James bott is a great drummer I recorded a 45 in the early 80s with him I still have that recording the name of that band was manna he was a good friend
I would guess this around 1993 which is the year I saw Piazza and Bott in Mannys Car Wash in NYC on a visit from the UK and bought a T-shirt with the same pink photo of the band shown at the front of the bandstand here. I remember his solo that night just like in this video. What a great player. I was told by someone that he couldn´t play long solos for a while because of problems in his arms/tendons/wrists? Whatever the truth I was glad to see him and thank you for posting this video.
I saw jimi do a solo one night while he was still with the Mighty Flyers back in the eighties in Long Beach CA. He was on fire that night, it was the best solo that I had ever seen a drummer do..Gene Krupa would have loved this guy. Treat yourself and go seehim perform, he's awesome!
i just noticed the last response about 7 months ago from Flamsick...i just talked to him today and he seemed pretty alive to me. He's playing tonight at Duff's and I'll be there...
Trad grip, Gene Krupa style, swings like a SOB, musically complimentary to whom ever he's behind. An AMAZING talent. But who of this calibre wouldn't prefer a vintage over a DW kit? Money talks..but as a bass playin' vocalist, I'd kill to have him in my corner!
Your next door neighbor!? Can I come over?! He is unbelievable! Seen him at over 12 T-Bird shows, met him 5 times. Super nice guy, one of the best drummers in the world
4:56- I think someone left their Harley running behind the stage...

Jimi just put out an album with the band Woodbrain. When you listen to some of the subtle stuff he does on that album, it's just amazing.
