Just for a little bit of fun facts. This song was written by an Irish artist Called Donal Mescall, Not by Clay Aiken. It was written about a car crash on the motorway between Limerick and Dublin where a father and two children were killed. He wrote the song after thinking what if it was his family. Just thought the man behind it should get some of the credit here :) and jus so noone says anything i don't know anything about American politics so that's the reason I've passed no comment on Obama.
What a powerful song.... GRACE OF GOD from Clay Aiken's latest album "On My Way Here" - terrific cd with great original songs of many genres, produced by Sting's multiple Grammy-winning producer & the studio musicians are none other than the Steely Dan band!
And btw.... YES WE DID!!!!!! Barack Hussein Obama is now our next President & the haters can all suck on it! LOL!
Very moving! I know this seems raidcal to some but I'd love to see this play as an Obama tv ad in some of the more liberal/blue states. I think it would help get more of those who may be ambivalent "out to vote". At least one way or another, it may stir some emotions! USE YOUR VOICE! (tm Clay Aiken)
Thank you for such a beautiful song! The images are very meaningful as well.. As a songwriter, I love lyrics that touch the heart. And your lyrics should be sung by all.
It is only for the grace of God that we all ...live.

Actually, your account of the hospital visit is straight from the McCain campaign distortion playbook. The Obama campaign originally planned a private trip (no media) to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany to visit wounded troops, but canceled it to prevent the perception of politicizing our troops. As reported on the network news, this claim by the GOP is simply not true.
McCain fought the recent GI benefits bill, until the last minute so that President Bush could praise him.
i would never vote for obama. being a vet myself and seeing him vote down funding for the military. some of us didnt have bullet proof vests. some didnt have goggles and other supplies. it was just a huge mess. then recently when he refused to see the troops in the hospital because the cameras werent allowed in makes me want to throw his ass out of America. you dont have to agree with me, this is just my opinion.
This is a very well made video played with a very touching song. Good message. I'm not from the US but much of the many crises happening in my part of world is almost always linked to every other event going on elsewhere. I do admire Obama a great deal more than any other current presidential candidate. I hope that the American people will choose rightly and vigilantly for a true progressive leader.
Wish UNICEF would adopt this song as their 'theme' song. Especially since Clay is an Ambassador for them (Official Title: Amabassador For The Education Of All Children)and he just toured Somalialand this week for UNICEF. BTW, this song is on Clay's incredible new cd: On My Way Here.
I also wanted to say that, as much as I love Clay, this isn't about him.
It's about Obama and what he can do for this country. And, until and unless he himself says that the video should be removed, I'm not gonna worry about whether he supports Obama or not. His name isn't on the video, so I don't think anyone would assume he supports Obama just b/c someone used his song.
Such an inspirational video. Thank you so much for putting it together. I think it truly speaks to Obama's vision for this country. And yes, the song is very appropriate.
Freedom of speech, we still have it. For those who are not Obama supporters, make your own YouTube statements. This is tremendously moving to me, and I have shared it with others. Yes, I'm voting for Barack and change. The song and lyrics used are very fitting and beautifully done.
Good lord, people. A woman wanted to express something she was feeling, and made a beautiful, touching video. You don't need to tear her down and talk to her like she's stupid just becase your political leanings are different than hers.
Yeah, I voted for Obama also. Wanna make something of it?
The song by Clay Aiken (Grace of God; CD On My Way Here)really makes this video hit home. I do think that the pictures reflect many problems in America. Hopefully either Obama or Clinton will be able to set us on a path to relieve some of the suffering.
Powerful video, unfortunately so true today. I was reading that people are starting to hoomestead and stockpile food due to the bleak future predicted.
Also Perfect song, and perfect person to sing the song, Clay Aiken.
AshFoals - this is a wonderful video, please do not let the comments get to you. Politics is a polarizing subject. Lots of strong opinions. I think your video reflects Obama's vision for the difference he would like to make in the world. I hope he gets a chance to give it a go.
I really hope that people will take it for what it is - A well-fitting & touching song set to some very moving, but tragic images that depict the suffering in the world today.
We all want what is right. Thank you for creating such a beautiful montage.
To those watching this video who appreciate it, thank you. But his video is about my feelings about poverty and homelessness and apathy and who I want to be President. I used a song that I found moving. If you are not an Obama supporter, that's fine. You can appreciate the message and vote for whomever you prefer. The tag is my choice only. Please do not turn a labor of love into a Clay Aiken discussion or a political argument. Please just feel and care. Thank you.
This video is in the News & Politics Category... I love Clay and the song. But not the naive implication that Obama will save the world. What did he do as a Jr. Senator? Let's don't idolize politicians.
This is not a Clay Aiken video - I liked his vocals on a heartfelt song. Please grasp the concept that this is MY video and I support Obama and believe his message of change is what this country needs. It's in News & Politics because it's my political statement. Its not a music video for Clay Aiken fans. You are free to support your choice for President but it is silly to argue on a youtube video about MY choice. Don't vote for Obama if that's your choice. No hard feelings.
I love the song. Yet I'm not to crazy about the video. It does evoke a powerful message, but to claim that Obama is the only candidate is eager to 'change' is unrealistic. I'm not an Obama supporter and for those who are should ask themselves when has he been specific about what he is going to do to bring change. I'm still waiting. That is all.
This is the kind of song an artist like Clay Aiken needs. He has always been socially aware and many people do not know this about him. So happy to see you use it this way, whether it is in support of one candidate over another.
WOW! That is a very moving video and a perfect song to go with it! No matter who you vote for, the suffering it out there and needs to be acknowledged. Clay Aiken has a gorgeous voice!
Clay Aiken "Grace of God" from his CD On My Way Here. Wow, what a perfect song for the pictures shown here. Not an Obama supporter, but certainly support this song for the times.
What a beautiful, thought provoking song with a powerful message. Clay Aiken sings it with such emotion. It's perfect for this video. What a beautiful, beautiful job on this montage! It's very touching & inspirational.
This is such an exquisite, touching video. Combining Clay Aiken's beautiful voice with the painful pictures matching the words of the song was truly inspired. I'm a Claymate, so it is particularly meaningful to me...but anyone and everyone with a heart will certainly be touched by this work.
The song is "Grace of God" from Clay Aiken's new CD "On My Way Here". It was the #1 Billboard Internet CD the first week it was released. It's a beautiful CD! Check it out!
