@TheSunRecords I agree, reluctantly. I do not like when you are right. Gonna get you real fast on the choo-choo train to Siberia before you can say I beg of you is rockabilly!
@bellgardens53 I bet there a lot of younger people who thinks is Rock-a-Billy.Everything with a uptempo beat is Rockabilly to them.Including Frank Wildcat Sinatra and Rockin' Dean Martin.
I just got this on a 45 and have both b-sides, now with 145+ Christmas 45s in my collection. 45s are probably harder to find than the 78 as in 1950, 78s were still much more popular than 45s were.
I have 'Boogie Woogie Santa' by Lionel Hampton as well as Mabel Scott, and I have to say Patti Page's version totally blows them both away. Jack Rael's orchestra is fantastic, even on 78rpm it rocks!
patentpumps , I'm lucky enough to have both versions of Tennessee Waltz, and by far Boogie Woogie Santa Claus is the clear winner. Thanks for adding this interesting tid bit.
Hey, it sold more than 3 MILLION copies on the back of TENNESSEE WALTZ before they removed it after Christmas and replaced it with LONG LONG AGO. Long, Long Ago was in the public domain so Mercury didn't have to pay any publisher/writer royalties.
Hmmm...though Frank can't be associated with any kind of rockn'roll. Not even by the most naive person living today. LOL

WOW and Holy Moses! What a great jule song. Fitst I thought it was Ella Mae Morse (great pre Rnroll singer) I'll snatch it for my lead. LOL

@bellgardens53 Yeah, you woud not expect Patty Page singing songs like this. It's nothing than plain Rhythm n' Blues.Or pre Rock n' Roll.

OK--this is cool. Your phonograph is cool, the 78 is cool, and this rocks. (Cool!)
This is great. Better save it. Thanks--

It's a more popular recording today than in 1950!
