When you boot windows 7 it goes directly past the log-in screen, straight to your desktop. Did you disable your password in user account settings, or differently?
Is that the best way? I've seen people do this in, i believe, msconfig. That way they still had a password protected install, but didn't have to type it when windows started...
I'm also wondering how this will work in a Network, since connecting to another PC requires a password...
i really can't see the reason to get an ssd, ok, so im saving 5 secs or so on boot up. BIG DEAL. and im loosing loads of storage, i have to mantain it all the time, its a bitch to reinstall windows on an ssd without doing things first, and there just way to over priced. The old tech is the best tech. Can't beat the old HDD's. I agree with people who say there HDD is about the same boot, just look at my vid on a basic acer i used to have, near as makes no difference.
LOL no mech in hd loads as fast as a ssd and my new sandforce drive is faster than my old drive,i guarantee you have a ton of apps open when windows loads my ssd loads instantly and in a faster usable state, what maintenance?since getting my vertex 2 drive i have yet to maintain it and still have the same fast speeds as before, yes you have to do a few tweaks but it takes like what 5 mins or less.
plus do we really need to compare real world apps to a mech hd?because it kills it
@McLaren9009 but to the point where you loose loads of space and spend loads of money? thre better, just not good enough and worthwhile. and what i mean is you cant keep reformating windows 7 on it otherwise it will wear the drive out.
ssd's today only have a few gain on bandwith well some are maxing out sata II, the only sure thing that will blow 7200rpm away is ssd's latency(seek time) which is almost none!
@l3l21 ssd has lower energy cost ssd works on flash technology i think im not sure ,so i gues no moving parts and format within a flash ssd is 5 to 8 times faster then a hd
I thought an SSD would've been faster, on a fresh install, it's almost the same speed as me, and I'm on an I3 with a 32MB cache traditionnal hard drive.
a ssd will blow your regular hard drive away people who claim there hard drive is faster has yet to run a atto benchmark and prove me wrong or show me a video of there mechanical drive being faster lmao, and most the people claiming a old hd is faster is just saying that because there old tech is out
that wasn't a fast boot, it took 20secs with a SSD. my computer boots in 25secs with all programs and only a 7200rpm HDD, 4gb ram and a core 2 duo 2.8GHz
ok prove your point i hear all talk from people claiming this and that about a 7200 rpm hard drive is as fast of a ssd yet no one has done a video response, also load up apps show me how long they take and run a atto test and let me laugh in your face LOL.its ok man your old mechicanl drive is out of date no need to try and bash ssd cause your stuck on old tech
its fast because os the processor, its the fastest on earth.... and plus a solid state dise.. well....... you should expect that reult.... and also, I didn't se a logon scren, I don't know if you disabled this or omething for speed
lol, I knew it :) it does mkake it faster..... I was thinking in buying eindows 7 computer.... but I'll rather buy a Mac :/ I'm tired enough of windows
Spoken like a true mac-tard. Protip: Mac's are not immune to viruses and can be hacked quite easily because their users think they're impenitrable and don't install firewalls/Antivirus.
We've had macs crash in the computer labs far more frequently in comparison to the XP computers.
Awesome turn off and reboot time! That 1 ssd drive is fast! R U going to add a second 1 down the line for raid? I heard 2 were the fastest? Anyways, awesome video! 5/5
What the hell I have a 7200 HDD and Windows XP and it boots up just as fast. I was thinking about buying a SSD but after watching this, I won't. Thanks for saving me money!
Put your money where your mouth is show us a video of your so called 7200 rpm drive booting as fast as a ssd,my mother has a 7200 rpm drive sata 2 and it is far from booting up this quick LOL.i smell bs from users here
yup indeed that person is bs-ing ( no offense)... i'm also running a 7200rpm on windows xp it takes freakin forever to boot up... SSD is definitely better in speed :P
yea he is a liar i got a 7200 rpm drive on my mothers pc and windows don't boot up this quick, heck even with my raptor it didn't boot up this quick,i had to wait for my programs to load/backround task, the ssd does it instantly,he is not fooling anyone, notice how i have yet to get a response video proving his hd is the same speed as mine
@BROTRRer Windows XP. You realise it's like 8 years iolder than Win7 and it also has less to load? Win7 has XP built in it! (atleast i heard that's how it has really good compatability)
no offense but i highly doubt that if so please show proof,i had a 10 k hard drive and it is not as fast as this shutting down or starting up or even launching apps,so if you can prove me wrong post a vid cause i am 100 percent sure your 72k drive don't compare to a ssd that reads at 250 mbs no offense
Hey I have 2 Super Talent Ultradrives in raid 0. I have heard that ssd's don't boot so much faster than normal harddrives, but in use they are so much faster. Don't care what peaple say thay are only jealous. Thanks for posting video's!
Rofl, my windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on my athlon 3800+ oc-ed 2.8ghz boots up just as fast lol on a VERY old 30gb drive xD

@IRud3Bwoy as for bandwith yes ssd has little gain, i think what ssd's really excell is on latency(seek time).

yeah your right
flash drives like solid state drives will be the future.
they are already 5 to 8 times faster then a 7200rpm hd ,depending on the model and type
ImmortalUniverse 1 year ago
@sbrideau2000 depends on who made the ssd .
And ssd drives got different models with different speeds too just like Hard drives .,
