I hate drummers who think they're so cool because they play real drummers and always say how "rock band drums are nothing like the real deal."

They are, to a certain extent, similar. I've been playing drums for 6 years and I can say Rock Band drums ARE similar to real life. The dynamics are very different but the beats are fairly similar. You've probably played drums for 1 year and now you think you're the shit.

In rock band you don't have a Hi-Hat pedal, that's the deal breaker for me. Real drums are slighlty *harder*, but as LolGui said, it depends on your definition of the word.

Rock Band has heaps of songs that are way easier in real life than on rock band.

Playing rock band drums is very similar to playing drums. The only major differences are the location of the stock drum pads and the fact that there are only 4 of them and the hihat pedal is missing.. otherwise it's almost exact. You still have to use both of your hands and foot to hit notes at the right time. If you get an ion kit, technically you are playing real drums because the ion drum rocker is a e-drum.

They're 16th notes, the overall tempo is pretty fast though. And actually the rolls aren't as hard as they seem. The fast hi-hat part at 1:05 is 8th notes on your right hand, so to do the rolls, you just gotta have your other hands to 8th notes on the other beats inbetween your right hand. If you practice the rolls in practice mode, you should be able to nail them.

Theoretically, they didn't cut anything out. On the actual album, Siren Song of the Counter Culture, there are no drums in the intro. It's only the guitar during the intro. For some reason they add the drums to the intro when they play this song live though. At least they did the times I saw them live. Anyway, nothing was cut out.
