say that Cartoon Network is slowly making a change toward the better now. I mean, they changed the "look" of the channel to something more decent and they're bringing back some of the old shows back on. It looks like the years of people hating Cartoon Network so much have finally paid off, and now, things are starting to look up for CN. I still do miss the old days though, especially the "look" from 2004-06.

  • shit now I remember.

  • in like 2 months from now, CN is going to show more non-cartoon/animated shows. Can you say "Possible name change!" I mean what part of CARTOON doesn't the owner understand?

  • it's just a block but that's what'l happen if the block goes well :(

  • Max Steel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that show was pretty good, though i forgot almost everything. I can only remember a Hotel flooding episode.

  • Its Master Chief!

  • No its samus because thats a girl.

  • This was a great thing for Saturdays while Toonami was on weekdays.

  • I miss the Saturday Night Action Block, damn you toonami

  • don't blame toonami, blame cartoon network, or whoever or whatever made these greats things go away!

  • I suppose your the one who gave me the thumbs down too

  • that wasn't me. All i was saying is we should hate the current status of CN and have Anime/Action blocks back besides the one Adult Swim shows on Saturdays.

  • Man thanks so much for posting this man i been lookin for this for months man thank you so much man so many memories staying up all night from 7-2 just watching these action shows

  • you took the words out of my mouth

  • Oh, how I miss the days that CN had a personality. Now it's just a bland network that happens to show cartoons.
