  • Wow, most excellent job on the SG project. What was the SG guitar kit you used on this?

BTW, great inlays on the neck too.

  • Heeeey! 8)

If you ever get tired of that guitar ...

    XD

Naw, I better get my lazy ass out of here and do my own version.

  • beutiful guitar

  • fantastic work, congratulations, and the price???

  • very good video man !

  • tony iommy eating bologna

  • that looks awesome,nice work.patience pays off.

  • can u pls pm me on how u got the guitar too look like that caue i playying to make 1 myself thanks

  • what type of humbucker pickups are in it?

  • I would love to hear what the "Divine" SG sounds like.

  • I don't care what others are saying. This looks beautiful to me. The world is not perfect so why expect it from a guitar kit's components right?

  • @mcfrolas Thank you! Very kind of you.

  • shoulda bought a real pickguard... but other than that great job!!!!

  • where do you get your kits?

  • @paintballkiller54 this was on ebay.

  • does it play

  • Plays very nice.

  • rock n roll train!!! ACDC!!!!

  • why don't you buy a gibson pickguard ?? i'd fit and look much better, and you haven't got a truss rod cover, the tuners are wrong, the knobs are wrong, and you haven't got a closed crown on the headstock ( you know it's easy to find those stickers on eBay), the black cover on the back isn't real, so you can't replace it if it's broken (but that's just the kit), and replace those cross inlays by trapezoid inlays will look better believe me, and your toggle switch has to be white.

  • Thanks for your input. It's an imported item. So, everything is wrong on it basically. The pickup spacing is different so I could go with a "custom" pickguard and maybe modify it. I just went with it. It would never pass as a Gibson and I would never try. I put the decal on there for fun. The neck joint is not like a Gibson either. It is what it is...

  • @thomas1a23 Thats harsh man, its a job well done and if it plays well then fuck it! It looks the biz jwhambone79, nice 1, RESPECT!!! :D

  • what kind of kit is this

  • No brand name. They were special ordered I believe.

  • Strange choice of a pickgaurd, great job though!

  • Thanks. Yeah, the pickguard is not quite right I agree.

  • Not to be picky, but why didn't you use black bell knobs? I would have thought those would be more classy than the speed knobs. Marvelous job however. I'm in the works of fixing my SG. The headstock nearly snapped almost completely off.

  • I agree. That's what I had around at the time. Thanks

I hope your SG is going to be okay!

  • I looks like it'll be okay. It could actually be something I can fix, but could use a second opinion.

  • that turned out really well, also im painting a black and white Vh1, i would use stew mac paints but i dont think they can ship aerosol cans to Aus,if i do need something for a guitar i will probably go to stew mac to get it. also 1 final thing,Try Looking up Paint your won Factory finish, its an ebook and it has tons of Knowledge about guitar painting and it guarentees that you will get a factory finish, its really good you should look into it

  • I've seen that. It looks great.

  • very good work

  • Thank you. Very nice of you.

  • what exactly is wet sanding?

  • Wet sanding is used to remove any runs in the lacquer, and is also used to smooth out the guitar, people go to high grits(1200 - 3000) so they can remove scratches so when the guitar is buffed they wont be easily seen

  • BTW, your taste in music kicks ass... just saying.

  • I love that guitar man, couldn't have done a better paint job!

  • how many cans of nitro do you use???

  • I used 1 can red & almost 4 cans clear

  • thanks

  • man that is aesome i got a les paul and a strat.. did you just buy an SG and redo the body and frets because the head stock says gibson haha

  • I cut the headstock & put a chrome vinyl label on it. It looks cool but you could never pass it off as the real deal. Just a "tribute" to the great American classic.

  • great job. have you considered looking for an actuall gibson pickguard, or will it not fit? i think that would really make it look even better.

  • Thanks! I don't know if it would fit. I'll have to look into it.

  • you do great work

  • Thanks Ron! Very kind of you.

  • love the red :)

  • Thanks. Stewmac has a great product.
