  • Song left out the best part. Not a soul came home to-way, and to his compatriots tell, what danger 'tis to visit they, who live among Norroway's fells. On one side, it's glorification of a "cowardly" slaughter, but on the other side, god damn is it good propaganda.

  • WHY DID THE VIKINGS DIE OUT!?!!

  • @MrNiklas1111 - No, they're just waiting...

    :-)

  • Could you upload more Tyr songs with lyrics ?

  • The lyrics was made by the norwegian Edvard Storm in the late 1700's. At that time, the writing was quite similar to danish (because of the danish occupation of Norway), but the pronunciation is not the same, though. So, it is norwegian;-)

  • DE KOMMER VEL OVER DEN HEEEDEEE

  • @jmah1997 It is Gøtudanskt and Danish. Even the band themselves said that, so maybe you can't understand your own language..I'm from Denmark btw and can easily understand it, better than Norwegian and Swedish

  • OMG LOVE TYR I WANNA LEARN THIS LANGUAGE SOMEONE TEACH ME!!!!!

  • ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY DISLIKE THIS VIDEO! lml

  • ey endlich ma mit lyrics

  • This is Danish language with hard faroe accent. Also called Gøtudanskt.

  • @MookieBlaylockDJR when people from faroe islands speak danish do you normally speak in Gøtudansk or in normal danish or can you speak in both?

  • @MookieBlaylockDJR It isnt Danish and it isnt Gøtudanskt... (I am faroese) It is norwegian or swedish.. :P just sayin

  • @TheSailorgirl1 The language is Nordic/scandinavic or Nordisk/skandinavisk

  • @sergei291 Mr. Sinklar went over salty seas

To Norway his aim had to be

Between the rocks of Gudbrandt he found his grave

A bloody forehead he would get, before dawn breaks, They'll probably come through the heathland

Around Romsdals coasts he steered for land, claimed himself as an enemy, after him followed 1400 men, all of which had evil thoughts, before dawn breaks, They'll probably come through the heathland

  • NICE

  • music for odin's ears!

  • Lol one dislike. I bet he feels like an idiot.

  • Proud of being a wiking! Nordicpower!

  • who the fuck is that idiot who disliked this?! D: ...gotta be a mistake...

  • @TheSailorgirl1 Ah I see. That explains a lot, actually. Thanks for telling me that.

  • I am swedish , I can understand half of this , cuz I am badass .. hahah

  • Valravn did this song too, but then it was called hr. Sinklars

anyways, GREAT fukkin' song! i'm a native dutch speaker, wich is, like Faroese and all scandinavian tongues, a germanic language, so i am able to follow a little tiny bit of what this song's about (:

  • @TDmetal1 im danish so i can almost understand all of it

  • The language is Danish. Stop debating which language it is. It's definitely not Norwegian.

  • @Kirara9245 The band comes from the Faroe Islands, which has it's own language. I'm pretty sure it's that language.

  • @guilemaster147 It's Danish, not Faroese. Regin Smiður is in Faroese. This is Danish. It's best not to argue facts. If anything, it's Faroese-Danish, a different dialect than of the Danish country itself. But this is NOT Faroese, Norwegian, Icelandic, nor Swedish.

  • @Kirara9245 Well the interesting thing is, if you put the lyrics through a translator, it translates accurately in both Danish and Norwegian. When I asked it to auto-detect the language, it turned up with Norwegian, though. Take from that what you will. I'm not arguing anything, just saying what I saw.

  • its old norsk related faraoese language and if you know several related languages and see it in written form and hear the music you can actually follow it pretty well.

  • @0pteryx ah thanks for that.

  • I speak Spanish, English, Catalan and German

I'd trade all those for one Skandinavian language

  • @MotiCompleto008 Then faroeese would be the best choise, cause we understand all scandinavian languages: Icelandic, norwegian, swedish, and danish. Most of us can read deutsh as well.

english translation: Norwayyy!!! wee have many awesome bands. by the way it sounds like you wrote a little wrong in the text. but it was Awesome! :D

  • @0pteryx yes i have come to realise that not to long ago sorry. I't sounds more or less the same, so my bad. :) thanks for the tips by the way. :)

:) takk for tipset foresten.

  • norwegian viking folk vocalist says: thumbs up

  • just excellent *_*

  • How's this possible? 1 vote didn't like the song!

  • @dangerboy551 he had to be unique

  • this is just... FUCKING AWESOME !!! HAIL TO THE HAMMER !!!

  • HAIL THE VIKINGS!!

  • Patriotism, maybe?:p

  • This is an old norwegian song:) feel the patrionism. Bring it on scotland!:D

  • the lyrics is old Danish.

  • @Fodn1 no, its færøyar

  • Yes, but the language is danish

  • one heathern just went to hel

  • @gubbikiller proby was a christian trying to make a difference

  • @Giusel

    I thinks it's old danish

  • @1996ragnar In this song ,it is about Norge, also Norway.

  • @gustaf2adolf

PS. you know this song isn't in faroese right? ;P

  • @gustaf2adolf

Ná, so tú skilir móðurmál mítt sigur tú? ;)

  • Thats what I call music.

    Long Live the Vikings!! \m/

  • Im from Sweden, Faraoese (?) is a pretty cool language, I get many of the words but some are impossible to understand :D /Fantastic song

  • @gustaf2adolf Ok, but this is actually Norwegian :D

  • @Giusel Whatever.. I´ve heard it in Swedish as well and I think its a old classic Swedish song as well :D It´s still good though.

  • @gustaf2adolf Its Norwegian because the song is about a Scottish attack on Norway that was repelled by Norwegians.

  • I'm Danish and i understand pretty much all of it :)

  • @jeppe2299

i'm swiss and i understand pretty much of it :)

  • @jeppe2299 so could it be danish?

  • @honigdachsfan no1 understood the lyrics man :D

  • richtig ist das lied geil

  • I don´t understand the lyrics. But i love to sing this song. Makes me feel like a viking. O.K. after a few jars of Met.

  • hey, can anyone answer this question, is this song originaly a poem, because this song is quite simular to a poem/legend from where i live i norway, and if i am right this song is about when the villagers from lom, lesja and vågå took out a skottish invader army that tried to go troug gudbransdalen, and was killed on a mountain trail by rocks that the villagers trowed down on them from a cliff higer above, so if anyone knows please respond on this question tx

  • @OfTheVikings aye, this is indeed an old poem, telling the tale of how them scots got royally pwned. it's written by a guy named Edvard Storm, and you can find the full poem here no.wikisource . org/wiki/Zinklars_vise

  • @SG546 tx was all i needed to know because i have read te poem from before then, i have a book where the wole story is writen, i am from the area where the villagers came from...

  • @OfTheVikings google "Battle of Kringen" or "Slaget ved Kringen"

  • Does anyone know whether there's a good translation of the lyrics out there?

  • learning norwegian from this song LOL

  • @karaokeguy88 just bad, that this is faeroese... and the Faroe Islands are part of Denmark

  • @66nataS do not mistake this with Faroese, this is Danish with a Faroese accent, making it sound a lot more Norwegian than actual Danish.

  • @aGeilini actually, this is not really Danish. Yes, it's traditional Danish, but not the sort we speak today.. both in words and grammar :)

  • @66nataS ah ok. I didn't know that

  • @karaokeguy88 this is not Faroese.

  • awesome intro!

  • fy faen så bra^^

  • yeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssss!!!! \m/

  • Over den hede - over the head Am I correct?

  • Over the heath!

  • not realy!!! over den hede - über die heide (german)

  • Over the heath - they were Heathens

  • @Mordgorond Nothing to do with heathens. A heath is a geographical feature found in dry places, tends to have shrubs and types of heather in it.

  • @Mordgorond Why the hell are you guessing?! This song was written in the 1700s about a battle that took place in Norway in the beginning of the 1600s. At that time the people living in Norway, in Denmark and in the Faroe Islands were very much christians and had been so for a looooooong time.

  • @Andreastij But I understand the confusions, with the viking ships and all... But this has nothing to do with vikings.

  • @Kengokatrileo

    over the heath.

  • Gut gemacht ;)

Dazu noch ein seeeehr geiles Lied!

    5*

  • ...EXCELLENT!!

  • sauberle :D

  • @IltisLager666 top wa ;) schwob oder waas?
